Are you excited to embrace your fabulous female self? Having the right tools is key!
While some transgender / crossdressing supplies are obvious, there are important items you might not have considered that can help you look and feel your best as a woman.
In this blog post, I share 10 must-have essentials for your male to female transformation journey.
1. Breast Forms
Breasts are arguably the most feminine part of a woman’s body.
If you don’t possess your own natural curves, then investing in a pair of breast forms is a must for any crossdresser or transgender woman. (Of course, you’ll also need a cute bra to put them in!)
2. Color Corrector
Dealing with a visible beard shadow can be a major challenge in putting your best face forward.
Although it may be tempting to camouflage it with thick concealer, the result never appears natural.
Instead, invest in a pink or red color corrector to help neutralize the tone of your beard shadow. This enables you to use less makeup and achieve a more natural and feminine appearance.
(Note: Check out The Makeup Magic Program for expert tips on concealing a beard shadow, using makeup to feminize your face, and so much more!)
3. Body Shaper
A body shaper is a versatile garment that offers multiple benefits, including waist trimming, belly flattening, and overall shape smoothing.
Body shapers come in a variety of styles. Opt for a brief style to wear under shorter skirts and a thigh-length style for pants and longer skirts.
To feminize your lower body, look for a body shaper with hip and butt padding to create the illusion of curves.
4. Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine!
The secret is to choose a fragrance that matches the qualities you want to express. Here are some simple guidelines:
- Go for floral scents if you want to express your romantic side.
- Choose oriental or woody scents if you want to bring out your inner seductress.

5. Black Pantyhose Or Tights
While bare legs may be fashionable, there’s nothing quite like the sophisticated appeal of hosiery. Classic black pantyhose or tights, in particular, are a style must-have.
When opting for pantyhose, choose the sheerest hose available and stick to jet black. Avoid shades like gray-black or brown-black.
Alternatively, you can go for opaque tights for a more casual and youthful look.
6. Lipstick
Studies show that a woman’s lips are considered the most attractive part of her body, particularly when accentuated with lipstick.
It goes without saying that lipstick is an essential item that will instantly make you look more feminine and attractive.
7. Classic Pumps
Shoes say more about you than any other accessory. When it comes to making a statement, you can’t go wrong with a timeless pair of black pumps.
Classic black pumps exude sexiness, femininity, and work well with many types of clothes.
8. Moisturizer
Due to higher testosterone levels, males tend to have rougher skin compared to women.
That’s why it’s essential to incorporate a daily facial moisturizer into your routine, whether you’re presenting as your feminine self or not.
By using moisturizer regularly, you can achieve smoother-looking skin and enhance the application and longevity of your makeup.
9. Little Black Dress
The little black dress is a wardrobe staple every crossdresser and transgender woman should own. A simple black dress in a flattering length can go from day to night and will never go out of style.
10. Attitude
Lastly, the key to it all is your attitude – and it’s absolutely crucial!
The way people treat you often reflects how you expect to be treated. So, embrace your femininity and radiate fabulousness with confidence. You deserve nothing less, girlfriend!
Now I’d like to hear from YOU!

