Are you ready to achieve the feminine curves of your dreams? If so, then breast forms are a must-have.
However, with so many breast form options available, choosing the perfect pair can seem overwhelming. Breast forms come in a wide range of materials, shapes, and sizes, making the decision process even more difficult.
That’s why I’m here to help!
In this blog post on transgender and crossdresser breast forms, I share the most important things to consider when selecting the best breast forms for your body shape and feminine style.
Let’s get started!
Breast Form Materials
Breast forms come in a variety of different materials. This is perhaps the most important thing to consider since it has a big impact on how comfortable the forms are and how realistic they look and feel.
Here’s a breakdown of the most common breast form materials:
Silicone
Silicone is the gold standard when it comes to breast forms. The advantage of silicone is that it feels very similar to natural breast tissue. Silicone breast forms have a lifelike shape, weight, and bounce.
Silicone breast forms can be worn with a pocketed bra, or they can be attached directly to the chest using medical-grade adhesive. This creates a seamless feel.
A major drawback of silicone breast forms is the price. A decent set of breast forms will cost you at least $100 and the larger the forms, the higher the price tag. High quality breast forms range in price from $350-$500+.
Here are some additional drawbacks of silicone breast forms:
- They are heavy, especially larger silicone breast forms.
- They can feel hot and sweaty on your chest.
- They can be damaged easily and must be handled with care.
- You can’t sleep in them as this will cause damage.
Other gel materials (Pals breast forms)
If you’re looking for breast forms that are less expensive and more durable than silicone, then you might want to consider Pals. Pals breast forms are made from a special blend of polymers and natural mineral oils.
Pals breast forms have a realistic feel and can be covered with makeup to blend with your skin tone. Unlike silicone breast forms, these forms can be trimmed to fit inside your bra.
Pals breast forms range in price from $99-$300 depending on the size and shape of the forms.
Here are some drawbacks of Pal breast forms:
- They can also absorb color from clothing, resulting in discoloration.
- Some people complain about the forms having a strong vanilla scent.
Foam
Foam breast forms don’t feel particularly realistic, but they have a couple advantages: They’re comfortable to wear and they’re cooler than silicone.
Foam breast forms are a good option for sleeping in or to wear on hot, humid days when silicone would leave you sweating.
You can find foam mastectomy forms starting at about $50.
A disadvantage to consider is that because foam is porous and absorbent, the breast forms can become dirty quickly.
Latex
Latex rubber breast forms are sometimes marketed to the crossdressing or transgender communities. (Medical grade mastectomy breast forms are never made of latex.)
Latex is cheaper than silicone and can duplicate the shape of breasts, but it lacks the realistic feel and bounce of silicone.
I generally don’t recommend latex breast forms. You’d be better off purchasing a pair of Pals breast forms or low cost “starter” silicone breast forms.
Breast Form Shapes
Now that we’ve covered breast form materials, let’s talk shape.
The shape of your breast forms will determine their overall appearance – whether that’s youthful and perky, or more natural and pendulous.
Oval / teardrop
The most common breast form shape is oval. Oval breast forms fit well in most bras and provide a very natural and “passable” look.
Teardrop breast forms are similar to oval breast forms, except that they have a longer tail. Depending on the look you are going for, they can be rotated with the thinner side straight up, to the side, or towards the shoulder.
Triangle
Triangle breast forms are another common shape. These have a more youthful and perky look compared to oval breast forms.
Triangle breast forms fill out most bras nicely and can be worn with both pocketed bras or regular bras.
Heart-shaped
A third, less common breast form shape is the heart. This form has two tabs extending towards the upper chest and armpit, resembling a heart. The look is also youthful and perky.
Choosing Your Breast Form Size
When it comes to breasts, size DOES matter! Choosing the right breast form size is very important.
While size is a personal choice, breasts that are too small or too large can look out of proportion with your overall body size and shape.
If you are small-framed, smaller breast forms will look good on you. On the other hand, if you are larger-bodied, a bigger breast form is a good fit. If you are trying to decide between two sizes, it’s generally best to go with the smaller pair.
B or C cup size is ideal for most people. For a natural, passable look, a good rule of thumb is to go for a B cup size up to 36/38, and a C cup from 38/40 and beyond.
I recommend trying on a few different breast forms before making a final decision. Your breasts will look bigger or smaller in different types of clothes, so be sure to try on your breast forms with different tops and dresses.
Where To Shop For Breast Forms
If you have the option, your best bet is to go to a local mastectomy shop to be professional fitted. This allows you to try on a variety of sizes and shapes so you can see which breast forms look best on you.
Most mastectomy shops have transgender and crossdressing customers, so don’t be shy about giving them business. I do recommend calling ahead to make an appointment and ensure that they are trans-friendly.
If you can’t shop in person, your next best bet is to order online. Here are my top recommendations:
- The Breast Form Store – This site is dedicated to the needs of crossdressing / transgender customers. Most importantly, they have a generous return/exchange policy should you order the wrong size.
- Pals Breast Forms – This site offers gel breast forms that are a less expensive and more durable alternative to silicone breast forms.
- Amazon and Ebay – If you are just getting started, you can find inexpensive breast forms on Amazon and Ebay. Keep in mind that these forms tend to be of lower quality.
Put your best breasts forward
Breast forms are a big investment, so it pays to know your options and shop around carefully. Hopefully these tips will help you find your own pair of BFF breast forms.

I have a bit of a natural breast, maybe as much as a A.
I found silicone super concave stays on better. I always glue them on as that feels much more natural and I don’t like the feel of my boobies sliding around the concave stays on so much better.
I get them from Janet’s closet and Amazon carries the ones from Janet’s as well.
I bought C cup forms, but when I went to have a Bra Fitting the Lady doing the fitting said for my body I should get DD forms, So that is what I did and I love them
I love all of you. I sleep wearing my Breast Forms to bed, and only one broke. It was a cheap one, so I no longer cheap Breast Forms.

A few years ago, I decided to take the plunge and ditch my rolled-up athletic socks for silicone breast forms. The difference in feel and look was amazing, and it gave me more confidence to go out. I wanted to be seen with my “girls.” I purchased them online at the Breast Form store, and they were very helpful in helping me choose. I love how I look.
