Did you know that the colors you wear have a HUGE impact on the way people perceive you – especially when you are en femme?

Colors send out subconscious messages to people. For example, purple says “sexy and mysterious”, while pink says “feminine and romantic”.

The right colors can even make you look more passable!

Here are the meanings of 12 different colors:

meaningofcolors1

White

White is associated with purity and simplicity. Wear white if you want to look pure, innocent, or even virginal.

Blue

Light blue send out messages of peace, trust, and understanding. Dark blue is associated with authority and masculinity (think police uniforms), so use this color sparingly. The best blues for TG women are light blue and baby blue.

Red

Red is the most intense color of all and is associated with passion, desire, love, and sexuality. Wear red only when you want to be noticed!

Green

Light green symbolizes freshness and youthfulness, while dark green is associated with money and ambition.

meaningofcolors2

Purple

Purple communicates mystery, magic, and creativity. Wear purple if you want to look sexy and mysterious.

Black

Black is associated with power, elegance, and formality. Wear black if you want to look sophisticated and mysterious.

Pink

Pink is the color of love and romance. It’s the most feminine color, so be sure to incorporate lots of pink into your wardrobe.

Yellow

Yellow is the color of joy and energy. Wear yellow to show off your fun, playful side. Avoid yellow when you want to be taken seriously.

meaningofcolors3

Orange

Like yellow, orange is associated with joy, enthusiasm, and attraction. This is a great color to wear when you want to liven things up.

Brown

Brown is a stable, wholesome, and down-to-earth color. Wear brown for mellow occasions or if you want to appear reliable and genuine.

Gray

Gray is great color to wear when you need to come across as professional and trustworthy. Too much gray can get boring though, so be sure to punch it up with some fun colors.

Beige

Beige is a simple, conservative color that’s friendly, approachable and non-threatening. It’s perfect for times when you want people to open up to you.

What’s YOUR favorite color to wear? Does this color match what you want the world to know about you?

One of the best parts of being a girl is experimenting with your look – and that includes hair color! Changing your hair color or trying a new wig is the fastest way to transform your image.

So should your femme self be a blonde, brunette, or redhead? It all depends on the image you want to project. Here’s what each color says about you:

blondeBlonde

Blonde is the most feminine hair color. It’s a fun, lively shade that attracts a lot of attention. Blondes are seen as bubbly, youthful, and approachable.

I think every woman should go blonde at least once in her life, but it’s crucial to choose the right shade. Brassy blonde looks tacky, while a shade that’s too light makes you look washed out.

brunette3Brunette

Brunettes are perceived as intelligent, sophisticated, and seductive. Go brunette if you want to show off your mysterious side. 51% of men prefer brunettes, so it’s a color that will also get you noticed.

Just be sure to choose the right shade. Going too dark can drain the color from your face.

redhead2Redhead

Only 3% of the population is redheaded, so red hair makes you stand out. Redheads are known for having fiery personalities. The stereotype is that redheads are sexpots and femme fatales.

Red is flattering shade that brings color to your face. Red ranges from strawberry blonde to bright red to deep auburn. Your best shade depends on your skin tone and eye color.

Which one are YOU? Take my poll below and tell my why you love your color in the comments section!

Are you a blonde, brunette, or redhead?

I always say it’s the “subtle” things that give a girl away. That’s definitely true of an Adam’s Apple! This is one detail that can ruin your entire look.

Fortunately, there are some easy fixes that don’t require surgery. Here are my top 6 ways to hide your Adam’s Apple:

scarf1. Tie on a scarf.

Every TG woman should have a wardrobe of beautiful scarves. Tying a scarf around your neck not only hides an Adam’s Apple, it adds a flattering pop of color to your face. Problem solved!

2. Apply contouring makeup.

Dust blush or contouring powder 1-2 shades darker than your natural skin tone over the protruding area. Dark colors make an area look smaller, so this visually reduces the size of your Adam’s Apple.

ruffled-top3. Wear high collared tops.

High collared tops are great for hiding the side view of an Adam’s Apple. Look for a shirt with a ruffled collar for a soft, feminine look.

4. Try a choker.

Wearing a choker on top of your Adam’s Apple is a foolproof way to hide it – but only if you have a thin neck. Chokers make a thick neck look even thicker.

5. Wear a turtleneck.

What could be easier than covering your Adam’s Apple with a turtleneck? Turtlenecks work, but they also spotlight a square jaw or prominent chin. Avoid them if this is you.

wig-adams-apple6. Choose the right wig.

Long hair that curls around the neck makes an Adam’s Apple less visible from the side. Use contouring powder to tone down the front view of your Adam’s Apple and you’re good to go!

What are YOUR best tricks for disguising an Adam’s Apple? Let me know in the comments section below!

The Top 3 Beard Concealers

Posted by: Lucille Sorella | Comments (32)

Of all the beauty flaws out there, nothing is as bad as having a visible beard shadow!

Your best bet is to get rid of your beard through laser hair removal or electrolysis. If you can’t do that you’ll need a close shave and a good concealer.

There are a lot of options out there, but here are the top 3 beard concealers I recommend:

1. Dermablend Cover Crème

The “mother” of all beard covers and a TG favorite, Dermablend Cover Crème ($32) is heavy enough to cover scars, tattoos, bruises, and beard shadows. On the down side, it’s very thick and can look cakey. Dermablend is best for evenings or low light situations when you can get away with heavy makeup.

macfullcoverage2. MAC Full Coverage Foundation

MAC Full Coverage Foundation ($26) is another TG favorite. It’s a cake foundation that offers great coverage and is used by pros for beauty photography. The MAC foundation is lighter than Dermablend, so it looks more natural.

Note: MAC Full Coverage Foundation is only available in MAC Pro stores or by calling 1-800-866-6464 to order.

colortration3. Colortration

Colortration Super Concealing Liquid Makeup ($37) is another great option for covering your beard shadow. In fact, many girls swear by it. Colortration is a highly concentrated liquid concealer, so it goes on smoother and looks more natural than crème covers.

Your best bet is to order Colortration’s six color trial kit ($17) so you can find your best shade. Order online or by calling 1-888-350-4505.

No matter which concealer you use, keep these two things in mind:

  1. Pat (don’t rub!) the concealer on.
  2. Apply powder between concealer layers.

What’s YOUR favorite beard concealer? Let me know by leaving a comment below! I’d love to hear from you.

Love,
Lucille
