There are a lot of details that go into creating an attractive feminine image. From clothing and hair to makeup and shoes – the list can seem endless!
If you’re a crossdresser or transgender woman preparing for your male to female makeover, you’re in the right place.
To help you stay organized, I’ve crafted a simple Flawless Feminine Image Checklist.
Can you confidently answer “YES” to these 10 questions?
If you can, you’re all set to showcase your fabulous feminine self to the world!
10 Elements of a Flawless Feminine Image
1. Is your shapewear helping to enhance your feminine curves?
Your body’s silhouette powerfully communicates your gender identity to the world. Are you using the right undergarments to achieve your ideal feminine shape?
Here are some recommended items to have in your wardrobe:
- Breast forms
- A properly fitting bra
- Waist cincher or shaping camisole
- Padded panties with butt and hip padding
- Control top pantyhose or tights
While you don’t need to wear all of these pieces at once, they’re good to have on hand in case you want to enhance your shape to match a specific outfit.
2. Are you wearing stylish and flattering clothes that suit your body shape?
Selecting the right clothing is crucial to achieving a polished look. Opt for stylish and flattering clothes that complement your body shape and personal style.
Understanding your body proportions will help you choose outfits that not only fit well but also enhance your femininity.
3. Does your makeup look natural, well-balanced, and attractive?
A common makeup mistake, especially for those just starting their male-to-female makeup journey, is going overboard. When presenting as a woman, it’s important to avoid this error.
In most cases, a light and natural makeup look is the way to go. However, there are two exceptions to keep in mind:
- If you have darker coloring, you can opt for deeper and bolder shades.
- When heading out for an evening event, you can embrace higher-intensity makeup to suit the occasion.
4. Is your skincare routine giving you a clear and radiant complexion?
A clear and radiant complexion is the foundation of any feminine image. Develop a skincare routine tailored to your skin type that includes cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection.
Regular exfoliation and hydration will leave your skin glowing and ready to showcase your makeup skills.
5. Does your hairstyle flatter your face shape with a feminine touch?
Beautiful hair is an important part of your overall image. To soften masculine facial features, choose a hairstyle with soft waves or layers. Stay away from angular styles.
Shiny hair makes you look sexy and youthful, so use a smoothing serum if you have dry or frizzy hair. I like Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum for Frizzy, Dry Hair.
If you wear a wig, be sure to wash it regularly and use a finishing spray like Bonfi Natural Oil-Free Wig Shine Spray.
6. Do you exude confidence and poise through your body language and gestures?
Confidence is the key to a flawless feminine image. Work on exuding confidence and poise through your body language and gestures.
Stand tall, maintain eye contact, and move gracefully. Confidence is not only attractive but also empowering.
7. Have you been practicing a feminine voice and communication skills?
Perfecting a feminine voice and honing your communication skills are essential aspects of your transformation.
Seek guidance from voice coaches or speech therapists to help you achieve a voice that aligns with your feminine image.
Effective communication is the bridge that connects your inner self with the world.
8. Are your nails well-groomed and looking their best?
Your hands and nails are often noticed, so keeping them well-groomed is essential.
Regular manicures, proper nail care, and choosing feminine nail colors can enhance your overall image.
9. Are you wearing jewelry and accessories that complement your outfit?
Accessorizing can elevate your outfit and add a personal touch to your style. Choose jewelry and accessories that complement your clothing and express your unique taste.
From statement necklaces to elegant earrings, the right pieces can complete your look beautifully.
10. Are you embracing your unique femininity and staying true to yourself?
Above all, remember to embrace your unique femininity and stay true to yourself.
Your journey is about self-expression and authenticity. Be proud of who you are, and let your inner beauty shine through!
In Conclusion
If you answered “yes” to each of the questions on this checklist, then congratulations! Now it’s time to step out and enjoy your flawless feminine image.
