Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

I am 65 years old and crossdress plus I do drag show so your never to old
I am turning 55 this year. And I am very thankful in way in how I look as Darlene. But I don’t think I could transition at my age. I am a crossdresser and I still feel good as being a man just as well as being female. I do have the most greatest respect in others in their transition at any age. I wish all of you the best and love to you all for being you.
Time, Age and Money can be limiting factors, but, I have been permanently disabled since 1999 due to physical and mental illness. I started transition in 2000. Some of that time I had very little in terms of resources, but, managed to do it – and it can be done. It’s 17 years I have been on HRT, my name was changed 14 years ago and all my legal documents have my correct gender (I just got my birth certificate in August and moved in October) and just got my driver license here in Oregon – using my birth certificate so no longer is a doctor needed to give me
“Permission”. Transition is as much about attitude as it is presentation. Be who you are, let the haters hate and everyone else love the real you! <3
Hi Nicci thank you for the support I’m disabled too I don’t get much on my benefits so it’s a struggle I’m just down a bit and discouraged but I keep going best I can I tried to transition but had to postpone temporarily still waiting to get started with the transition again Love MJ
Thanks for the positive attitude – it gives me more confidence and less guilt in pursuing my femme side at my older age!! Also, comments in this forum helps me understand that there are others who face similar issues and I draw much encouragement from that.
Hi Everyone,
I’m 75 and the pic was taken about two weeks ago at a club . I never plan to transition because I’m a guy who just loves being dressed. I don’t have any plans of quitting in the near future.
I am very lucky: I was born in 1943 but my body and soul remain young – except my face. But when I wear my female latex mask I can feel: I am a real pretty elegant young lady.
No you are never to old. I am 65 and I love togo out dressed. I own over 40 pair of shoes, several wigs, lingerie, and I love wering it all.
I also believe that age is simply a number, having been a crossdresser for most of my life (late teens is earliest memory), I still dress as often as I can, I feel so much better when I make the change from one side to the other, I only wish I could make it permanent. However, in the atmosphere that I live in that is not possible, so I make do. To all who have made it, I offer my congratulations (and jealousy LOL). I am now 62 and enjoy my time as a lady very much and will continue as long as I can. There is something to be said about the feelings when one puts on that dress and shoes each time.
