Having an attractive waist-to-hip ratio is a key aspect of feminine beauty. But what if your belly is your problem area?
The good news is that there are some simple fashion tricks you can use to instantly trim your tummy and slim your waistline.
Not only will these tricks make you appear thinner, they will also help you achieve a more feminine, hourglass shape.
If that sounds exciting, let’s dive into my top 7 belly-flattening fashion tips for crossdressers and MTF transgender women!
Trick #1: Wear a Shaping Camisole
Corsets and girdles will certainly pull you in, but they’re not very comfortable for daily wear.
Instead, wear a shaping camisole under your clothes. It’s a wonderful alternative for trimming inches from your waist and belly – while still allowing you to breathe.
Trick #2: Try a Tummy-Minimizing Peplum
Peplums are a fantastic clothing style for crossdressers and MTF transgender women, as they are both feminine and flattering.
A peplum is a short overskirt attached at the waistline of a top, dress, or jacket that’s perfect for covering a full belly.
And thanks to the fit-and-flare styling, a peplum will also give you that sexy hourglass shape.
Trick #3: Avoid Bottoms That Sit Too Far Above or Below Your Waistline
If you’re dealing with a larger belly, it’s important to consider the placement of your skirt or pants’ waistband. Ideally, the waistband should sit just below your belly button.
- If the waistband is too high, it can create the appearance of your stomach bulging out from below.
- On the other hand, if the waistband is too low, it can lead to that undesirable “muffin top” look.
Trick #4: Wear a Light Colored Jacket Over a Dark Top
To minimize the appearance of a larger tummy, consider wearing a light-colored jacket over a dark top.
The jacket acts as a cover-up, while the dark color underneath helps your belly blend into the background.
For optimal results, opt for a jacket that has some structure to it. Princess seams, in particular, are a feminine and flattering feature to look for.
Trick #5: Downplay Belly Rolls With a Ruched Top
Ruching, which refers to fabric that is gathered along the seam line, is an excellent choice for hiding a larger belly.
Unlike flat fabrics that tend to highlight every bulge, ruching helps conceal what’s underneath – including those unwanted belly rolls.
Trick #6: Just Say “NO” to Tight Clothes
If your belly is your trouble spot, it’s important to steer clear of wearing overly tight clothing.
Clothes that are too tight (including bras and panties) will dig in and create unsightly bulges – calling even more attention to these areas.
Trick #7: Avoid Oversized Clothes
Just as you should avoid clothes that are too tight, neither do you want to wear clothes that are too loose.
Trying to hide a big belly under an oversized top just makes you look bigger. The key is to opt for clothing that gracefully skims your midsection instead of drowning it.
In conclusion
Don’t worry if your belly is a bit of a concern. The good news is, there are plenty of ways to minimize it and achieve that ideal hip-to-waist ratio.
What really matters is feeling self-assured as a crossdresser or transgender woman, and the right outfit can make all the difference!

THANK YOU FOR THE BELLY FLATENING TIPS AS THAT IS A PROBLEM AREA FOR ME.

Angie, Dittos on Wanita’ comment. I not quite where you are yet in this wonderful journey but I’m getting there! Thanks for the encouragement.
Such good advice Lucille, as ever. I also love to read to the tips that other readers leave. We all know what we have to work with and nature has been kinder to some but by no means not all and this applies to those born as female. Never too old to take on advice is my maxim. Thanks again.
As always, great tips Lucille. I decided back in May that I needed to lose weight for both my mental and physical health. With weekly check in to my doctor, I have lost 80 pounds by eating healthy and walking at least 30 minutes a day. At 64 years old, I feel better than I have in 30 years. Add my going back on Estrodoil (2 mg/day) and it all adds up to me being in a very happy place now. To celebrate, here is my first ever picture to post. I’m just wearing a simple top with my training corset underneath and a pair of panties. No bra or stockings. It’s a start. I really enjoy the supportive atmosphere here, thank you all for sharing and thank you Lucille for your support over the years.
Francine 24:
Thanks so much for your wonderful, encouraging comments on my “look “.I certainly appreciate your opinions ,& hope you continue to advise me!
Your picture of your frontage is so impressive, beautiful. As you see from my pics, I struggle, at 71, with my waist. Working on that, daily.
Appreciate your kind words. …T.J.
Thank You Francine for the wonderful feedback and the advise on consulting a doctor. Being a crossdresser and wanting so much more has been a struggle. I’ve been experimenting with natural hormones; not seeing any results so I bought a 2 month supply of Estradoil and have been on it for 3 weeks. I feel the same and unsure if anything physically is taking place other then my libido seems to be shrinking quicker now. Again, thank you for answering me and I wish you and everyone on this site the best:)

Hey girl friend lm going slowly but will get there if you need me I’m
Here
Hey girl friend lm going to height to weight of 170-175 stay in touch if you need me lm here as well
Jessica, the short answer on Estrodoil causing breast growth is “Yes”. The longer answer is I have been using natural methods for years including using Lucille’s program starting back in 2009 (yes her program really works. The Pueraria Mirifica oil Lucille recommends on this site seems especially effective). I would say the natural methods got me half way to the breasts I now have using the Estrodoil which I have been using for about 6 months this go round. I have to stress that Estrodoil and other “real” hormones should only be taken under a doctor’s care as you need to be monitored for both physical and emotional reactions. Good luck and I’d be happy to share more details but don’t want to bore you otherwise. 🙂

T.J.,
Thanks for the nice words and your lovely pictures. You have a beautiful classy look and it encourages me to continue to learn how to achieve my best feminine self. I hope to be a more confident women like you and yes, I enjoy being me, especially now that there is less of “me”. I did take a “before” picture back in June when I started my healthy plan. Maybe I should post that to show what can be achieved in 5 months.
