Top 4 Pubic Hair Removal Tips
Comments
Pubic hair is a taboo topic, but let’s face it – having a neatly groomed bikini area is an important part of being a woman.
How bare should you go?
You should definitely get rid of any hair that sticks out of your underwear. Or, if you’re extra daring, try taking it all off! I promise you’ll feel extra sexy.
Your options are shaving, waxing and depilatories.
Do-it-yourself waxing is painful and you can hurt yourself if you don’t know what you’re doing. Go to a salon instead - many big cities now offer male Brazilian waxes. Depilatories are a good option for the bikini line, but aren’t supposed to be used in the genital area. If you want to take it all off, I suggest shaving.
Here are my top 4 pubic hair removal tips:
1. Trim first.
If you’ve never shaved your pubic hair before, you’re going to have a LOT of hair to deal with. You should trim the hair first to avoid clogging up your razor. Use a scissors or trimmer to trim the hair down to 1/4″.
2. Use the right razor.
It’s easy to cut yourself with normal razors. Instead, use a razor especially designed for the pubic area.
If you want to use a disposable razor, try Noxzema Bikini Shavers. They have a narrow head, making it easier to shave the nooks and crannies of your crotch. You can find Noxzema Bikini Shavers in any drug store.

Another great option is the Philips Norelco Bodygrooming System. This electric shaver has a built-in trimmer and can be used anywhere on the body. You can find it at Walmart and drugstores for around $45.00.

3. Avoid irritation.
Needless to say, the groin is a very sensitive area. Go slow and avoid shaving over the same area repeatedly – this leads to razor burn.
Use shaving cream, even if you are using an electric razor. (The Philips Norelco Bodygroomer can be used in the shower with shaving cream.) Use shaving cream for sensitive skin – NOT the stuff you use on your face.
4. Get rid of ingrown hairs.
The pubic area is especially prone to ingrown hairs, which is NOT a sexy look.
The best way to avoid ingrown hairs is to exfoliate daily using a loofah or washcloth (just be gentle with your private parts!). Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells that can clog your hair follicles.
A final note …
If you’ve never shaved your pubic hair before, you will probably experience irritation and itching. It takes about a month for your skin to adapt to being shaved. Avoid shaving more than once per week and use aloe vera gel to sooth any irritation.
Now let’s hear from you … Take my Pubic Hair Poll and leave me your comments and suggestions below!

oh and yes my sisters, i do keep my bikini area as hair free as the rest of my body. i guess i should try “veet” on the upper pubic zone but will probably keep shaving the rest. hugs, carol
i’ve been using the dipilatory “veet” on my legs and arms for a few weeks now and am happy with the results. i have not tried it on my chest yet (still shaving) but i think it’s time to try it this week…it says to avoid the nipple area and since both of mine are pierced i think i will heed the advice! btw, thank you lucille for all you do carol
As I recall, when two people who are totally shaved attempt vaginal intercourse, sweat causes unbelievable friction. A little hair (i.e. -landing strip) acts as a lubricant.
By the way, those are my natural breasts (no forms or padding)- wearing a regular bra – 38C.
They developed more than I ever expected and are still growing ! No Complaints here ! lol
Luv ya all,
Jackie
Hi!
Personally, I’m clean shaven down there and like the feeling!
I’m a pre-op MtF transgender on HRT (approx 4 yrs)and live full time as a woman. I routinely shave my pubic area (and rest of body) when I bathe and find it easy to maintain that way. Aveeno shaving gel works nice and leaves things feeling very smooth. They claim to have a hair growth retarder in the gel as well. I also find it helps if you hold the skin taught while shaving “down there” while shaving – less chance of knicking yourself ! lol
Anyways …. My name is Jackie and Thats My Story !
P.S. – Hi Lucille !
My wife and I love to totally shave our special love areas. The Venus Embrace razors are fantastic and not only do a great job but enhance my sense of femininity. My wife prefers to use a Braun electric shaver that does a good job but does not end up as smooth as the Venus Embrace result. This shaved feeling definitely enhances our passions. I also keep my chest and budding breasts thoroughly shaved. We never use any chemicals since we are exposed to way too many chemicals that we can’t avoid. Thanks Lucille for all your help. Lesbian love is what
brings out my inner peace and joy.
I use disposable razor right after I get out of the shower. I’ve shaved it all for so long I do not remember when I first started but can’t imagine having hair in below the waist again.
Feels fem and looks good.
I use a depilatory whereever I can. I really like silky smooth legs without shaving all of the time. I try to avoid shaving because of ingrown hairs so the in the more sensitive areas I use a Tweezy or an Epilady. I like touching smooth and hairless skin especially when it’s wet.
Hairless from the eyebrows down,