Be sure to keep this checklist handy so you can refer to it each time you present yourself as a woman.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is there anything you would add to this list? Please share your comments below!

Just a comment about tights. If I have had time to either shave, wax or use hair removal cream I am able to wear all tights, whether they are sheer, semi opaque or opaque. If I have a bit of hair growth on my legs I will always wear fully opaque tights. By this I mean a minimum of 100 denier, there is nothing worse than trapped hair under your tights. In this example I am wearing 200 denier black opaque tights, sorry about my face looking away but not all my friends and family know I dress up.
Hi Lucille, Great news. I found Long Tall Sally.com on the web. Just checked out their shoes and they have 427 choices of them. All in extra long sizes 11-15’s. I think many trans-women would love to see their selection.

1: Is your makeup appropriate?
Yes I feel that it is. I have learned to do my makeup from cis women but also had makeup lessons. Plus I attended a sissy academy in the 1980s and was part of a class with 15 other ‘girls’ that we were fine tuning our skills or learning to be a woman. This was for a month and we lived on the campus full time and as a female. Makeup 101, was one of our classes among others. I strive to look and appear as a real and natural woman and not like a flamboyant drag queen. I want to blend in. I do my makeup daily every morning.
I use a skin tone foundation as a base. I use a bit of light blue eye shadow and some black eye liner and sometimes false lashes. When not using the lashes I will use mascara. I do not over do my eyes. I use a rose colored blush on my cheeks and red lipstick that always matches the shade of red on my nails. I blend it all together with a light covering of a translucent face powder.
2: Is your hair shiny and freshly styled?
Many times I have grown my own hair out so I would not have to use wigs. When I had to work as a male to support myself I did use wigs when being a woman on my off time. My hair is grown out now because I live totally and full time as a woman. I do have a regular beautician/cosmetologist that keeps my hair, nails and other things done for me and she is a cis woman. She knows what I really am and that I was born male. She keeps my secret and the other female patrons in her shop think that I am a real woman. She sometimes will ask me questions about being born male but living as a woman if we are alone in her salon. My stylist keeps my hair in a long pageboy cut for me. My bangs come down to just above my eyebrows and the rest falls down passed my shoulders. This works well for me cuz my bangs cover my forehead and only the center portion of my face is exposed and my ears are covered but my earrings, large gold hoops or 3” dangling rhinestones can be seen. Only my throat can be seen and this style hides the rest of my neck. My neck is still a bit thicker than most females. I have never had a pronounced Addams Apple but I still wear an inch wide choker to cover it when out in public. I was born with dark hair but am now a redhead. I do use Pantene shampoo and conditioner.
3: Are you wearing the right shapewear?
I think so! I do not use breast forms of any sort anymore since developing my own C cup breasts. I do wear a bra much of the time and have several different styles from full coverage to pushup and demi bras. I do not wear a bra sometimes if I’m wearing a women’s tank to or T-shirt and never wear a bra with a boob tube covering my breasts.
Being I live as a woman I have an extensive female wardrobe and do not have any male clothing left at all or anything else that is male.
I wear corsets and waist cinchers to help give me the hourglass shape of a woman. I do have cinchers that I wear under one piece swimsuits and other female garments but most have attached garters or attachable garters cuz I am a garters ’n hose girl. Sometimes I will just wear a garter belt to hold up my hose but it depends a lot on what I’m wearing.
I do often wear a butt shaper panty that is similar to a panty girdle. Since I was younger and in fem modes I have done what would be considered ‘women’s exercises’. I still do these exercises regularly which are; women’s aerobics and floor exercises plus I have done exercises that target my butt and I have been told numerous times that I do have a woman’s butt. I do not need any padding on my butt cuz it gives me too much butt, if you know what I mean. The butt shaper with its molded seat and center back seam lifts and separates the buttocks giving the wearer a sexier, shapelier and more womanly bottom. I do stuff thin hip pads in the sides of my butt panty to widen my hips a bit. The old fashion panty girdle with hip and butt pads can give a girl an unnatural look. My shaper does have a lace covered tummy panel on the front and control top pantyhose is not needed.
