One of the quickest ways to feel more feminine is to put on lipstick.
In fact, I say you aren’t fully dressed without a swipe of lipstick or lip gloss! This applies to everyone, including crossdressers and trans women.
Whether you like a subtle clear lip or a bold red pout, your favorite lip color reveals a lot about your feminine style.
Curious what your lip color preference says about YOU? Keep reading to find out and then participate in my lip color poll below!
Red = Confident
Red lipstick is sexy, classic, and bold. It projects confidence and self-assurance.
Go for red lips if you want to attract attention and show your sensual side.
Bright Pink = Bubbly
Bright pink lips are bubbly and energetic.
This is a bold, fun shade that projects playfulness. Wear bright pink lipstick if you want to be the proverbial life of the party.
Soft Pink = Feminine
Soft pink is a delicate, feminine lipstick shade. Choose this color if you’re the romantic type and want to look soft, sweet, and girly.
Mauve or Russet = Mysterious
Mauve and russet are muted lipstick shades with purple or brown undertones.
These understated colors are perfect if you want to appear mysterious, sophisticated, and intelligent.
Burgundy or Berry = Seductive
Burgundy and berry are deep, rich lip colors for those who aren’t afraid to make a statement.
They signal confidence and boldness, but with more seriousness than pure red or bright pink. Think sexy, seductive, and a bit mysterious.
Coral = Friendly
Coral is a beautiful peachy color with undertones of pink and orange. It’s a happy color that’s perfect for friendly, bubbly personalities.
Wear coral lipstick if you want to give off positive, optimistic vibes.
Nude = Warm
Nude lips are understated and classic. They give off a warm and caring vibe.
Nude lipstick is soft and feminine, but projects more seriousness than light pink lipstick.
Lip Gloss = Fun
Glossy lips, whether clear or with a hint of color, show off a fun personality that loves the spotlight.
Wear lip gloss if you want to give off a youthful vibe with a touch of glitz and glamour.
Lip Balm = No-nonsense
Maybe you don’t wear lipstick or lip gloss at all.
If bare lips or lip balm are your “colors” of choice, you show that you want to be taken seriously. You are no-nonsense, practical, and minimalistic.

I luv red & pink,I get a lot of compliments
I always love dark lipsticks. It really gives me a different and seductive look.
Oh, it’s SO affirming to find myself on the same road as most of you ladies, instead of my usual solitary path in the wilderness! Yes, I am also a red-lip person. But I also vary the color if it seems a good idea. Even when I’m working outside I make some concession to my public, so eyebrow pencil to darken my (very) faded brows, and of course, lipstick, is a minimum.
I liked an earlier comment about glitter. That’s a fun addition when it’s party time. I try to go easy on the forehead, though; it looks too much like sweat. But definitely some on the lips.
Fashion Nazis will say don’t vary from your natural shade once you find it. But I have an obscene suggestion for them there folks. (This isn’t it) It often works to let the colors of your ensemble suggest your lip color for the occasion.
Go shine, girls!
I am a girl of Nature, my religion is Wicca and for me forests and fields as like a water for fish. So my favourite color of a lipstick is a color of red wine and red berries tones:especcially cranberry and raspberry. And a color like this is printed “Leave a Reply”. I do make up every day despite of it’s a working day or day of vacation.
I like soft pink as it compliments my face
Hi Lucille
I voted for soft pink.
It’s not as flashy as a darker color and it blends well with my complexion
It also makes my face look younger than it is
Thanks for your support and advice
I always look forward to reading your tips on looking more feminine
I originally went with Burgundy because my Mother uses that color and our Face shape and Skin Tones are similar. I found a fabulous MakeUp App called
” Perfect 365″. With this App I tried Reds, Pinks and even try Blonde as a Hair Color before spending money on those items.
I purchased Pink Lipstick and a Blonde Wig because of Perfect 365. I great way to try different MakeUp colors before buying and not liking how your photos look.
Hm! Of course I do not limit myself to just one colour — I’ve sort of got all the shades pictured above (except perhaps coral — just because I didn’t buy it yet, I love it too!) — but obviously I use them according to the time of the day, the location I go to, and the mood I’m in. Possibly the colour I wear most is, yes, a variation of Soft Pink (see picture enclosed… if it shows at all), so I checked that one; although I often wear chocolate/bronze and some variations of nude. Red and bright pink? Oh YES! On special evenings, for sure! And sometimes during the day as well, although I admit that I tend to avoid them (around here, most women don’t wear lipstick at all, especially during the day, so I really don’t want to stand out too much… as if I could! lol). And I simply adore mauve and burgundy (and variations thereof); I tend to use both when I’m in the mood, mostly during ‘casual’ dinners, and more in the winter than in the summer…
Yeah… I know that’s way complicated! But, alas, being a T-girl isn’t easy…
I know a lot of T-girls who stick with one colour and never change (or at least I never saw them with any different colour). Red is usually the favoured choice by far. They might think I’m weird for wearing a lot of different shades (as well as red too! 🙂 )
