This is me, not made up, just the sheer pleasure of wearing a skirt and pantyhose. I’ve been crossdressing since I was 17, and it’s been absolute bliss, except for the odd bad encounters in the street.
Oooops, pictures didn’t upload correctly. Let’s have another try…
I only have one pic, but I’ll throw it out there anyway. I’m a hot mess. ~blush
I live in the UK and I’ve been dressing since I was 11 (and I’m 53 now), but I’ve never come out to family or friends. My wife is aware, but doesn’t like it and so hasn’t seen me in my full glory (so here are a couple of my favourite pix). It’s hard to dress because she is relatively housebound – so I’m never home alone. I took the liberating step last year of moving my wardrobe out of the house, so I can dress in the day, though I can create some free time only once every couple of months, unfortunately. A few years ago, I stayed in a great cross-dresser hotel in Blackpool – it was my first real interaction with others while dressed. This gave me a huge confidence boost, so now I feel mostly comfortable shopping, trying on dresses and meeting people, when I’m out. This past year, particularly, I’ve passed a lot of small but personal milestones -getting my first makeovers in department stores, buying beautiful outfits to wear right out of the store, dining out in a restaurant for the first time. I’ve been working on Kathe Perez’ Eva Voice programme – and I feels it’s making a difference too (my wife thought she heard a woman in the living room – I’d slipped into my feminine voice without realising). I can now also sing all of my favourite female artistes in the car on my way in to work – at least until the lockdown. Lucille’s blogs are great to follow, think about and learn from too (thank the internet for finally connecting us all – so we’re less alone and clueless than when I first started on this journey).
Take care all of you, stay safe and well,
Hugs,
Emily x
Dear Emily,
I just love your picture! You have a style of your own and it’s as beautiful as you are!
I am sorry that you do not have a lot of time for yourself.. Take full advantage of the time you do which it sounds like you are doing.. You definitely pass Dear!
Good luck Sister and take care..
Hugs always,
Marcy
Thanks so much Marcy for your kind and supportive comments (I never imagined anyone would take the time to post a reply – so this is really welcome). It’s so great what you’ve said about passing – it is my dream. I’ve learned that most people I meet don’t seem to notice (or care), but accept me for who I am. It takes a lot of personal courage and determination to get out there; on a good day it’s amazing (and days when it goes less well, I treat as learning opportunities, to analyse how I can improve and practice when ever I get a chance).
I do love your skirt; it’s such a nice length and one of my favourite styles. You look so happy and relaxed in your photo. The boa is fab too!
Take care and keep safe,
Emily
