Hair removal can significantly enhance your femininity and attractiveness, especially in the bikini area. After all, who doesn’t want to feel extra pretty in their panties?
In this blog post, I’ll share everything you need to know about bikini hair removal for crossdressers and trans women.
We’ll explore the best hair removal methods, their pros and cons, and important tips you won’t want to miss.
So, let’s get started on achieving a smooth and flawless bikini area!
Shaving
Shaving is a simple and affordable method of removing hair from the bikini area, allowing for convenient at-home hair removal.
Pros:
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Inexpensive compared to other hair removal methods
- Conveniently done in the comfort of your own home
Cons:
- Potential for razor burn, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps
- Hair regrowth can happen quickly and feel coarse or stubbly
- Requires frequent upkeep to maintain smooth skin
Tips:
- Start with exfoliation: Gently exfoliate the bikini area before shaving to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
- Use a sharp razor: Ensure you’re using a clean, sharp razor blade to minimize irritation and achieve a closer shave.
- Shave in the direction of hair growth: Shave in the same direction as hair growth to reduce the likelihood of razor burn and ingrown hairs.
- Moisturize afterward: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer after shaving to soothe and hydrate the skin.
Waxing
Waxing is a popular method for MTF bikini hair removal, offering longer-lasting results compared to shaving. It can be done at home or by a professional.
Pros:
- Results last longer than shaving
- Slower hair regrowth, often resulting in finer hair
- No more shaving nicks or cuts
Cons:
- Can be painful, especially for those with sensitive skin
- Can be expensive, particularly when done at a salon
- Risk of ingrown hairs, especially in the bikini area
Tips:
- Trim hair to a suitable length: Trim bikini hair to about a quarter-inch before waxing for more effective results.
- Test wax temperature: Check the wax temperature on a small area to avoid burns.
- Stretch the skin: Hold the skin taut while applying the wax strip to minimize discomfort and ensure a cleaner removal.
- Apply soothing products: After waxing, apply a soothing gel or aloe vera to calm the skin and reduce redness or inflammation.
Depilatory Creams
Depilatory creams, also known as hair removal creams, dissolve the hair at the skin’s surface using chemicals.
Pros:
- Can be done at home
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Slower hair regrowth compared to shaving
Cons:
- Chemicals in the cream can cause skin irritation
- Results may not last as long as other methods
- Strong odor
Tips:
- Patch test first: Perform a patch test on a small area to check for adverse reactions or allergies before applying the cream to a larger area.
- Follow the instructions: Read and carefully follow the instructions on the depilatory cream packaging for safe and effective use.
- Apply an even layer: Use a spatula or applicator to apply a smooth, even layer of the cream for full coverage.
- Remove with caution: Gently remove the cream at the specified time using a damp cloth or the provided spatula, avoiding rubbing or scraping the skin.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution by targeting and destroying hair follicles using laser technology, resulting in reduced hair growth over time.
Pros:
- Long-lasting results
- Less painful than waxing
- Eliminates ingrown hairs
Cons:
- Can be expensive
- Multiple sessions required for optimal results
- Not effective on all hair types and skin tones (especially light hair and dark skin tones)
Tips:
- Consult a professional: Seek a consultation with a licensed professional to determine if laser hair removal is suitable for you and discuss the specific treatment plan.
- Avoid sun exposure: Minimize sun exposure to the bikini area before and after laser sessions to reduce the risk of skin damage or pigmentation changes.
- Shave before treatment: Shave the bikini area a day or two before your laser session to enable effective targeting of hair follicles without burning surface hair.
- Follow aftercare instructions: Adhere to the recommended aftercare instructions provided by the professional, which may involve avoiding hot baths, exfoliation, or specific skincare products to protect the treated area.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
IPL is similar to laser hair removal, but it uses a different kind of light. Instead of a concentrated laser beam, IPL uses a broader spectrum of light that isn’t as focused.
Because of this, IPL can cover a larger treatment area, but it takes more sessions since the light is less powerful.
Pros:
- Faster than laser hair removal since it covers a larger area
- Good availability of at-home devices
- Usually less painful than laser hair removal
Cons:
- Requires more sessions compared to laser hair removal
- More risk of irritation due to the broader light spectrum used
- Can only be used on lighter skin tones / darker hair tones
Tips:
- Choose the right device: Invest in a high-quality IPL device that is suitable for your skin and hair type. (The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 is popular choice among my blog readers.)
- Prepare your skin: Before using IPL, shave your skin to ensure that the IPL light targets the hair follicles directly.
- Follow the treatment schedule: Consistency is key for effective IPL hair removal, so be sure to follow the treatment schedule provided by the manufacturer.
- Protect your skin: After IPL treatment, your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. Apply sunscreen to the treated areas whenever they are exposed to the sun.

