How to Look Shorter
CommentsA few days ago, somebody asked me this question on my Facebook page:
“Is there a way to actually physically resize and reduce my hands, feet, and height to keep in line with the average female?”
It’s a tough question because SIZE has a lot to do with femininity … but you can’t physically change your height or hand and foot size. (No surgeries for this yet.)
The good news is that you can make yourself APPEAR smaller and more feminine.
I’ll talk about hands and feet next week. For now, here are 5 ways to reduce height and look shorter:

- DO choose full skirts and dresses to draw the eye out. (More width = less height.)
- DON’T wear super tight clothes. (Less width = more height.)
- DO wear a different color top and bottom to visually break up your figure.
- DON’T wear monochromatic outfits since this makes you look even taller.
- DO wear a contrasting belt to interrupt the eye from going straight up and down.
Yes, it’s true you might be taller than the average woman. But don’t forget about the sexy tall women out there who are revered for their long legs and height! These lovely ladies are all 6 feet tall or taller:

Who is YOUR favorite tall celebrity? Take my poll and leave me your comments below!

Like True Beauty, True Femininity Comes Only From Within
As gently as possible (but biting my lip very hard and with boiling blood and shaking hands), I must take emphatic and immediate exception to Ms Lucille Sorella’s statement that, “SIZE has a lot to do with femininity”. Perhaps I am wrong, but it is my understanding and belief that femininity… that is to say true femininity… comes from within a person’s character and has more to do with a compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing soul rather than anything to do with any characteristics of physical “SIZE”.
I would hate to be the one to tell all the girls and women who are over 5’9″ or over 150 pounds that they are any less feminine than those of more meager proportions. Young girls have been filled with such ideas since the early Twentieth Century and the rates of teen suicide, anorexia nervosa, other eating disorders, and self-deprecating behavior stemming from issues of low self-esteem have risen both proportionally and quite tragically.
There are many many tall, large, big-boned, and powerful women in this world who are infinitely more feminine… and feminine in every sense of the word… than some petite snip of a barbie doll whose supposed “femininity” comes from their miniscule stature or from their cruel bullying of more robust classmates in school or after school on the Internet.
I am not the world’s leading expert on either femininity or psychology by any means; but I am willing to bet that if we were to run this one by Oprah, Ellen, Dr. Phil, psychologists, and TG and GG women everywhere, there would be an overwhelming consensus that true femininity has nothing to do with size or weight or musculature or any superficial physical characteristics at all. (And yes I am an NFL-sized girl!) But, my thoroughly subjective hypothesis is that we would nearly all agree that femininity comes from the hearts and the souls and the minds of women and not from any department store, dress store, drugstore, cosmetic counter, or surgeons knife.
Just like true beauty… true femininity comes only from within.

