Are you excited to embrace your fabulous female self? Having the right tools is key!
While some transgender / crossdressing supplies are obvious, there are important items you might not have considered that can help you look and feel your best as a woman.
In this blog post, I share 10 must-have essentials for your male to female transformation journey.
1. Breast Forms
Breasts are arguably the most feminine part of a woman’s body.
If you don’t possess your own natural curves, then investing in a pair of breast forms is a must for any crossdresser or transgender woman. (Of course, you’ll also need a cute bra to put them in!)
2. Color Corrector
Dealing with a visible beard shadow can be a major challenge in putting your best face forward.
Although it may be tempting to camouflage it with thick concealer, the result never appears natural.
Instead, invest in a pink or red color corrector to help neutralize the tone of your beard shadow. This enables you to use less makeup and achieve a more natural and feminine appearance.
(Note: Check out The Makeup Magic Program for expert tips on concealing a beard shadow, using makeup to feminize your face, and so much more!)
3. Body Shaper
A body shaper is a versatile garment that offers multiple benefits, including waist trimming, belly flattening, and overall shape smoothing.
Body shapers come in a variety of styles. Opt for a brief style to wear under shorter skirts and a thigh-length style for pants and longer skirts.
To feminize your lower body, look for a body shaper with hip and butt padding to create the illusion of curves.
4. Perfume
The right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine!
The secret is to choose a fragrance that matches the qualities you want to express. Here are some simple guidelines:
- Go for floral scents if you want to express your romantic side.
- Choose oriental or woody scents if you want to bring out your inner seductress.

5. Black Pantyhose Or Tights
While bare legs may be fashionable, there’s nothing quite like the sophisticated appeal of hosiery. Classic black pantyhose or tights, in particular, are a style must-have.
When opting for pantyhose, choose the sheerest hose available and stick to jet black. Avoid shades like gray-black or brown-black.
Alternatively, you can go for opaque tights for a more casual and youthful look.
6. Lipstick
Studies show that a woman’s lips are considered the most attractive part of her body, particularly when accentuated with lipstick.
It goes without saying that lipstick is an essential item that will instantly make you look more feminine and attractive.
7. Classic Pumps
Shoes say more about you than any other accessory. When it comes to making a statement, you can’t go wrong with a timeless pair of black pumps.
Classic black pumps exude sexiness, femininity, and work well with many types of clothes.
8. Moisturizer
Due to higher testosterone levels, males tend to have rougher skin compared to women.
That’s why it’s essential to incorporate a daily facial moisturizer into your routine, whether you’re presenting as your feminine self or not.
By using moisturizer regularly, you can achieve smoother-looking skin and enhance the application and longevity of your makeup.
9. Little Black Dress
The little black dress is a wardrobe staple every crossdresser and transgender woman should own. A simple black dress in a flattering length can go from day to night and will never go out of style.
10. Attitude
Lastly, the key to it all is your attitude – and it’s absolutely crucial!
The way people treat you often reflects how you expect to be treated. So, embrace your femininity and radiate fabulousness with confidence. You deserve nothing less, girlfriend!
Now I’d like to hear from YOU!

Though I have quite a bit of a cowgirl side to me, I do have most everything here on the list. My very girly side tells me I need another little black dress, maybe two? I absolutely love them. Around where I live, some people are accepting of others like myself. I have had no issues so far going out enfemme. I even had a couple of neighbors ask me, ” who was that pretty lady you had over last night?” I only replied, “wouldnt you like to know!” I have to let my sassy side out every so often. I found resources for some of the things anyone may need like breastforms, clothing, makeup, etc at suddenlyfem.com or janetscloset.com. Janets closet is a store near Detroit, Michigan and has a good online store, and is owned and operated by a ts lady. I just love being the me I have always felt that I am! 🙂

Hi Lucille,
I always use a green concealer because my face in boy mode is very red. Green works to bring my skin tone to a more even flow. Totally agree with everything else especially the attitude and ALWAYS SMILE. We are having fun, right? Act the part girls and you will feel like a real woman!
All my love Lucille!

I got to say First of all thank you Lucille For all you do for us. The list is perfect. I am on the flat to fem program since March 15 this year with great results. My doctor was quit surprised with my development hopefully HRT soon. I am coming out to the world this Monday.
Good luck Audrey! I hope ‘coming out’ goes well for u and the people that matter to u are kind and accepting.
The last one is the most important. If you have that it becomes so much easier to follow the other ones and turn oneself into the image and feelings of a classy, sexy ,confident, fun, zestful, enthusiatic, feminine person.Thank-you Lucille-another educational blog.
Top of my list…. CONFIDENT SMILE.
Attitude is different but if you can be show confidence & smile (definitely not timid) then it is awesome!
It is something that men don’t do very often and women – well we ALWAYS do it. Even when you are not entirely en-femme you’ll be surprised how (if shaved and a little androgenous)often people will refer to you as ‘Miss’ – Try it… it’s the perfect number 1!
Oh and to follow Hip & Thigh pads are brilliant. In my culture, feminine shape is not about the breasts… it’s about the waist & Hips! Hips in proportion to shoulder with is paramount. Yes, I use them too – no amount of HRT can fix that after you’ve passed 30! =P
I don’t prescribe fully to the ideal that ‘What you wear’ is paramount. I have lived as a woman for years now and the LBD, the insanely high pumps etc have only a tiny place in my life.
It’s about HOW you wear what you’ve got.
Being a woman is not that different to being a guy… you still have to do your normal daily life stuff – we just do it in a more fabulous, beautiful effortless way.
Lol, sounds like a lecture.
I have all ten items plus. You did miss the purse. As for heels, I normally wear 3 – 4 inch heels and I’m 5’10” but here in Texas we have a lot of tall girls that wear heels. The height isn’t really in question at all when the high heels lead to great legs and that’s what the guys are looking at. I also wear low cut tops and because of Lucilles flat to fem program I have enough cleavage now that with a push up/in bra my girls show off really well. Look around and watch who looks at what. The guys look at legs and booty and the ladies look at breasts. We ladies look at other ladies boobs to see how we measure up or not. The biggest problem you will have is with teenage girls. They give you the twice over but if you look like you belong there they just blow on by. I was recently shopping and three teenage girls were walking towards me in the store so I just looked at them and smiled. As they walked by one told the others “did you see those boobies bounce”. Yep, I felt really good and knew I was doing well as a lady. Don’t over do it, just look as natural as you can. Good luck girls!
