3 Feminine Movement Mistakes to Avoid

Comments (89)

What’s the secret to being a super hot woman?

It’s not your hair, face, or even body shape. It’s all about your MOVEMENTS …

Maybe you’ve seen it yourself – the plain Jane woman whose sexy walk turns heads vs. the beautiful girl whose dude-like swagger is a major turnoff.

How feminine are YOUR movements? Do you still walk like a guy or have you gone overboard into drag queen territory?

Here are 3 feminine movement mistakes you need to avoid:

1. Over exaggerating your hip movements

Everybody knows that women sway their hips when they walk, but the biggest tipoff of an amateur is overexaggerated hip movements.

Don’t swing your hips around – instead, put on a pair of high heels. Heels cause your hips to sway without you having to force the movement. The key is to relax your body and go with the flow.

2. Being too stiff

Genetic males naturally have tenser bodies than women do. If your body is tense, your movements are going to look stiff and masculine.

The secret to fluid, feminine movements is to relax your body. Be careful not to tense your shoulders or lower back when you are “en femme.” It’s also super helpful to stretch and get massages to release built up tension.

3. Sticking your chest out

Arching your back and sticking your chest out might look sexy, but real women don’t walk around like that.

Instead, keep your back straight and pull your shoulders down and back. This makes you look confident and feminine, without looking ridiculous.

Now that you know what not to do, here’s a video demonstrating the RIGHT way to walk. Notice the straight posture, gently swinging hips, and relaxed movements:

How are YOUR feminine movements? Do you struggle with this or are you one of the lucky girls who are naturally graceful? Leave me your comments below!

Love,
Lucille

    Hi Lucille.

I am 65 and not too good at makeup. However, I’ve still got fabulous legs and a full head of thick, pure, shining white, shoulder-length hair. Even the young girls comment on it in the clubs.
My feminine hips (Born with them,) cause me to easily walk with a sophisticated feminine gait. I’ve got boobs, natural, 36 C and I’m working on reducing my waist to 30/28 inches.
I have huge fun in the night clubs on international rugby nights in Cardiff. When rugby supporters walk up behind me thinking I’m some young blond chick it’s hilarious when I turn around and they stand trying to work out my age. Most mistake me for about forty to forty five, (Even the girls think about that.) then I show them my bus pass, sixty-six. Howls of hilarity ensue.

Still taking the hormonal herbs. Boobs growing nicely.

I have always walked from the hips down NOT the shoulders down I found walking this way gets your mind off of your upper body relaxing it alowing the shoulders to drop down and back and alowing your arms to swing WITH your hips and not your legs doing this with heels at least two inch definetely helps, I prefer four to six inch heels.

    Luv ya Lindsay

Oh – that wasn’t very positive! I can walk in heels though, i love that, when I’m out and about in the day i wear flats, and finally I have got a pair that are ever so comfy! Heels, fantastic – but wow they make you pay! x

Looks like not many people admit to having some problems – the thing is you’re forever learning, even if you know you should have been born a woman. I’m very expressive anyway, but i struggle most with been aware of my very slim but toned figure, and I dislike my arms and shoulders.

This makes me overly aware, and I tense up a bit, this in turn makes my neck and shoulders hurt. It depends how I feel – sometimes I can be aware of feeling pretty but knowing that A, I aren’t – and B I will never be, a genetic woman. This gets me down a great deal, and it can make me think what’s the point? It’s not all fun and games being TG x

thanks for your site/tips Lucille – they’re great.

My male counterpart spent a great deal of time watching the girls on campus at Dalhousie University. There of course was considerable variation. He also contrasted it with the walk of the young men. Interestingly there was a convergence he observed in the athletes; the girls and the boys had nearly the same walk. He also watched them sitting, and standing. He had former training in modern dance so he was a critical watcher. Since he himself is athletic by inclination, and slim of build, I am girlish in proportion. When I met a new friend and accompanied her to a community dinner she said to me, “You seem just like another middle aged woman. More so in person than in the pictures you posted.’ A fellow in the kitchen referred to me as, “That woman next to Ann”.

The walk starts in the centre of the body, a spot mid-way between your navel and your pubic bone, and again mid-way between there and your back. Think of moving your body’s energy out from that spot. Watch to girls and the women who were born into it. Watch in particular the one’s who are fit and a glory to the existence of humankind. That swing of the hips referred to in the posts above is a consequence of the way women use the musculature of the pelvis in their movement. It is a stronger walk than the loose walk of men. This is why there was a convergence in the athletes. The athletic men are less sloppy.

I think the key is to avoid side-to-side tilting or twisting of the torso, and to allow the waist to swivel. Women naturally avoid the torso motion because they have breasts, and swivel more easily at their smaller waist. The result is that hip motion is used for balance where men use the whole torso. Try to focus on graceful torso motion, and the hip motion will become automatic.

    Hi Lucille,
I am very new to opening up to my femme self, but something I have noticed. I wear french panties under my day-clothes and find they are very chastising-hide my male genitles and give a very feminine appearance. But I have found ,with no male bits hanging between my legs, I seem to naturally walk with my steps in a straighter line-more feminine and not the manly “cowpoke” gait. I am not tall and elegant, but this femme gait makes me feel so.

A friend offered me a tip when I started working on my walk..
Women may step across the path of the other foot like a panther,( thus creating a less caveman look nd giving some nice natural hip sway.. BUT women do bend their knees when walking more then most men do, even in heels.

Look at most males walking and they lumber along and bend their knees because its a natural function. Women walk loser and more feline like then males and use their knees more.

But not high stepping, just more fluidly.

hi lucille, i’ve always found that walking one foot in front of the other helps my hips sway, i like the advice about moving your arms too, with the direction of the palms facing back… thanks again, michelle

Ihave always been more fluid in my movement than most genetic males but what realy suprised me was how fast i was able to walk in pumps it was like second nature within hours i was walking in heels as if id done it my whole life.
The sway in the hips was just as easy i do not even think about it any longer.
    Cheers Kattie
