I love shania twains ‘man i feel like a woman’ the video reminds me of’ addicted to love’ by robert palmer,i wish i was one of the girls in that video x
Having “missed” my teen girl years, i always feel my sexiest and most feminine listening to females singers/performers who’s songs are strong and passionate about the experience of being female. Like Britney Spears – “Drop Dead Beautiful” or Kesha – “Blow” or Rhianna – “Cake”
What a great topic. As I continue to find ways to rewire, rethink and tap into my own femininity, music has certainly been a powerful venue. Of course, my all time fav is “You Make Me Feel (like a natural woman), also by Aretha and “Who’s That Lady” by the Eisley Brothers. Watching women’s television shows, movies and all manner of other media also are windows into the way women think, act and live. Thanks Lucille!
As a DJ, may I also add :- No doubt – Just a girl, INXS – Beautiful girl, Mika – Big girls, Katy Perry – I kissed a girl & most of her songs, Madonna – Material girl & most of her songs, Lady Gaga – Born this way & most of her songs, ABBA – Dancing queen & most of their songs, Kylie Minogue – Red blooded woman & most of her songs, Britney spears & Rihanna as well.
Dearest Ms.Lucille,
I totally love everything you have sent me so far. Oh my Goddess how fem I feel!! After reading your posts I’ve learned to be even more in touch with fem side and it’s beautiful!!! Until next time,Thankyou .OXOX,Femforever ,Michael
Not a bad list, music has always been incredibly inspirational for me, but I don’t need those empowering feminine songs, although I do like run the world. I just need to listen to any female pop song, preferably Britney or Selena Gomez and I all of a sudden feel perfect!
Nice list but for me “man,i feel like a woman” should have been number 1.when i first heard it i was like “yeessss,at last a song that’s about me”.☺
thanks Lucille, that was fun!
some of those performances are a little too wild for me but Shania’s “I Feel Like a Woman” was a song that was a very powerful influence in causing me to finally admit what i really was – or should have been. it helped give me the courage to finally begin letting the world see who i really was. fun, fun, fun. music is such a powerful influence on our moods isn’t it?
love….
I guess ” Natural woman “,comes to mind as one of my confidence builder or one that reinforces my feminine mind, being,or essence done by so many recording artist. Not sure who was the original was. Millie
