Stepping out publicly as a woman is a powerful way to validate your female self.
In fact, I recently published a poll asking “How often do you go out in public as a woman?”
I was happy to see that the majority of my readers (transgender women and crossdressers) go out at least occasionally.
No matter how often you do it, I’m sure you can remember your first time presenting as a woman or crossdressing in public.
Since this is such an important gender-affirming step, I’d love to hear about it!
When was it? Where did you go? And what was your experience?
Please share with us in the comments below!
And if you’ve never been en femme in public, I’m sure you’ll find lots of inspiration in these stories.
As always, thank you for reading and participating!
Love,
Lucille

Hi– Developing the confidence to do so is what we all know it takes. Since Women are looked upon most often by men it is important to feel feminine. Certainly this is the ultimate vulnerability. To be seen in a skirt or dress and heels and know that from most angles you are a flower should make your heart flutter just a bit. Unless you take the time to practice and see yourself recorded you won’t have the opportunity to correct anything. So, doing this first for a while helps me become more of a smiler, walking correctly, swingingmy arms correctly -ALL while loose’and relaxed! Then the ultimate is to sit.
So, we do care what others think. That being a woman gives you a certain power of expression in a particular garment that nothing nowhere else does. It is an opportunity to be coy or sexy or both.
The ultimate is to be able to speak. Annunciation like a true intelligent woman who loves herself.
Hope this is not too much,
Kristina
i picnic at a local park with a lady friend, i LOVE being out, but haven’t interacted at all yet. Walks, fill the car with gas, picnics, that’s it so far… looking forward to expanding my experiences!
I go out dressed as often as I can. I enjoy dressing up as a woman in public. I don’t care what other people think when I go out dressed. Dressing up as a woman is a part of who I am and I wouldn’t do anything to change that. I have tried to fight my desire to dress, but then realized it a part of my personality. I just decided to go for it and be true to myself. I’m a crossdresser and very proud of it. I prefer women’s clothes to men’s clothes because I love the way they look and feel on my body. I own an exstensive woman’s wardrobe. I own over 30 pairs of women’s shoes. I admire women so much,I enjoy dressing like them.
I am now 63 and have been going out since age 20. I shop, eat in restraunts, use the ladies washrooms and dressing rooms. I dress age appropriate and to blend in. I don’t worry about my voice, just use a softer volume. I have only been read twice that I know of. People now a days don’t care. Just be comfortable with your self and go for it.
Just went out for the first time. Wet look leggings and faux leather ankle boots with awesome heel. Leather coat and hat pulled down. Just walked around the local area late at night practising my hip swing and heels. It was amazing. Lots of cars passing and a few other pedestrians. Planning a trip to a local city soon. Want to nail it 🙂 Tonight was exciting. I want go out for a walk again lol
I don’t go out very often. My most memorable time was flying from my home in OK to VA. Had a great time doing it.
