Having an attractive waist-to-hip ratio is a key aspect of feminine beauty. But what if your belly is your problem area?
The good news is that there are some simple fashion tricks you can use to instantly trim your tummy and slim your waistline.
Not only will these tricks make you appear thinner, they will also help you achieve a more feminine, hourglass shape.
If that sounds exciting, let’s dive into my top 7 belly-flattening fashion tips for crossdressers and MTF transgender women!
Trick #1: Wear a Shaping Camisole
Corsets and girdles will certainly pull you in, but they’re not very comfortable for daily wear.
Instead, wear a shaping camisole under your clothes. It’s a wonderful alternative for trimming inches from your waist and belly – while still allowing you to breathe.
Trick #2: Try a Tummy-Minimizing Peplum
Peplums are a fantastic clothing style for crossdressers and MTF transgender women, as they are both feminine and flattering.
A peplum is a short overskirt attached at the waistline of a top, dress, or jacket that’s perfect for covering a full belly.
And thanks to the fit-and-flare styling, a peplum will also give you that sexy hourglass shape.
Trick #3: Avoid Bottoms That Sit Too Far Above or Below Your Waistline
If you’re dealing with a larger belly, it’s important to consider the placement of your skirt or pants’ waistband. Ideally, the waistband should sit just below your belly button.
- If the waistband is too high, it can create the appearance of your stomach bulging out from below.
- On the other hand, if the waistband is too low, it can lead to that undesirable “muffin top” look.
Trick #4: Wear a Light Colored Jacket Over a Dark Top
To minimize the appearance of a larger tummy, consider wearing a light-colored jacket over a dark top.
The jacket acts as a cover-up, while the dark color underneath helps your belly blend into the background.
For optimal results, opt for a jacket that has some structure to it. Princess seams, in particular, are a feminine and flattering feature to look for.
Trick #5: Downplay Belly Rolls With a Ruched Top
Ruching, which refers to fabric that is gathered along the seam line, is an excellent choice for hiding a larger belly.
Unlike flat fabrics that tend to highlight every bulge, ruching helps conceal what’s underneath – including those unwanted belly rolls.
Trick #6: Just Say “NO” to Tight Clothes
If your belly is your trouble spot, it’s important to steer clear of wearing overly tight clothing.
Clothes that are too tight (including bras and panties) will dig in and create unsightly bulges – calling even more attention to these areas.
Trick #7: Avoid Oversized Clothes
Just as you should avoid clothes that are too tight, neither do you want to wear clothes that are too loose.
Trying to hide a big belly under an oversized top just makes you look bigger. The key is to opt for clothing that gracefully skims your midsection instead of drowning it.
In conclusion
Don’t worry if your belly is a bit of a concern. The good news is, there are plenty of ways to minimize it and achieve that ideal hip-to-waist ratio.
What really matters is feeling self-assured as a crossdresser or transgender woman, and the right outfit can make all the difference!

I used to say, “my legs” but after having been “outed” (on webcam chat) by someone telling me I had “male legs” (which is a first in many years, actually… I know my wife envies my legs, and she’s not the only one!), I guess I have to revise my “list of best assets” and stick to… lips and eyes.
My legs turn heads I was told and my hand grown Lucille Sorella boobs also. I’m at the stage to do something else to get them perked up. Thanks for your help. The hand excersizes really work, just have to be patient with it.
I’m glad to hear flat-to-femme is working for clients out there. I need the encouragement. So far only my growing hair and my pierced ears say femme, as far as I can tell. No one is questioning my inclinations of identity but I’ve told many. For my weak belly muscles (not really fat) I’ve just started doing belly dance-like moves while the Noogleberry is suctioning/enlarging my breasts. I’m singing tenor and alto instead of bass in the parish church choir. My speaking voice is slowly increasing higher comfortable pitch range. My best woman friend says I have a better femme walk than she does. I’m hoping http://www.transfemme.com bovine hormonal products will show some results soon. If they show some good results I can help others with the recommendation and encouragement. So much time!
My legs and 40b breasts are my best assets …. I can’t wait to hear about molding my ample midsection to amplify breasts and hips/butt.
Thanks Lucille for all the helpful info you provide us gurls
You have a nice womanly figure in the pic. Most real women have an ample mid-section. Why worry about it?
My mid section is a problem for me also. The only thing to do is excersize to reduce the middle lump.
I guess being over weight means you cant crossdress? I have a tummy trouble but i a have 40c breasts and taut legs. I am some what passible. I just need help some times.
Lacy, you can whittle the weight down, some where else I have put an exercise routine
that WORKS, another one is lay flat on your bed, alternately bending your legs > bringing the
foot up to your butt.
OBJECTIVE is moving your stomach muscles.
AND these exercises cost nothing but your time.
If you have to have junk food, try SUBWAY, but half ‘ah’ roll.
Absolutely not! You can crossdress at any size or age. In fact, I highly recommend it. 🙂
The purpose of this article is simply to offer tips on how to downplay your tummy if it’s a trouble spot.
My legs are definitely my best feminine asset. I also have a small, round girly butt too.

Hi Luc, thanks for the tummy tips. I am lucky to have oK looking legs but I am working on my tummy. I am lucky to have an OK looking face and lots of friends including my GG girl friend who are always trying to help with my looks. Keep the tips coming.
Love shirley
I think I am lucky in that my best feature is my slim built, I have a naturally thin built body which makes it easy for me to look good in form fitting and younger womens designs. Plus i think my breasts which are 36 b are a great asset to have I do love to show off my cleavage when i can. I have to say my worst part is my body from the neck up looks all man, wish i could change that.
Like Generaquel I think my facial features get me by. I am blessed also with a slim figure and narrow feminine shoulders. All in all I think I’m very lucky in the feminine asset department.