Hi Candace,
I’m sorry you found my statement offensive. That was certainly not my intent.
I agree 100% that femininity comes from within. But in terms of IMAGE, it’s a fact that most women are physically smaller than men and that people associate size with gender. This does not mean imply that large women are less feminine.
I think women should embrace who they are – tall, short, heavy or thin. That’s why I listed examples of tall women who are celebrated for their height. They don’t hide it, they flaunt it!
But if somebody wants to look shorter, there are also ways to downplay height. Hence, this article.
It’s a personal choice – and I applaud you for taking a stand for “big girls”!
Hugs,
Lucille
Not all GG women have small hands and feet. One of my best friends is slightly shorter than me (she’s 5’8″), but her fingers are 1/2″ – 5/8″ longer than mine and somewhat wider than mine (this is her actual finger length, not just fingernails which she keeps short due to her job). Her feet are also larger than mine but then I am fortunate to be blessed with a very small bone structure.
Hi, this is my first post on this website although I have been coming here for quite some time now.
I came out to my friends and family just over 5 years ago now. I was very scared as to what would happen by coming out that I sat on the stairs shaking till my mum came up to me after reading my letter, she just held me and cried. Since then I have been through countless amounts of councilers but unfortunately due to some health problems I am unable to progress any further at this time.
The main reason for my post is that size is one of the things that always played in the back of my mind. Whenever I go out with my gg friends all but one of them are shorter than myself. I am 5’7, next time we go out I will keep in mind these tips that you have supplied regarding how to look shorter, and your tips regarding hand size.
Your tips have always been very useful Lucille.
Thankyou.
I where a size 12 eee mans size shoe where can I find high heals and boots for this size?
Hi Lucille and Everyone, what a Wonderful forum you have created! I am sure Jade will find many new, compassionate and like minded friends here or on facebook. Proper nutrition and exercise( not pumping iron or running marathons, I suggest walking, swimming, dancing, find something you enjoy) go a long way to improving the mind, body and spirit! Jade , I find it very easy to make friends by smiling and being willing to listen. Best Wishes and Sweet Kisses Honey
Hi Lucille–I have not purchased your program YET (and I have a very good personal reason for that). I hope to do so later on this year (have my fingers crossed). Anyways, I wanted to tell you, first, that I think you’ve done great for yourself, and with all respect due, you really do look beautiful. And second, I just wanted to share something that you may have felt at some point in your transition–I am a male-to-female transexual, I’m very scared, and I am hurting so much–it is almost unbearable. I live alone, and I feel ever so lonely… I have acquaintances and even family all that live within driving distance, but in the end, I am totally alone and I have nobody, no one. I feel like I’m in this trap that I cannot get off of– I desperately need a friend. Ok, it is not my wish to make anybody feel bad, so I’ll stop here.
Hi Jade, welcome and thank you for your comments. Although I am not a male to female transgender/transsexual woman, I do understand your pain. My goal is to offer my perspective and support as a genetic woman. It’s also to create a community where you can get support from others on the same journey. We have a growing community on Facebook where you can start to connect with others: http://www.facebook.com/feminizationsecrets Have you tried to join any TG forums or online support groups? Are there any support groups in your area? You can’t do this alone, so please continue to reach out.
Can any of you ladies chime in with other suggestions for Jade?
I am 6’2″. I can’t hide that and don’t intend to. My inseam is longer than my belt [OK only just]. I have always found the tall elegant look attractive, and as I develop my stile that is what I have in mind.
The problem I have is finding pants long enough. And oddly shoes narrow enough. Woman’s shoes are too wide for me. I where a ladies 12 narrow.
Making the best of what I have in TN
have to stop just doing what you said has my brest growing to fast my nipples have grown to larger than half inch or more hard to hide them now if i did your natural herbs i dont know what would happen now im a asize and like them thanks keep up the good work
I’ve often felt rather height conscious as I’m 6′ 1″ (186). But, as I’m now full time I have accepted that being tall is good! There are many times when I’ve gone into the Beauty Depts of stores and been complimented by envious short girls on being tall!
Yes, I agree. I love being slightly taller than the average woman but not too tall. I want to blend into the crowd. I am 5′ 9″. I think a bigger factor for most MTF is that they have a masculine bone structure: thick torso, wide shoulders, which minimizes their breast and bust development. I am fortunate that have a small “naturally feminine” frame (so said my pediatrician when I was growing up as a boy!)
Rachel, You look stunning. i have to agree, tall is great, i always admired very tall women. And being yourself feels so much better.
I work in retail and everyday I see women that are about 6ft or taller now days as compared with the 50′s – 80′s. Tall women and even taller men are rapidly become the norm.
That’s so true!
I have small features for a guy. My hands are small and womans shoe fit me better than mens shoes. I am over 55 and my breasts are growing some since I started using herbs. I am rather surprised in this.
Every woman I talk to tells me to be proud of my tallness. My favorite tall celeb isn’t in the news now my pick is Luci Lawless at 6’1″.
im a 5’10″ woman and sometimes it is hard to dress because with heels im over 6′ so blending in is always not easily done. but now with Lucille help this transition is getting easier.and my confidence is growing with my breasts.thank you Lucille you are a wonderful angel something this world needs more of! xoxo Lisa
Oh! I’ve forgotten the new image approving my words photo.
Hi,lucile
My favourite tall actress is Uma Turman. She’s really beautiful. And I try to be like her. I’m tall for girl too ( 176 cm, weight 63 kg, waist 70 cm.
Rita
Being a tall girl has always been a little struggle, never able to wear the high heels I want!
. I am 6’1 but being tall does have an advantage, been blessed with long legs. The one thing that helps me feel more petite is dating tall men
Hi Girls,
I am a staggering 204cm tall and 22 years old, but still wear pumps and heeled boots on a daily basis. They make me feel like a complete woman when I am wearing them, not to mention the toning that they do for my calf muscles that could do with a lot more toning. Besides, they form part of my EN FEMME Staples in my ever updating wardrobe.
Jess
Wow Jessica, now that is tall. I’m 190 and abt 90 Kg(196lb). Still closeted due not feeling I could blend due to my height and masculine features like broad shoulders, fat bulging tummy and facial shape. It’s not going to stop me trying though and I’m seriously thinking about gettin Locille’s breast dev programme.
Best wishes to you Jessica and to all you ladies on here.
Anne-Marie
P.S. Lets keep safe out there.
What happened to be yourself. I’ve be going out a number of years as an carrer type woman, nothing flashy and I’ve had very few problems. I’m tall and heavy set and I just blend in with the crowd.
I agree, Mariam. “Be yourself” is the best advice!
BTW, did you notice that none of the 6 foot tall (or taller) ladies in my poll are doing anything to downplay their height? They are all wearing heels and slinky dresses that emphasize their height! Whether you want to use my tips to downplay your height – or do the opposite to play it up – is your choice. But regardless, “be yourself!”
