Do you go out in public as a woman?
If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Nearly 75% of my readers rarely or never leave the house en femme.
While going out en femme can be exciting and empowering, it’s not the only way to express your feminine side as a crossdresser or transgender woman.
Whether you choose to go out or keep it private, both options are valid!
This is an important topic, and I’d love to know what you think.
Where do YOU present yourself as a woman?
- Strictly in the privacy of your own home?
- At select places – like nightclubs, meetups, or conferences?
- Anywhere and everywhere as a full time woman?

Well , I just legally changed my name. Talk about kicking yourself out of the closet. I go every where as a woman. I dont have a chose anymore. I started out just dressing and going to the therapist , dang that was scary.Im 66 years old so nobody really pays to much attention to an old chick. I ve adopted the attitude of screw um if they don’t like who i am.
I went to a crossdressing service provider a few years ago for my first time…ever. Afterwards, and still in dress, she asked me if I wanted to go out in public. While nervous, I figured why not, I come this far afterall, so out we went out for coffee and a bit of shopping. I didn’t feel a bit out of place and had a wonderful time. I’ve never looked back now.
Where can you find a service like that? I’d sign up.
I have been a member of a crossdressing support group for over twenty years, and this is a wonderful way to meet others, gain confidence, and become comfortable presenting as a woman in public. One national organization is TriEss, or the society for the second self, which has chapters in many major cities throughout the US. You can Google the group and the regional chapters, and if you live clos enough, you can contact the outreach coordinator and come for a weekend meeting.
I am post-op TG, full time female since Dec ’13
Congrats. Me too. I’m just 6 months post op and still loving every minute. I’m hoping other girls get the courage we had to come out and stay out one day in their own time. It’s empowering.
Congratulations! That’s wonderful news . Embrace and enjoy life now.

I am fulltime female since 2013. I am going out side with friends selected places only
Ok, first off, I hope and pray what I say doesn’t hurt anyone who is still shy of going out in public. I was there once. I just couldn’t take what I felt was hiding the real me.
I am a transgendered truck driver. I go EVERYWHERE, & most people don’t care about it. Maybe that’s because confidence is important. Maybe it’s because I don’t care what others say. All I know is, once you taste freedom as you, it’s harder to suppress & hide it.
Be advised tho: The HARDEST place for me to go in was my local Wal-Mart. You’ll see everyone you ever knew there. Once that hurdle was gone, the rest was easy.
(At least to me, it was).
Sorry this is me this past Halloween.
I think your very pretty.
Melody
I think I have seen you. I to am a Transgender Truck driver. I mainly worked in the upper mid-west. I say worked as two horrible things just happened to me this week. 1st After driving in the blizzard in MN I made it to my destination Got in my sleeper to get my 10hrs. About an hour after falling asleep I was awaken to massive chest pains. Yes I had a major heart attack. I am OK but have a long healing process ahead of me. 2nd I get released from the hospital and get a call from my boss telling me I am fired for as he called it cross dressing in a company vehicle which was against company policies. I never seen nothing in the company handbook about it. I will survive and have to concentrate on getting better. You take care Melody. I did drive as a woman and even wen into some stops as a woman.
You don’t live in Minnesota, do you? I’m new to this, and dying to meet people. Not a “relationship”. I need friends.
In the privacy of close and understanding friends and others like ‘me’ 🙂
Have been going out in public since 1993. Used to go on holiday to a sympathetic venue & spend a fortnight femme. More recently, been to Ascot racecourse one day each year since 2013 to watch the horse racing. Already planning my outfit for this year.
Would love to meet other cross dressers in the Greater Toronto Area who would love to get together for dress up, drinks or dinner when I can get out from my wife.
Don’t be shy and let’s have some fun
