Do you want to look younger, prettier, and more feminine? If so, try changing your hairstyle! There’s no easier way to improve your appearance.
What are the best male to female haircuts and styles?
I’m glad you asked!
The most flattering and feminizing hairstyles are ones that help soften strong facial features (like a prominent nose or jaw) while making your eyes and lips pop!
Read on to discover the top 6 MTF transgender hairstyles. Note that these style tips work for both wigs and natural hair.
1. Side Swept Bangs
Bangs are a great option since they draw attention to your eyes while hiding a prominent brow ridge. Bangs also make you look cute and youthful!
Straight bangs can highlight angular facial features, so go for soft, side swept bangs instead.
2. Layers
Layered hairstyles tend to be much more flattering than hair that’s all one length. Face framing layers soften your features and add texture and volume to your hair.
3. Soft Waves
Soft waves are super sexy and feminine. Waves also add volume to your hair, making thin hair appear fuller.
Most trans women and crossdressers look great with full, wavy hair that balances out stronger facial features and a larger body frame.
4. Shoulder Length Hair
Shoulder length hair is the best option for most women, including transgender women. Hair that’s too short can look masculine, while hair that’s too long can drag down your face after a certain age.
Shoulder length hair is very feminine and flattering. Additionally, it helps conceal a stronger jaw or thicker neck (if these are issues for you).
5. Side Parts
Middle parts can be tricky since they make your face look longer and highlight your nose and chin. Side parts are more flattering and can be worn by anybody with any face shape.
6. Highlights
Finally, don’t forget about color! Highlights brighten your face and look softer than a single block of color. Generally speaking, your highlights should be two shades lighter than your base color for the most natural look.
Make everyday a good hair day!
Nothing can boost your appearance like a fabulous hairstyle. As you can see from the tips above, the key is to think SOFT – soft cuts, soft texture, and soft color – to balance and feminize your features.
Hair is an important topic, so I’d love to hear from you!

I had blonde hair. I turned it to a brown and now will be adding highlights. I am having my hair slightly straightened due to naturally curly. I do a side brush on the bangs. The truth is this… I am 31. To look as feminine in possible, it is important to work on a lot of areas all at once. I styled my hair, but I also got foundation to lighten my face. I use contour and bronzer to soften my look. The mix of a proper hair style and makeup can make a world of difference. I know I have tried different setups so I can get a feel for what makes me look more masculine and what supports my feminine looks. So I uploaded a goofy pic of me, but that is my hair and make up… Thanks you for the initial post btw!
Your comment is very nice Anna. I like it and you are look very nice.
Wear mine to shoulder’s in back then let curve towards side of my face but my problem is bang’s they their to short or always falling in my face it’s large so make’s me look more male then feminine or femalish
You are very pretty and I love your hair I am 49 and been transitioning for a year and half I wish I could get the look down You look great
I think we all have our admiring fans that tell us we are beautiful or sexy. I sure as heck don’t feel that way. I try to have fun with my style cause no matter what it will never look good. I am all to happy to hear your kind words. I am just as quick to doubt them. Not because you are untrustworthy in any way but because I cannot fathom being on the level of beauty people often afford to me. I am flattered. Thanks. You will one day get it. Hugs. By the way… the trick is less makeup and more smiles. Honestly! A basic foundation, simply brushed out and a little eye liner will go a long way. Put lipstick on only when needed. The mix of hair and makeup done right can leave a huge effect.
Thanks darrall hope got your name right but still not happy or satisified with it still showing too much forehead
I hate my hair I want something that is very feminine I am new to fully coming out
I love my wig and love getting dressed up and exploring my feminine side
Love the 2nd and third one Cassandra! The first one is not you! The others make you look much more beautiful!
Best idea ever.
I love my hair it really brings out the feminine side of me.
I am 59, and only 1 week before decided to finally explore crossdressing. This is a cheap – £1 ($1.42) wig from a joke shop with a light foundation powder and lipstick applied for the first time. I am stunned by the result. My profile is awful as I have big nose but never thought light blue hair would suit me. I am now saving for a make over and wig/hairstyle session as ideally I would like to meet a CD friendly female for nights out, day at the races etc.
