It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
My name comes from 2 different paths, but both land here on Jennifer. 1 is, like others have said come from a popular name from the year I was born. and the other is from the night I was being delivered, I took 3 weeks too longs, and one of my uncles was getting tired; so he said “let’s just call it Jennifer Lynn and I’m going to bed.” but, now that I look back on it, he could have said it, because it was popular. 🙂
Well… I know this might sound bit lame, but my favorite pair of platform shoes (6″ heels) are in the Jessica Simpson line. I fell in love with the shoes and the name at the same time! And I can actually walk AND dance in them! LOL It’s a simple story… but true! Hugs to Lucille and all you wonderful gals out there! Cheers! P.S. Lucille, I love your site and it has helped me so much in my transition to the woman that I always knew I was inside!
Was Michael now Michelle love the new me ❤️
Several years ago when my wife discovered my crossdressing she asked me what my girlfriends name was. This hadn’t been the most pleasant conversation anyway and I blurred out Celeste Michelle these being my favorite girls names. I had never thought about naming myself before being in my closet I just called myself as girl. The funny thing was when my wife called me by my mane in Spanish I fell in love with it so for the rest of this girls life I’m Celeste and living my dream .FLOWERS ANDRAINBOWS TO EVERYONE!!!
Been called Mike my whole life, but never felt like one. I’ve gone by Lexi before, after my cute niece.. I saw Arianna on a blog a qhile back and I loved it! So now Arianna Michaels. Just getting a long overdue divorce so will be able to feed my passion very soon! I can’t wait, may even do surgery and hormones. Feel pretty everyone!

Hero is from Shakespear’s Much Ado About Nothing. At first Hero is naive and has shade thrown at her. By the end of the play her has more self confidence and isnt so naive. Much like my journey into this lifestyle, I am naive and expect shade, but will learn from those experiences and become who I’m meant to be 🙂
Most online sites know me as mary20603 but in my small feminine circle I am know as Maryanne Copper. I arrived at my name from several different sources. Mary come form my MIL who is an impeccable dresser and stil is even if she is in her 80’s. Anne comes two women who know about me and my dress one is my sister and the other is my spouse. Hence the name Maryanne. Now my last name is derived from a former street I grew up on in Ohio. Putting the two together made it sound so good to me I have stuck with it for all these years
I was always helping my mother with housework and in the kitchen. She used to tell me that I should have been a girl and she called me Gretchen
