Are you excited to embrace your fabulous female self? Having the right tools is key!
While some transgender / crossdressing supplies are obvious, there are important items you might not have considered that can help you look and feel your best as a woman.
In this blog post, I share 10 must-have essentials for your male to female transformation journey.
1. Breast Forms
Breasts are arguably the most feminine part of a woman’s body.
If you don’t possess your own natural curves, then investing in a pair of breast forms is a must for any crossdresser or transgender woman. (Of course, you’ll also need a cute bra to put them in!)
2. Color Corrector
Dealing with a visible beard shadow can be a major challenge in putting your best face forward.
Although it may be tempting to camouflage it with thick concealer, the result never appears natural.
Instead, invest in a pink or red color corrector to help neutralize the tone of your beard shadow. This enables you to use less makeup and achieve a more natural and feminine appearance.
(Note: Check out The Makeup Magic Program for expert tips on concealing a beard shadow, using makeup to feminize your face, and so much more!)
3. Body Shaper
A body shaper is a versatile garment that offers multiple benefits, including waist trimming, belly flattening, and overall shape smoothing.
Body shapers come in a variety of styles. Opt for a brief style to wear under shorter skirts and a thigh-length style for pants and longer skirts.
To feminize your lower body, look for a body shaper with hip and butt padding to create the illusion of curves.
4. Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine!
The secret is to choose a fragrance that matches the qualities you want to express. Here are some simple guidelines:
- Go for floral scents if you want to express your romantic side.
- Choose oriental or woody scents if you want to bring out your inner seductress.

5. Black Pantyhose Or Tights
While bare legs may be fashionable, there’s nothing quite like the sophisticated appeal of hosiery. Classic black pantyhose or tights, in particular, are a style must-have.
When opting for pantyhose, choose the sheerest hose available and stick to jet black. Avoid shades like gray-black or brown-black.
Alternatively, you can go for opaque tights for a more casual and youthful look.
6. Lipstick
Studies show that a woman’s lips are considered the most attractive part of her body, particularly when accentuated with lipstick.
It goes without saying that lipstick is an essential item that will instantly make you look more feminine and attractive.
7. Classic Pumps
Shoes say more about you than any other accessory. When it comes to making a statement, you can’t go wrong with a timeless pair of black pumps.
Classic black pumps exude sexiness, femininity, and work well with many types of clothes.
8. Moisturizer
Due to higher testosterone levels, males tend to have rougher skin compared to women.
That’s why it’s essential to incorporate a daily facial moisturizer into your routine, whether you’re presenting as your feminine self or not.
By using moisturizer regularly, you can achieve smoother-looking skin and enhance the application and longevity of your makeup.
9. Little Black Dress
The little black dress is a wardrobe staple every crossdresser and transgender woman should own. A simple black dress in a flattering length can go from day to night and will never go out of style.
10. Attitude
Lastly, the key to it all is your attitude – and it’s absolutely crucial!
The way people treat you often reflects how you expect to be treated. So, embrace your femininity and radiate fabulousness with confidence. You deserve nothing less, girlfriend!

Hi! Lucille,
An item you could have added is a good quality hair piece.
Maybe you can cover this subject with some advise in a future blog.
Kindest regards,
Jade
I learned about these essential things awhile ago, with your help, but it’s good to be reminded! All the best!
Would have to say that I agree with all of the above ten items but have to add don’t forget a high quality wig to give you that lovely flowing hair and soften the face, also false eyelashes and false nails just finish off the makeover

I would add a sturdy corset (perhaps underneath the panty girdle) for those of us who are slightly apple shaped. In narrowing the waste, the excess is pushed to the chest and hips where it is much more appreciated. Your newsletter information is very useful and much appreciated Lucille – please don’t every stop. Michelle
I have all of those items. I would have to add your nails. You must get a manicure and get them polished up. Smile is also essential. Either let your hair grow out or a proper fitting wig.
Wow. Only ten things? Well, I’d have to revise the list with this: a SMILE! So many T-girls forget that one essential thing. More than once, I’ve been in the mall or at a store elsewhere and seen another woman start to look at me quizzically (I stand 6’5″ naturally). Without fail, though, when I flash a smile, she smiles back and just like that, I’m accepted into the sorority as a female shopper.
I’d like to agree with the other ladies who have said nails as a must. I was with a friend recently, both of us en femme. My nails were (as one would expect from a beauty school student!) nicely shaped and polished. Hers were typically blunt male scraggly-looking things that I would have fixed before we went out, if we hadn’t been meeting at where we were shopping. I steered her quickly into a nail salon and had the problem corrected, even though all she’d let them do was clear polish. The difference in her hands was stunning! Even though she still has manly hands, the nails made a huge difference in both her appearance and her confidence.
Speaking of confidence, that, even more than just attitude, is vital. Just remember, ladies, you have every right in the world to be out and about in the manner you choose to be. SO own it! Be the woman you see yourself as in your head. Hold your head up and be proud when you walk. Look others int he eye and smile. If you use the ladies’ room, go in, do your business without fear (always remembering to be ladylike, including sitting down to do your business and wiping afterward, even if only urinating), go to the sink afterward, wash your hand and check your makeup without fear, and get on with your day. Bottom line: if you act like you belong, people will accept that you do.
Hugz to everyone, and thanks again to Lucille for such a great site!

Hey. Im Nikki I just my transition I need a lot of help and im really glad I found this place
Fortunately I don’t need Breast Forms after doing Lucille’s Flat to Fab course and using a decent bra. My boobs aren’t big but they’re all mine! One item I would love to see on the list and one I love most, is Jewellery. As a guy I don’t wear any Jewellery or a watch, but Demmy has a huge collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. I don’t feel dressed until I wear at least one necklace.
Forgot to mention, I was 71 when the cam photo was taken a couple of weeks ago.
