Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!

Lucille

I didn’t start coming out till I was 56 but I think that for the most of us once we did we think why didn’t I do it sooner. For me I was trying to conform to the so called norms of society. But deep within me we the urges to express my fem side. Once I embraced it I felt liberated and became more outgoing. I went to a sewing class, I learned to be more fashion minded. It took me about a year to find the look that fit my inner fem side. I became more concerned about my weight and lost 100 lbs. I now find I have more options on what I can wear. The only negative aspect is it has made it harder with my long hair to find a new job. My love for life has been increased.
I started as a early teen and have continued ever since . I started wearing my mothers cloths and under wear . I have never looked back and thanks to your program I now have breast and hope to get to 38d . Thank You and I am a true believer in your progam . Keep the tips coming .
I agree that age does not matter. I have no wish to be a woman, I just love the clothes and the transformation. I have been dressing since I was about 8, I am now 64 and loving it even more.
Julie
Julie, if you are not on hormones (herbs or other),
you ought to be, you make a very smart looking
woman.
Laurie
Thank you for your nice comments, I am not on any hormones, its corsets and waist clinchers.
Of course not! Women come in every type of build and every age. I’ve been living full time since I was 17 (that was 1968) and I was concerned that as I got older I would become less and less feminine. Not true at all! I am looked on more favorably now than ever and people always compliment me that I NEVER look my age!
The only thing I have to recommend is that you DRESS for your age! Even though I still have great legs, you’ll NEVER find me in a miniskirt anymore. Only knee length or longer.
I know this other girl my age and she ALWAYS get clocked! Why? Because she insists on dressing like she’s still a teenager. So girls, DRESS FOR YOUR AGE! That includes your hairstyle, perfume, nails, makeup, etc. Want to know what that looks like? Simple! Just look at other women in your area around you same age. Mimic them and blend in and you’ll forever be grateful that you did. I know I am.
You make me drool. You gave me hope
You pretty girl
Kimberly if that is your picture I am very impressed. I only wish i had started then as we are the same age. More happy years to us both.
You look very smart Kimberly, a lot of genetic women could take a leaf out of your book, good advice you gave.
Great advice. And you look fabu by the way!
I am 70 years young in April, I have only been crossdressing for just over a year. I thoroughly enjoy the experience and my only regret is that I did not start many years ago. I am totally in the closet at present but am ngoing on holiday to Spain soon where I hope to be able to dress every day
I absolutely agree! I was 48 when I decided to transition and live my life 24/7. I have been doing so ever since (now 50) and I’m happier than ever! I see a therapist, attend a support group both live and on the internet, and am in conversation with a surgeon. I love my new life and encourage others who are “in the closet” to come out! Do it now while you have the chance. Don’t wait ’till…..this that or the other thing. Before you know it, you could be dead, and then what???
So go for it girlfriends!!!
Paulette
I had SRS at 77! Yes, 77! I am now 79 and enjoying life like never before. I honestly believe that it’s NEVER too late! 🙂
Fantastic!! I am 74 and have been out to my wife for 3 to 4 years and to a couple of granddaughters for a little over a year.
Your note gives me courage.
Hi Lucille,
I agree with all that’s been said, don’t worry about
Your age, just dress and enjoy life.
I started dressing in my sisters clothes when I was
About nine years old and I’ve dressed ever since
Now in my classic woman’s clothes and I’ve just
Past seventy & hopefully I will enjoy this way of life
Until I join my sisters in the sky.
Love. Joanna
