Traveling opens up new perspectives and can be especially freeing if you’re a crossdresser or transgender woman.
When you take a trip, it’s a chance to express your feminine self without the routines and expectations of everyday life.
Being your true self in a fresh, unfamiliar place can feel incredibly empowering!
Considering all the benefits of taking a transgender or crossdressing vacation, I’d love to know: Do YOU travel en femme?
Take my poll and share your MTF travel experiences or dreams in the comments!

Lucille

I recently drove en femme across Canada from one ocean to the other. It was dream come true to live a feminine lifestyle day-in and day-out. To wake up every morning as a woman, apply makeup, do my hair and make myself ready for the day’s drive and stops along the way. It was a 10 day confirmation that I can be the woman I so long to be.
I go everywhere enfemme by myself and with others. I love my time with women and enjoy time with them and mingling with them.
I have been travelling en femme together with my aunt , and I really enjoyed dressing as a woman be mingling in a women.
I travel all the time dressed.Only major Problem is Needing a bath room. where possible I use the ladies room, and look for a unisex bathroom. Otherwise I enjoy traveling dressed as Willinda.
Yes!! All the time, and I love it! Even though I am not 100% passable, I have had no hassles in restrooms, service stations, stores, motels, campgrounds, nowhere. People are just wonderful, usually nice and friendly. Those who are surly seem to be ones who are that way to everybody. These days, everyone likes your money, so even if you don’t match the perfect feminine ideal, you are already welcome. So go for it, girls ( with sensible judgment, for example involving laws or questionable territory), just keep smiling and act like you belong, and you will…
Travelling when you don’t need a passport or similar documents such as drivers licence is fun but when you need to show documents when travelling en femme it can get a bit harrowing or you can get tossed in the clink for using someone else’s documents. This is NO FUN at all and which is why I do not like travelling as I would like to. Has anyone else had this problem as well????
Luv Laurie
Hi Laurie,
See my reply to Angel St. Marie (page 30?). If your appearance doesn’t match your passport they won’t admit you (unless you get lucky). But even crossing the border en-masculine (ie matching your documents) you can still get into trouble, if you’re alone or not travelling with a woman, just for having your female clothes and things with you. Unfortunately, I find that authorities are still woefully ignorant of all things tg, including the border officials in my situation who hadn’t heard of Fantasia in Provincetown, Mass even though it’s the biggest and longest running tg gathering in the US (world?). Luckily I had reference material with me.
cheers,
Ronae
Love the poll and comments. I usually wear women’s underwear under my guy clothes. But am slowly moving toward full time. I live in Portland Oregon and to my knowledge there isn’t another city anywhere that is more accepting of crossdressing even when obvious. I am from a era when men were men and women were women so there is some “shame’ involved in my crossdressing. though I am slowly ever so slowly overcoming that issue. Please keep up the great work. I do soo luv the work that you are doing. Rhonda
First, thank you to all of you lovely ladies, for your inspirational stories. Now for mine.
This summer will be the fourth year for two camping long weekends(only one weekend the first year). The first trip, I put male clothes over my other to drive approx 2 hours. Then changed just before my arrival, and changed just after leaving. The second time, I very nervously, drove as Jessica, wondering what could happen if I get stopped. I don’t speed, and I drive like a sane person, so they have no reason to stop me. Every trip after, I have confidently drove as Jessica, and now look forward to the trips.
These trips over the years, have given me the confidence to finally come out to family and friends. I bowl once a week in a local LGBT bowling league. I am now considering making the full switch.
This summer I will be on a cruise. Unfortunately, due to some younger nieces who don’t know yet, I will be unable to be Jessica:(
And now with your stories, I look forward to any future travel.
Lovs, Jessica.