Thanks Lucille for another great post prompting lots of interesting replies. My view on some of the top 10:
* Perfume – a few weeks ago I bought from eBay 36 Avon samples – I found it a great way to try loads of different scents (my first venture in this area), I love floral and fruity scents.
* Pantyhose – bare legs are in, but I just don’t understand why. My legs feel lovely in hose, feminine and sexy, and clothes against them feel nicer too; if I wear sandals, I wear nude hose so I can see painted toe nails. I hate wearing shoes with no socks / hose too, my feet stick to the insides – yuck. Also, I have colours other than black, I don’t really get why they have to be black – in the attached photo I am wearing navy, as most of the clothes I am wearing are blueish, and they look fine to me… perhaps I am wrong and just don’t get it. If I was wearing (in an ideal world, because in reality I’m still imprisoned in the closet) a navy suit to work, would navy hose not go with it?
* Bra – maybe things in the UK are different, but to be a really classy woman would I want to wear the bra in the picture with entirely translucent cups? Wouldn’t a bra with satin at the bottom/side and lace in the upper part of the cup be more classy?
* Moisturiser – great tip, have used it for years and people say I look younger than I am, though wish I had started even earlier. I also use a soap-free face wash.
* Lipstick – I prefer lip gloss.
* Shoes – I just love heels… though 3.5 inches is about my limit for walking properly without crucifying my feet. I have bought several pairs of great shoes on eBay very cheaply.
* Panty girdle – I have a few firm control girdles, they are great! What I have also done (hope this doesn’t sound too wierd) is cut out a sponge (car/kitchen sponge) roughly in the shape of the central part of a pair of knickers, then cut out a portion of the inside to fit my male bits and pieces in it, and rounded the top. I wear my sponge first, then a pair of knickers, hose, and finally the panty girdle and the ugly male bulge is instantly turned into a typically female lower-abdomen – this also avoids the painful practise of ‘tucking’ and I can sit or walk in comfort all day if I wanted to.

I’ve learned when you come “out of the closet” to your female friends they giggle a little but then they become your best friend just go one friend at a time 🙂

You’re welcome Jennifer! I appreciate your reply, it makes all that tablet-typing worth it… especially as I am still ‘in the closet’ (though soon to come out to one of my female friends)
I like the things that you have tried and shared here. It is giving me some ideas to do things a little different than I do now. Thank you
AM AGREED WITH YOU. I LOVE ALL KIND OF NICE CLOTHES- SOMETIMES ONLY DRESSES AND ANOTHER TIMES SKIRT WITH A NICE TOP.
FOR EVERY PIECE I PREFER TO GET PANTIES (CLEAR OR SMOKED) AND NICE PUMPS OR MULES OPEN TOE. I THINK IT´S ALSO MORE ATRACTIVE TO USE NAIL COLORS AND TO WEAR EARRINGS ETC. THE COSMETICS ARE IMPORTANT BUT MORE THE EYELINER THAN THE OTHER THINGS. THE PERFUME DEPENDING WHAT YOU CAN SPEND IN MONEY. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT EVERYBODY IS HAPPY TO APPEAR NICE FOR HERSELF. IN MY CASE AM HAPPY TO REALIZE WHAT I WANT.
THANKS FOR YOUR ORIENTATIONS MISS LUCILLE. ALL DEPENDING OF YOU MONEY.
WITH GREETINGS
Lucille,
Loved your blog. I am working on getting the things on your list. Where can one get the color corrector you mentioned? Is there a brand name of he color corrector you can recommend?
Love,
Tina Jo
I’d suggest that manners are important to be a classy lady… even if they are not a top-10. Saying please and thank you whenever appropriate, yawning with a hand over one’s mouth, not swearing at all, always using a tissue for your nose, etc.
My ex-wife fails in all these things… though I never thought she was a lady anyway. I could go on… but then I’d sound like a real bitch!

Good advice. Maybe one different point of view: Yes on tights and pantyhose, but I have also been ok with other than black pantyhose. It just depends on where you are and what you are wearing. For instance, sober traditional pantyhose shades are appropriate with sober blend-in outfits. And of course, tights can be great fun and hugely effective in a variety of colors! I had a funny experience with fishnet hose before I religiously kept my legs hair-free: I noticed a lot of hairs sticking out of the mesh. Duh! fortunately it was dark where I went. THAT won’t happen again! My hair is a nice length, but a bit thin and unruly, and I really want to avoid wigs. So a selection of hats comes in handy sometimes. You can have a lot of fun with them and get some REALLY warm compliments, too. Lastly, a definite RIGHT ON in support of ATTITUDE!
Not sure if it has been mentioned or not but I think the number one item should be an understanding and supportive wife/significant other, family, and friends.
WOW,
I have everything except the color corrector. I had visited the MAC counter and the ladies there set me up with a foundation that works on it’s own.
