Wearing lingerie is a guaranteed way to feel feminine. Best of all, it’s something you can indulge in on a daily basis.
What are the lingerie pieces every trans woman or crossdresser should own?
I’ve compiled a list of 10 must-have transgender / crossdressing lingerie items that should be part of your MTF wardrobe. Read on to learn more!
1. Basic Black Or Nude Bra
Every girl needs a basic bra, so a simple nude or black bra is a must.
If you’re having trouble finding your size, try the Leading Lady Lightly Padded Contour Underwire Bra. It comes in a wide range of sizes that would fit most crossdressers and transgender women. (Band sizes 36-54, cup sizes A-G)
2. Panty Gaff
For a flat and feminine look, a panty gaff is your best friend. A gaff is an undergarment designed to offer a smooth and tucked appearance. Here are a few options:
- Gold Seal Gaff by The Dress Form Store
- Super Strong Hiding Gaff by Suddenly Fem
- Thong Gaff by Glamour Boutique
3. Shaping Camisole
Who couldn’t benefit from a little mid-section slimming? A shaping camisole can help you slim down your waist and stomach without constricting you like a corset or girdle would. I like the camisoles from Yummie, which go up to a size 3x.
4. Padded Panty
If you crave feminine curves (and who doesn’t?), padded panties offer an instant solution. Your options range from light lifting to full-on hip and butt shaping. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Light shaping – Ulta Sheer Padded Panty by FeelFoxy
- Medium shaping – The Glamour Gal Silicone Hip and Butt Padded Shaper
- Full shaping – Veronicas by Classic Curves
5. Nude Or Black Pantyhose
While women don’t wear pantyhose as often as they used to, pantyhose looks more polished than bare skin and enhances the appearance of your legs. Your lingerie wardrobe should definitely include a pair of black and/or nude hose.
6. Slinky Nightie
There’s nothing like slipping into a slinky nightgown to make you feel extra feminine. Whether you prefer long or short, you should own at least one silky nightie. Or better yet, buy a few in different lengths and colors.
7. Basic Panties
Sometimes simple is best! Whether you prefer thongs, bikinis, or briefs, you should own at least a few basic panties.
8. Sexy Bra And Panty Set
While the basics are important, half the fun of lingerie is expressing your sensual side. That’s why no wardrobe is complete without at least one super sexy bra and panty set.
9. Nubra
The Nubra is an adhesive bra that’s fantastic for creating cleavage. Since it’s backless and strapless, it can be worn alone or under another bra. To learn how to create feminine cleavage with the Nubra, see my post on How to Get Feminine MTF Cleavage.
10. Silk Or Satin Robe
A silk or satin robe is a classic boudoir piece that will make you feel ultra feminine. You should have at least one so you have something sensual to slip into when you are at home.
Let’s talk lingerie!
It was hard to narrow this list to just 10 items, so I’d love to hear your thoughts…

I agree with you for the most part. I personally like to wear lace top stockings with a garterbelt, when en-femm. Always wear a bra but again prefer lacy styles. My man likes it when I am sexy for him but like to be sexy all the time.
Hello Lucille
Essentials in my wardrobe are 1 nude, and 2 black bras. I have invested in thongs & tangas (black, cream, and blue) from Victoria’s Secret, and I choose black/nude pantyhose. I also own panty corsellettes. As always, I consider the advice invaluable; and thank you so much, Lucille.
I agree with Denise on the nylons. I must have been tutored correctly, everything on the list is in my wardrobe.
Love all your post it has helped me greatly ..I love being my t rue self a woman n I’m getting better at it thanks again.. love u
No pantyhose–a garter belt and hose are better for day as well as night.
Just love this site!!
I have 2 top choices. First, for me are three items: a really nice bra + panty set from Macy’s under a classic Victorian satin + crepe long dressing gown – great for lounging around the house on a rainy Friday or Saturday evening when I’m sipping some wine, reading a novel, have on classical music, along with candles and the fireplace going. My favorite set is matching antique ivory trimmed in pale pink lace satin bows accents – high-waisted panty also high cut on the legs – bra is front-closure, wide 4″ stretch lace bra band in back, satin-ribbon shoulder straps, demi-cut lace soft-cups. Dressing gown goes to mid-calf, off-white, rolled satin spaghetti ties at waist and bow-ties at end of wide-flowing 3/4-sleeves, with lots of embroidered flowers and tiny faux pearls and satin bows all over. With silky smooth legs and no hose/stockings needed as it flows so light over my body.
Second is to be super sexy under a very average outfit. So when I’m out in a big city for the day in the business district/office towers, I’ve got my basic black pencil skirt and long-sleeve peach or pink or ivory rayon-crepe blouse with a blazer and what look like basic black hose + black flats. But underneath, I love to be in super-lacy pink padded push-up bra, matching stretch lace pink thong, and matching pink stretch lace + satin garter belt holding up Macy’s best black stockings, and then add my antique pale-pink stretch-nylon half slip with 3″ lace hem (feels wonderful over stockings and under satin lining in my skirt), and finish off with lacy camisole with rolled-satin spaghetti straps – so all those soft layers slide over my body all thru the day as I walk around or sit at a desk.
The black bra is beautiful!
many of these are a must! ( though I work in the adult entertainment world * t-girl* ) so many are a must for work. Off work though? Boy shorts and hipster style panties are wonderful comfortable, and for those pre-srs are great at providing alittle more fabric to help ” tuck” when need be. Fitted camisoles are wonderful as well! I would also say a corset and corset training for those wanting to put a little more work into an hourglass on top of good health practices!
