Do you love wearing dresses? I sure hope you do! There’s nothing quite as enjoyable as putting on a sexy, feminine dress.
With so many choices available, from mini dresses to gowns, you might be wondering which dress styles are best for crossdressers and trans women.
The key is to choose a dress that both flatters and feminizes your figure – while making you feel great!
In this blog post, I’ll share my top 5 dress picks for crossdressers and transgender women.
1. Empire Waist Dress
Empire waist dresses feature a raised waistline that falls just below the bust. This style is perfect for concealing a fuller midsection while elongating the look of the legs.
2. Cinched Waist Dress
A classic, feminine style, cinched waist dresses add fullness around the hips while defining the look of the waist.
3. Peplum Dress
A peplum is a short, gathered “overskirt” attached to the waist of a garment. It’s one of my favorite dresses for crossdressers and transgender women because it creates instant, flattering curves.
4. Wrap Dress
Another one of my favorites, the wrap dress is universally flattering. The plunging neckline helps slim the look of the torso while the tie enhances your waistline.
5. Mini Dress
Crossdressers and transgender women tend to have gorgeous legs. It’d be a crime not to flaunt them in short dresses – at least every now and then! As long as you choose a tasteful style, there’s no “age limit” to wearing a mini dress.
Let’s see YOUR best dress!
Of course, your dress options are endless and these 5 styles are only the beginning. A girl can never have too many dresses!
Do you have any photos of yourself in your favorite dress? If so, I’d love to see them. Please share in the comments below!

Dear Lucille
I love ‘cinched waist dresses’. I do not have any photo available of myself dreased at the present. However, I am moving away from the subject of your fantastic blog, when I announce that I have today purchased a black leather-look jumpsuit. When I receive it in aporoximately 1 week’s time , I should love to take a photo of myself and post it. (Do you recommend one supplier (more than any other) where I can purchase online some reasonably priced shoes (I am in the U.K.) Thank you.

thanks for this, like you I adore wearing dresses or skirts, it just feels so right and natural to wear them, I would appreciate your advice on styles and cuts for the much larger gurl, especially something to mask my huge belly, bum and thighs, thanks for all your advice, it comes in very handy.
LOVE your tips and classes!!!!
ready go onm my date
Oh i just happened to buy a blouse which is “peplum” at the bottom. Now i see the Peplum Dress and know what the term means.
Another suggestion i find works for me. i buy skirts and blouses. This way you can mix and match for a lot of combinations to wear. During the day mostly. My favorite would be the Pencil Skirt with a slit. The slit can be worn in the front, the back, or at the side. To show off a bit of the feature that you want to show.
This I think is my best picture, taken before the Armed Forces LGBTQ Ball in Manchester UK last year.
Myself at the Armed Forces and Veterans LGBTQ Ball in Manchester UK I felt like a real woman
Hi Eve, it’s a shame your picture didn’t post. Could you try again?
I didn’t know there was an Armed Forces LGBTQ ball. That is just brilliant.
Thanks Lucille for another insightful blog. I love wearing dresses and knowing a little more about the flattering types is wonderful. You always bring such joy to the trans community. Be well, stay safe and healthy.

You certainly look like a Queen too!
I also like wearing dresses as much as I can but you are a natural.
