The right pair of shoes can instantly transform the way you look, feel, and walk. That’s why a girl can never own too many pairs!
Of course, not all shoes are created equal and some styles are much more flattering and feminizing than others.
That’s why in this blog post, I’ve compiled the top 7 shoe styles for crossdressers and transgender women.
From classy high heels to comfortable flats, here are the best MTF shoes to enhance your feminine image.
1. Classic Black Pumps
What could be more chic than a pair of classic black pumps? They add a polished look to any outfit, making them a feminine wardrobe staple.
For the most mileage, choose a closed-toe, full back style with a heel that’s high enough to help loosen up your hips as you walk.
2. Ballet Flats
You don’t have to wear high heels to look feminine!
Ballet flats are a fantastic option, especially if you’re on the taller side or want to look pretty and stylish without sacrificing comfort.
3. D’Orsay Pumps
The d’Orsay is a beautiful and elegant pump style in which the sides are cut away to reveal the arch of the foot.
D’Orsay pumps are perfect for showing off shapely legs – an asset for most crossdressers and transgender women.
4. T-Straps
T-straps add a sexy touch to pumps, high heel sandals, and flats. T-strap shoes have two distinct benefits:
- The ankle strap offers extra support for your ankles, making them easier to walk in than other heels.
- The vertical line created by the center strap draws the eye upwards, making your legs look longer.
5. Nude Heels
If you’re on a budget, nude heels will give you the most mileage since they can be worn with literally any color of outfit.
Choose a nude tone that blends in with your skin to make your legs look miles long – an added bonus!
6. Wedges
Still trying to master walking in heels? Then consider a wedge heel. Since the sole covers more ground, they’re much easier to walk in.
One caveat: Wedges have a chunky look, so they are best for those with thinner legs. Stay away from them if you have large or muscular legs.
7. Tall Boots
Boots are sexy and sassy, so they’re a wardrobe must.
Choose knee high boots for the most elegant look. Tall boots are more flattering and slimming than ankle boots or boots that hit the middle of the calf.
Let’s talk shoes!
Of course, these 7 shoe styles are only the beginning! While all of these options are fantastic, the best shoes are the ones that make YOU look and feel your best.
I could talk about shoes for days, so let’s keep the conversation going!
Take my poll and then and share a photo of yourself wearing your favorite shoes in the comments below!

Love love my pumps, D’Orsays, and flats.
I personally don’t like dealing with straps, sandals or peep-toes because I can’t be bothered with painting my toe nails or getting pedicures.
A more practical question is to ask how comfortable are your heel heights, excluding the heights of the platforms. ie total rise.
And the location of the heel helps with balance and stabiliy – whether far back on the foot or directly under the ankle or somewhere in between.
IMHO-
CFM stilettoes >3″ look sexy but really are not comfortable to wear for hours.
Two inch and less can be comfortable for hours.
Constantly trying to “shoehorne”! (yes deliberate choice of word) male feet into shoes designed for females is so crass. Please use your “savvy” and show realistic photos and proper advice to us regarding the practicalities of wearing fashionable things on our feet, and make it less obvious that high heels with narrow pointed toes and designs obviously will not fit most male crossdressers.
HI AFTER READING THE TOP I THOUGHT I’D HAVE A COUNT UP OF MINE, I GOT TO 130 AND STILL HAD SOME LEFT INCLUDING 4 PAIRS OF DESIGNER SHOES.
Hi Lucille, I have 5 pairs of shoes including 3 pairs of boots.
I have close to 200 pair of shoes and boots. Out of all of them, I have only two pair that are uncomfortable to wear. I started my collection 19 years ago. My oldest wearable pair of boots is almost 100 years old. My highest heel height: 9” with platform soles. Flats/low heels generally cause my feet to cramp so I prefer something above 3 inches.
I have a ton of shoes, all types, I love them. I just bought theses sandals from JC Penney. They are the type that zip up in the back. Regular $50, on sale for $18! Had to go for it!
All butt one pair of my shoes are heels. Boots are three pairs, I’m in New England and boots are 8 months of the year, with 3 inch heels. Love love them. One pair of flats are Cole Hahn slip-ons, light leather and dark blue that are so comfy and encourage a little hip swing. Just that comfy. Love shoes. Get’s me excited just putting them on.
I’m an addict as well. You can never have enough shoes!
OMG! I love them all! How do you choose your fav? LOL