4: Are the proportions of your outfit correct?
I would say mostly yes! I live as a woman, think of myself as a woman and have much experience at being a woman. My dresses and skirts do come several inches above my knees. I do wear some halter top dresses to narrow my shoulders and my swimsuits are also halter top. My one piece swimsuits are on the conservative side cuz I wear foundation garments underneath; waist cincher and butt shaper so I do not have to high of a leg cut and my cincher is fairly concealable. The way I tuck also makes me look like a woman down below and without any male bulge and with a swimsuit or panties I have the V down below.
Depending on the manufacturer my dress sizes can vary. I can wear a 12-14 but do have some looser fitting dresses that are a 16. My wedding dress was a size 14 white satin and lace cocktail dress. My bra size is a 38C, panty size is 7 and 8 and my shoe size is an 11 in women’s but I was a 9 in men’s.
I don’t just wear dresses and skirts but also have jeans and athletic shoes that are women’s style and sizes.
5: Are you wearing the right accessories?
As I say, I am a woman! I do my best to look like a woman. I have 2 cocktail dresses similar to the one in the picture; one is an LBD and the other is a medium shade of blue. They are back zip and have built in bra cups that lift my boobs and push them to the center to create cleavage and I luv having my own cleavage like any other woman. I feel so very and ultra feminine having my own cleavage. Those 2 dresses are not the only dresses that I have but those 2 do give me that kind of shape when I’m wearing the right under garments. I have short long sleeve jackets that come down just under my boobs to go with them. Garter bumps from where my garter clips are attached to the stocking welts can sometimes be seen when I wear one of those dresses. Some of my other dresses or skirts I will sometimes wear a 3” wide elastic stretch belt around my waist to give my shape a more feminine illusion.
I do have accessories such as earrings and my ear lobes are pierced. I have pairs or large gold or silver hoops and a few pairs of 3” long dangling rhinestone or pearl earrings, necklaces and other things to wear around my neck and throat and also some 1” wide fabric chokers. I do not have a pronounced Addams Apple but still like wearing a choker or necklace while out in public. Some neckwear I have I do have matching bracelets for. I do have a faux mink fur wrap that I sometimes wear around my shoulders when I’m out with my husband.
6: Are you wearing the right shoes?
I do wear heels mostly and also mostly high heel ankle strap sandals with 3” heels with a flat sole. I am 5’8” barefoot so I don’t want to be too much taller and that is one of the reasons for a flat sole. My husband is 6”1” and I do not want to be taller than him when wearing heels and 3” heels make me about 5’11”. I do have a couple of pair that has 4” heels for special occasions that make me about 6 feet. I do have some pumps and wedge soles but I wear stiletto heels mostly because they are sooo sexy. I also like the ankle strap sandals cuz the open heel and toe are sexy to wear. I keep my toes pedicured and painted the same shade of red as my fingernails and lipstick, my beautician does my pedicures for me.
My other shoes are women’s athletic shoes; one pair is a pink and white Reeboks and the other a white pair of Nike with a teal emblem on the sides.
7: Are you carrying the right bag?
I have a few purses! I have my day purses, which are a larger bag with a shoulder strap for casual or when I go shopping, etc. But for going out and when my husband takes me out I do carry a clutch in my hand that matches my attire. My purses have the usual contents of a woman’s purse. I do have a fake picture ID of me as a woman, (Nevada DL) that I carry for effect but keep my male ID stuck behind it in case I get hassled by law enforcement. I also have a change purse that I also carry bills in. The other contents are spare makeup, tube of lipstick, small bottle of my Giorgio perfume (one must smell like a woman ya know), hair brush, and for affect a couple of tampons and for protection if needed, pepper spray. I do carry a tazer in my casual day purse but it is a bit big for my smaller hand held clutch.