I have shaved the junk for I don’t know how many years, but don’t keep it totally hair free, usually about once a month.
I have never had any irritation or ingrown hairs have no idea why. I just use aveeno shaving cream and venus razors.
I noticed about six months ago that my pubic hair had changed its shape to the female V, I thought that was unheard of, but maybe the hormones have done it. I usually keep that part just trimmed fairly short but have int he past totally shaved it.
I don’t think I would consider a wax due to what I perceive as being painful.
If I can ever have SRS there is an area on the scrotum that needs to be treated with electrolysis or else there would be hair inside the neo-vagina. That is Marci Bowers requirement but I understand that some other doctors don’t require that and do something different.
I have been living and working and hired as a female for 3 years as of July 2, 2010.

I agree that being totally nude except for the head is really sexy and looks nice with the sext undergarments I wear. Plus my partner loves it for a few good reasons as well she does not have to bother with hair!
Hi, No one has mentioned epilators. They work wonders in the pubic area. Get a wet/dry epilator, trim the bush real close, lather up, and use just like a shaver. It hurts a little bit the first time or two, but that is it. I epilate everyday in the shower. It is painless. I have no body hair at all. I use it everywhere. Underarms, pubic area, butt, and I have a special one for my facial hair. You have to have one exclusively for your face to prevent bumps. I also use alcohol as a after shave to prevent bumps. It works great. I use the panasonic wet/dry ES 2045, available from
Amazon, Target or Bath and Beyond.
I have a couple of tips, one for hair removal and the other for dealing with irritation.
First, I highly recomment using what they call a “Pussy Shaver.” You can Google it. I bought the Body Bare shaver and it works pretty good. I still get some irritation when the hair starts to come out. So I’m starting a daily exfoliating routine since I’ve been told by lots of people that it can work wonders eliminating or reducing irritation and ingrown hairs. The only issue with these shavers is that you have to be patient and have time. Since I’m usually short on time I often find shaving a tine saver.
My second tip is one that can save you money. Some people have told me that using BikiniZone works great at reducing and eliminating razor bumps. I tried it once a while back and it did worked great. The problem is that you don’t get much for the price…not economical at all. So I once spent about an hour going through different products in the drug store and I discovered that Bactine by Bayer, has the same active ingredient as BikiniZone but at a slightly higher concentration. It works just as good and it’s much cheaper. Specially if you buy the generic brands. I only buy the name brand because its cheap enough and lasts me a long time.
I always put some on right after shaving, after showering (even if I didn’t shave), and at the first sign of irritation. It smells a bit funky but the smell goes away after a few minutes. When I shower I put some on and let it try, I then use a body lotion to hydrate the skin without a problem. It doesn’t interfere with the lotion.
I had my hair completly removed by IPL . My legs i made years ago with Needle epilation

It’s so nice to here from you. just what is the best way to get rid of hair for ever?
Try the Sensepil. It’s pricy, but it REALY works!
Hi Lucille, and everyone. I have only been trimming for about a year. I’m not completely shaven, but after I trim really good every other week, its pretty close to being shaven. I love the feeling and look of a neatly trimmed (almost shaven) bikini area. It truly does make a girl feel more feminine. I will continue to maintain this, and maybe one day completely shave…I’m just worried about the irritation and itching that Lucille speaks of, so thats why I trim all of what I can.
Been shaved for years. LOVE IT!!
I’ve been shaving my private parts for years.I would really like to get it lazered off for good.I look better & feel better without all that hair.I would like to remove all the hair on my body.Only having hair on top of my head.
