Stepping out into the word as your female self can be incredibly empowering. It’s powerful validation for crossdressers and transgender women alike.
In this blog post, I want to dive into this topic and hear about your own experiences. How often do you present yourself as a woman in public?
Do you live as a woman full time? Do you crossdress regularly or on occasion? Or is the answer, sadly, “never”?
Please take my transgender / crossdressing survey and share your thoughts in the comments below!

hi, I’m Annie i am a 24/7 pre-op, live in the largest city in the northwest, land of the free, life is nice up here for trans-women, i dont get hassled at all, never ever. people respect each other more up here so i can be the person i was meant to be and not worry in the slightest. I never ever dress as a man any more, don’t think i could if i tried, i just didn’t have room for male cloths so they are gone now, just kept a few shoes, and a couple of shirts that a girl could wear. my body is different anyway dont think my old male stuff would fit right anyway.
I like to crossdress most day in private weather it’s slipping into a bikini or a dress putting on a pair of pumps or high heel boots it’s always relaxes me
I am with you there! I do so much envy those that are comfortable enough to go out publicly, though. I know passing as female should not be that important but I just can’t bear the thought of what others might think seeing me looking like an ugly guy trying to pretend to be a woman.
Some day I’ll be able to get out of my own head and get over lack of self-confidence.. but for now, I just have to enjoy privately giving expression to an otherwise hidden side of me. It is the best I can do.
Am 65 and was post-op at age 50… body has not been cooperating and no funds to make it so… but, as you say, the mind is where the success begins.. and had to process this before proceeding.. 9-11 was the main turning point.. this is where something had to be done.. yes, I get comments – but, it is better than the alternative.. LOVE your web-page and your assistance to all of us out there. With help such as yours WE WILL BE COUNTED..
I try to go out as woman frequently but in An other area as my own.
Sometimes its daily in other periods it’s once a week.
My wife can’t live with me as a woman otherwise I was transitioning already.
Back in April of 2017, I was contemplating that I was about to go into my 71st year of age. I had been dragging my feet about going full time for all the usual reasons. I finally decided that I was fed up with all of those reasons and that I would be dammed if I was going to go into my 71st year without going full time. I have been full-time since April 28th of 2017. I live, work, and have a wonderful time at my new life. All of those fears, and anticipation have vanished. I have yet had anyone question me when I am out in the town’s stores or at the stores that I go into to work as a retail merchandiser. My only regret is that I did not make this decision many years ago.
Only when I’m doing my Star Trek crossplay 😀
I use all the tips and tricks I learn here to lend a bit more “authenticity” (so to speak) at the local comic conventions.
If I could I would transition but my family and most of my friends would not be supportive. I wish I had the support some have.
Unfortunately, I don’t have enough time (and when I do, I often don’t feel my body shape is quite there.) I try to go out once a month, but in reality it’s more like twice a year.
