Expressing your feminine side is about much more than just clothes and makeup. After all, women are a little more complex than that!
That’s why I wanted to go beyond the obvious and explore some unexpected strategies to help you enhance your feminine expression.
In this blog post for crossdressers and transgender women, I share 3 unexpected ways to be more feminine. Read on to learn more!
1. Buy a New Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. While it’s great to have a signature scent, sometimes it helps to switch things up and discover new perfumes to bring out your inner woman.
Here are some suggestions to match your desired vibe:
- Floral scents: Embrace your soft, romantic side with the allure of flowers.
- Fresh or fruity scents: Boost your confidence and energy levels with invigorating notes.
- Woody or oriental scents: Unleash your inner seductress with warm, captivating fragrances.

2. Be More Polite
Did you know that politeness plays a significant role in enhancing your feminine image?
Countless studies have shown that women tend to excel in the realm of manners, and adopting these social graces can truly elevate your femininity.
Here are three suggestions to keep in mind:
- Embrace the power of “please” and “thank you” – These little words hold huge power in conveying respect and gratitude. Remember to use them often in your daily interactions.
- Soften your language – For example, instead of bluntly saying “I can’t hear you,” opt for a more gentle approach like, “I’m sorry, I can’t quite hear you.” This subtle shift demonstrates empathy and consideration.
- Mind your online presence – Politeness shouldn’t be limited to face-to-face encounters. It’s equally important to be polite when texting, emailing, or engaging in online discussions.
3. Loosen Up
If you’re looking for an instant way to enhance your feminine image, here’s a simple secret: loosen up! This applies to both your body and your mind, and it can work wonders in unleashing your true feminine grace.
First, let’s focus on loosening up your body:
Women naturally possess a graceful, limber quality. If your body feels tense and tight, it can manifest in stiff, jerky movements that lack femininity. Here’s how you can loosen up:
- Consciously relax your body, especially your jaw and shoulders.
- Stretch your muscles on a daily basis.
- Take lots of deep, relaxing breaths.
These simple body-loosening techniques can do more to feminize your movements than all the hip shaking in the world!
Now, let’s shift our focus to loosening up your mind:
The happiest crossdressers and transgender women I know don’t get hung up on “passing” or trying to please everybody. Instead, they embrace who they are while constantly striving to improve themselves.
Life is short, so above all, relax and enjoy the journey!

There are so many ways to do girly stuff, like a long soak in the tub with scented oils that I do on the weekend . I also shave daily, face, arms, legs and the private region LOL. Sometimes I will even use a little bit of perfume like Victorias Secrets Heavenley scent.I just plain LOVE being female although Im trapped in a guys body..More later and keep up the good work girl, I envy you….someday I hope to get my sex change operation ,girls like you are lucky to be born the way you are….got to run Hugs & Kisses……Tommi
hi lucille im havin facial lazer and taken hormone tablet along with other things î always wear knickers and bra but always wear woman jean when not workin feels gr8
I feel feminine by exercising as a woman. I do go-go dance routines, zumba, “brazilian butt lift”, always dressed in women’s workout clothes and sports bras. Since I’ve started doing that in 2004, I lost 100 lbs; and it has really taught me how to move like a woman, not only dancing, but every day!
Absolutely spot on – couldn’t agree more.
Over a year ago I joined an adult beginner’s ballet class. Although I wear male ballet uniform in class (mostly I am the only genetic male in class on any given evening), when practising at home, I don the typical female ballet uniform (pink tights, blue leotard, pink ballet slippers, etc.). It feels wonderfully liberating and at the same time, I’ve developed leg and abdominal muscles most genetic males would envy.
Hello Lucille,
This is my first time replying to the information you send me, and I really appreciate the advise.I’m one of those guys that have a hard time dealing with living my life the way I want to.I’m 37 yrs. old and I live in in the south and I never displayed my feminine side to anyone,so it’s hard for me to become the lady that I feel that I am.I don’t know if it’s just a faze or what, but I have been struggling with this for15 years now and I feel like I’m psychologically damaging myself. Religion is a big part of my life also,so that makes things extra difficult. I just want to be happy and not worry myself to death, and be able to live freely without the people around me changing, which I know is fantasy. My Dad would probably murder me if I told him that I was becoming a woman, and it would break my mothers’ heart. As for now,I’m the one stressing. Thanks for listening I just wanted to express myself to someone.
Thanks
Ananda
Hi Amanda, I can relate completely to everything you have mentioned. For me I had to ostracize myself from both parents completely to get away from their cruelty and negativity which almost completely destroyed my soul. I then used the positive aspects of spirituality to find a certain amount of inner peace which definitely helped reduce my desire to suicide, however in the end, I did let go of religion/Catholasism, not my beliefs about spirituality, or beliefs about god/a creator, because I found it’s teachings were hypocritical and created quite a few negative beliefs like shame for example. Fortunately after doing bible studies I came to the conclusion that religion is a man made thing, not divine, and therefore if God really is everything religion teaches us to believe, then God would love us regardless of our gender identity. To be honest I found religion screwed me up more than I benefitted from it. I hope this helps.
Ananda, dear, may God bless you with your liberation. I wish you and all who are going through the same dillema as yours the very best outcome possible — happiness!
From a woman to another,
Tamna xoxo
Be who you are. Don’t worry about God if you believe he will love you. Forget about religion and be who you are and make your decision as to who you want to be. Who you want to be, or family it is your choice and I admit a very tough choice. Good luck with what you decide.
Hi Lucille – I’ve been reading your emails for a while but this is the first time I thought I had something worth responding with. For me I feel at my most feminine when I place myself in a non-threatening situation among men. I love being en-femme in a builders merchants when I’m asking for a nail or a hammer … it makes you feel very special! I once was lucky enough to be in a shop elevator with 5 men which was possibly the most exciting thing that’s ever happened in my sheltered little life!
Thanks for your emails.
Kath xx