I can’t imagine with all the see-through lingerie that women wear today of anyone not taking care of their feminine pubic area. Removing all the hair is not only more hygienic and clean, but so much more sexy and appealing to see when wearing lingerie, a swim suit, or even my thong bikinis. It may take a little more time and effort to do so, but what a wonderful payoff.
Depilatories weren’t mentioned. I can’t stay out of this one.
Shaving works, depilatories are much better. That said, a warning follows.
Let’s use Nair since that is what I use, for an example. The instructions say test run it. Do not leave on over 10 minutes.
Firstly, you need to thin out the jungle, cut it short. Then apply somewhat lavishly to the pube area. I’m not talking about a light coat, bury the hair in the cream. It dries rapidly. While waiting get your shower ready for the rinse. Use a puff in the shower to help remove the hair. I know the instructions say not too. It’s a cover thy ass world.
Nair is notorious for burning one privates. Be careful. Just like shaving your skin needs to get used to this stuff. Over time I worked up to over 20 minutes with Nair. And yes I got my scrotum burned a few time on the journey up. It’s a little reminder of how nice it feels when it quits hurting. hehee!
End result, smooth as babies butt for a couple of weeks. Try that with a razor.
An EX GF used something by a “Sally” that we left on for 30 minutes and it didn’t burn me but she had a breakout on her legs. Wish I would have kept the bottle. 🙁
BTW! Since we are on TABOO subjects. Intercourse with two totally bare as a baby butt pubes together is, shall I say Exquisite!
Have fun experimenting, be careful with the stuff and the above paragraph says it all.
I gave up on using Nair after I found that Veet didn’t stink so much.
I quickly migrated to IPL use for the parts that I can reach on my own, though.
Laurie, The Sally is Sally Hansen. But I found that Nair worked better for me. BUT!!! TAKE A SHOWER FIRST. You don’t have to be totally dry. Also no need to trim.Actually works better with the hair long.I’d leave it on for 10 minutes, no longer. Then rinse it off in the shower under cool water. Warm or hot water could cause irritation. There might be some itching as, or after you rinse it off. DON’T SCRATCH. It should go away in a few minutes. I would just rub the itch with my hand. I hope this helps you or anyone else looking to get rid of hair. And yes it is the best feeling to be hairless. Oh! Shaving never worked for me. No matter how I did it. don
hi girls let me share something with you out there when i shave my legs and body and pubic area i have always use nair or sally hansen hair removal creme and never had a problem just follow the direction and you should alright] ladolfia
That would be a hair remover by Sally Hanson. The brand also makes nail products and home waxing kits. So far the best I have found is Aussie Nads, an all organic room temp salve that acts like a waxing you put it on cover it with a cloth and rip it off fast. Best part is if you get hungry while using it you can eat it. Tastes good too. I use a tweeze on my face and arms and chest. Arms are good for a week or more, Chest for several days but still have to do face every 24 hrs. Love to all Charlene
Hi Laurie, I didn’t mention depilatories because they are not supposed to be used in the genital area. But I’m glad you had good results – and thanks for sharing your tips with us! I’m sure a lot of ladies will find this helpful.
Just be careful, girls!
Ive Kept smooth for at least past 10 years. But never shave. If you do, use a good Hair Conditioner instead of shave cream. I tweeze & also use the ” tweezie” it works great on the tight skin areas if you know what i mean. then i put on a hair inhibitor. the hairs i actually do still grow are very fine and limited. I enclosed few pix. My 1st time dressed closeup – My boobs & my bikini area.
i only hope my own breast will turn out that great your breasts are fabulous you look beautiful
Took about 2 years of herbs massage & pumping heres a photo of my My brunette day & smoothness
those are home grown natural
Crystal, Lovely breasts, did you grow them or are they implants?
Dear Lucille,
I just want to take the time to tell you, you are correct! There is nothing that makes me feel more feminine than seeing this picture! I wish the rest of me was as feminine as my little Priscilla! A girl, I met here on the internet, agreed with me, that it was a very feminine penis and deserved a girls name! She then named her, for me! I just had my fourth laser treatment a few weeks ago and love the looks! Very little regrowth now! If you want to be feminine the pubes have to go!
I shave both my pubic and chest areas. My girl friend got started when she surprised me by shaving her pubic area. BTW we still haven’t decided on my growing boobs. She wants me to and then to use a Ace bandage when necessary. It’s a big step for me. You’ll be the first to know. Love.
lucky you bill, wish my wife would let me grow some breasts. any way good luck with everything
Had Brazilian waxes, now having ipl ~ much better results
I apologize, but could you explain to me what does ipl mean?
I HAVE BEEN SHAVING MY PRIVATE PARTS FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS IT FEEL GREAT
Question Richard,
Do you have a fem name, and i agree fully shaved the way to go.
Hi Lucille,
For me there is nothing that feels more feminine that having everything (except for the hair on my head of course) clean and smooth and hair free.
Thanks for the tips.
