Planning to step out en femme? Don’t forget your bag! More than just a stylish accessory, your purse is a toolbox for your female self.
While a cluttered bag isn’t chic, there are some essentials you shouldn’t be without. You never know what life will throw at you – and a lady is always prepared!
In this blog post, I share 15 transgender / crossdressing items to keep in your purse when you are on the go.
1. Cell phone
Needless to say, you should never leave home without your phone. Besides, you never know when the perfect selfie opportunity will arise!
2. Lip Gloss or Lipstick
A moisturizing lip gloss or lipstick in your favorite shade is a female essential.
3. Mints or Gum
Freshen your breath on the go by keeping a stash of mints or gum on hand.
4. Nail File
There’s nothing more annoying than a broken nail, so throw one of these babies into your bag.
5. $20 Cash
Even though most of us rely on credit or debit cards, you never know when you might need some cash.
6. Hand Cream
Keep your hands feeling soft and feminine with a tube of hand cream.
7. Blotting Paper or Powder
Reduce shine on the go with blotting paper or pressed powder.
8. Bobby Pins
These come in handy if you need to secure your wig or tame some loose strands of hair.
9. Compact Mirror
A must-have for checking your teeth or makeup.
10. Stain Removal Pen
The sooner you treat an unexpected stain, the less likely it is to be permanent.
11. Band-Aids
Not just for cuts and scrapes, a Band-Aid can relieve blisters caused by new shoes.
12. Safety Pins
Those can be a lifesaver if you break a strap or pop a button.
13. Emergency Info
Not to be a downer, but if anything should happen, this could literally save your life.
14. Advil or Tylenol
Keep a couple painkillers on hand in case you get a surprise headache.
15. Healthy Snack
Hunger can sneak up on you, so keep a healthy snack bar or some nuts in your bag.

Hello,
I keep all but 3 of those items in my purse and those are #8, #10 and #15. What I do carry that is not listed are tampons, every woman needs tampons in her purse. One of the tampon applicators is empty and I keep emergency cash in it and resealed the wrapper so it looks like it hasn’t been opened. People will steal cash and credit cards from a purse but who is going to steal a tampon? Many cis women carry tampons in their purse.
I also carry a can of pepper spray cuz being a transwoman can be risky and have recently added a taser.
I am a minimalist. Lucky to have my car keys with me. however my backpack on a hike will have full survival gear.
I just stick my ID, debit card, and a few bill into my bra and run for the door. If I am not wearing a bra I depend upon shorts or skirt with pockets.
Great list Lucille. I assume one carries her credit cards and ID. I would add condoms and lube. You just never know when a girl will get lucky.
Thank you
what color of lip stick should I red head and white skin
Pepper spray or a small can of hairspray to spray into an attacker’s eyes or mouth just in case I’m out and about and I need it. Also a lighter to set him or her on fire just in case one of those doesn’t slow the said attacker down enough.
I have the following things in my Coach bag: $20.00, 2 condoms; my mother’s dressmaker’s tape measure (from her purse after she died); folding hairbrush; small folding magnifying glass; three bobby pins; three safety pins; small pen and notepad; wallet, containing credit card, drivers license, Medicaid card, professional engineers license, car insurance and registration paper; four quarters; lipstick; two Kleenex; two paper clips; nail file; my grandathers pocket knife; two binder clips; small flashlight; spare house and car keys; my cell phone (before cell phones, I used to carry a mirror, but the “selfie” option has removed that necessity); two extra hair bands; M1 can opener; two band aids; Rosebud waterproof matches; spare pair of pantyhose; small bottle of clear nail polish. I consider myself fully prepared for any emergency. 🙂
