Is your height stopping you from confidently expressing your fabulous feminine self to the world? Well, it shouldn’t!
Sure, many crossdressers and transgender women tend to be taller than what’s considered “average” for females. But honestly, who cares?
Tall women are absolutely stunning!
However, if your aim is to play down your height a bit, there are some simple techniques that can help you achieve just that.
In this blog post for tall crossdressers and trans women, I share 4 easy ways to appear shorter.
1. Don’t Slouch
While you might be tempted to downplay your height by slouching, this is the first thing you’ll want to avoid.
Slouching isn’t attractive and it just makes it obvious that you’re not comfortable with your height.
So, resist the urge to slouch. Instead, stand tall! You’ll come across as confident and self-assured.
2. Wear the Right Shoes
If you want to appear shorter, it’s clear that you should avoid high heels. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re limited to flats!
Consider opting for shoes with a stylish kitten heel. A small heel adds elegance to your look without a significant height boost.
Additionally, these shoe styles can make your legs and feet appear shorter and smaller:
- Consider wearing shoes with straps over the instep or around the ankle. This helps break up the long line of your legs.
- Opt for shoes with rounded toes instead of pointy ones. This visually reduces the length of your feet.
3. Dress to Downplay Your Height
The clothes you wear have a huge impact on your overall appearance. Here are 5 dos and don’ts for downplaying your height:
- DO choose full skirts and dresses to draw the eye horizontally instead of vertically. (More width = less height.)
- DON’T wear super tight clothes. (Less width = more height.)
- DO wear a different color top and bottom to visually break up your figure.
- DON’T wear monochromatic outfits; this makes you look even taller.
- DO wear a contrasting belt to interrupt the eye from going straight up and down a long torso.
4. Choose the Right Hairstyle
The last thing to consider is your hair. The wrong hairstyle can make you look even taller, so here are 3 suggestions for avoiding unnecessary height:
- Avoid hairstyles with a lot of volume at the crown as this literally adds inches to your stature.
- Try a layered or wavy hairstyle that adds some volume around the sides of your face.
- Avoid wearing your hair too long since this tends to make you look even taller. Generally speaking, shoulder length hair is most flattering.
In conclusion
Don’t forget that tall women exude elegance, grace, and beauty! But if you’re still interested in downplaying your height, now you’ve got 4 simple tactics to try out.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. If you’re a tall crossdresser or transgender woman, how do you personally embrace your height?

Hi Girls,
I am a staggering 204cm tall and 22 years old, but still wear pumps and heeled boots on a daily basis. They make me feel like a complete woman when I am wearing them, not to mention the toning that they do for my calf muscles that could do with a lot more toning. Besides, they form part of my EN FEMME Staples in my ever updating wardrobe.
Jess
Wow Jessica, now that is tall. I’m 190 and abt 90 Kg(196lb). Still closeted due not feeling I could blend due to my height and masculine features like broad shoulders, fat bulging tummy and facial shape. It’s not going to stop me trying though and I’m seriously thinking about gettin Locille’s breast dev programme.
Best wishes to you Jessica and to all you ladies on here.
Anne-Marie
P.S. Lets keep safe out there.
What happened to be yourself. I’ve be going out a number of years as an carrer type woman, nothing flashy and I’ve had very few problems. I’m tall and heavy set and I just blend in with the crowd.
I agree, Mariam. “Be yourself” is the best advice!
BTW, did you notice that none of the 6 foot tall (or taller) ladies in my poll are doing anything to downplay their height? They are all wearing heels and slinky dresses that emphasize their height! Whether you want to use my tips to downplay your height – or do the opposite to play it up – is your choice. But regardless, “be yourself!” 😉
here’s a thought. ever notice that most runway models are 5’10” and over. I always thought that ODD! considering the AVG woman’s height. Ive commented about height 6 2 being a major disadvantage in crowds yet I believe I pass well standing by my self. what I complained about out say At the malll, is being tall is some thing that makes me stand out from the rest, so people automatically will look and scrutinize more. a shorter person will not get that attention getting 1st look that more use in crowds. I’m guilty of it. just zipping down walkways not really paying attention to those around me till something about a person stands out from the normal. Here in Oregon, if you was @ the mall and a woman was in heels, she’d get more attn/scruitiny than a mall in New York, only because most women here avoid wearing heels unless they believe the have to. My time other areas of country seems to reflect this also.

Hands, Feet and Arms — you should not worry about the size but take the time to soften yourself. Soft arms and hands make you much more attractive and your femininity will be more woman like. Please use cream three or more times a day and yes, hormones and herbs help soften your features as a woman — lol Jimmy