8: Do you smell good?
I smell like a woman! My invisible accessories that one cannot see on me are my Giorgio perfume and my squirt on female pheromones to give me the scent of a woman. I use the pheromones along with my perfume. I am hoping to find a female pheromone in an eatable form like a pill, capsule, powder or liquid so I can have a female scent all the time, that is if they make such a thing.
I bathe daily with Dove or Carress soap and other brands popular with women. I use deodorants that are popular with women; Dove, Secret, Ladies speed Stick, Degree, Arrid, etc.
9: Have you removed all excess hair?
Yes, in all the necessary places! My body hair has thinned over the years with my diminishing testosterone levels and estrogen regimen. But I still have some and I regularly shave the places that most women do; arm pits, legs, butt crack, and sometimes arms and I had to keep my pubic hair shaved when using my old latex silicone device for tucking. It is a prosthetic vulva that looks real and lifelike but I had to glue it on with a medical adhesive.
But now I am doing something new and different for tucking that looks very real and natural using a medical adhesive/glue that surgeons are using to close incisions. First thing that has to be done is the testicles have to be inserted back up into the body the same place they came from before they entered the scrotal sac. If done right and gently there is no discomfort, they are just up where they were originally. Being they are up inside my body I sometimes imagine them as my ovaries. Next the penis has to be snugly tucked back between the legs over the scrotal sac with the skin of the sac on each side of the penis. A few drops of this glue on the back side of the penis will hold it secured back up and between and out of the way and a girl can tinkle this way but of course it has to be sitting down or squatting, and what’s wrong with that! This adhesive is similar to Super Glue or Krazy Glue so one has to be careful using it and a little goes a long way (it is expensive) so one does not want to get any of the adhesive on their fingers and make any contact with their groin or else they may have to walk around with finger or hand attached between their legs. After that part is done then pinch together the flesh just above the groin where a woman’s slit or gash (men have called it different things) starts but it is the top and start of the vaginal lips and labia. Start the gluing right there and keep pinching and pressing the flesh together as you work your way down creating the vaginal lips then on down to the scrotal skin and puling it over the penis and gluing it on each side. Use the skin from the scrotum to help create vaginal lips also. If done properly one should look like they have a vulva/vagina down there. Of course one will not have the vaginal opening but the end result will resemble a female sex organ. Vaseline does help break down the adhesive when and if needed. I remove mine for cleaning and maintenance about every 5 days while my husband is at work during the day. My husband is not a gay man but a masculine bisexual that has been with both sexes but prefers a woman like me and he tells me that my vulva looks very real and like a woman if I’m standing nude. Yes with my breasts and my female vulva I do look like a woman when nude. The brand of adhesive I use is called Dermabond and can be found in some pharmacies and I stay looking like a woman all the time now.
10: Did you check yourself from behind?
Yes I do this several times a day! I have a tri-fold stand up dressing mirror that I use for this. If my husband is taking me out for a date night, after I’m all done and dolled up I check myself from different angles. I also check myself every morning after getting up and doing my makeup, brushing my hair and dressing to start my day as a woman. I am a woman and looking like a woman is very important to me!
There have been times that I was able to live full time as a woman in the past and also worked as a woman. But I had to go back to being male for one reason or another but this time after retirement and never having to go back to being male again my womanhood is permanent. I have already told my husband that if I pass before he does I want to be put to rest as a woman. The word ‘woman’ has a special intimate meaning to me and I get a special feeling when I hear the word.
Luv,
Julie Lisa

Like a lot of women LOL
Hi Lucille, as usual your comments are so helpful and really give women like me the confidence to continue living as we want. As we all know, it can be a hard place for born women, let alone women in my situation. It’s been a while since I had negative comments and this site does help me focus on my feminine side. I’m also lucky in that my sister also supports me and is great with her positive comments – and the odd negative one as well. Keep up the great work.
