Choosing the right perfume is a key part of expressing yourself as a woman. Scent is strongly linked to emotions – and the right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine.
But how do you find that perfect feminizing scent? I’m glad you asked!
In this blog post, written specifically for crossdressers and transgender women, I’ll guide you through various perfume scents and the impressions they create.
By the end, you’ll be able to confidently pick a perfume that matches your unique style and enhances your femininity.
Floral Perfumes
Floral perfumes are created using the scent of a single flower, such as lavender, rose, gardenia, or geranium, or a combination of multiple flowers.
These fragrances are particularly suitable for crossdressers and transgender women since they are the most feminine of fragrances. Wear a floral perfume when you want to express your soft, romantic side.
Examples of floral perfumes include:
- Daisy by Marc Jacobs
- Estée Lauder White Linen
- Dior J’Adore
- Stella by Stella McCartney
- Kenzo Flower by Kenzo
- L‘Air du Temps by Nina Ricci
Fruity Perfumes
Fruity perfumes contain citrus scents, such as lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, peach, kiwi, etc.
With their fresh and youthful character, fruity perfumes are an excellent choice when you desire to feel confident and energetic.
Examples of fruity perfumes include:
- L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani
- Cartier Eau de Cartier
- Sun Flowers by Elizabeth Arden
- Beautiful Sheer by Estée Lauder
- DKNY by Donna Karan
- Emporio White by Giorgio Armani
Fresh Perfumes
Fresh perfumes, also known as green scents, are light and airy, evoking notes of grass, green leaves, and the ocean.
Energetic and rejuvenating, fresh perfumes are perfect for when you’re “en femme” as they elevate your mood and create a comforting atmosphere.
Examples of fresh perfumes include:
- J.Lo Glow by Jennifer Lopez
- Fifth Avenue by Elizabeth Arden
- Diorissimo, Dune by Christian Dior
- Bond No. 9
- Safari by Ralph Lauren
Oriental Perfumes
Oriental perfumes emanate a rich and dramatic aura, blending scents of spices, musk, vanilla, and intense flowers.
These perfumes exude a sexy and sophisticated allure. Just remember to opt for a lighter fragrance, as oriental perfumes can lean towards the masculine side.
Examples of oriental perfumes include:
- Dior Addict
- Lancome Attraction
- Opium by Yves Saint Laurent
- Samsara by Guerlain
- Lalique Perfume by Lalique
- Sun Moon & Stars by Karl Lagerfeld
Woody Perfumes
Woody perfumes are heavy and dramatic and incorporate scents like sandalwood, patchouli, and cedar.
While woody perfumes are sensual and exotic, they lean more towards the masculine spectrum of fragrances. Hence, you may want to avoid this particular type.
Examples of woody perfumes include:
- Passion by Elizabeth Taylor
- Escada by Escada
- Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
- Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan
- Habanita by Molinard
- Givenchy Organza
What’s YOUR favorite perfume?
Keep these guidelines in mind – but remember, the most important criteria for choosing a perfume is how beautiful and feminine it makes YOU feel!

I like Imari Mistigue or Seduction by Avon. In the past I have enjoyed Black Diamonds or Black Pearls by Elizabeth Taylor.
I have always loved and worn Jungle Gardenia. It was my first but I do have a small bottle of channel#5 which I occasionally wear. I prefer floral scents and have been complemented often on my choices. A signature fem scent is just icing on the cake along with accessories , and color. I just wish we could buy a bottle of that natural womanly scent found between a gg females legs. Now that combined with our favorite perfume is a killer combination. Ooooops there I go again with my vagina envy 🙂
“Exceptional” by Exceptional most of the time, “Midnight Poison” by Dior evenings or at night. I usually apply a very small spritz to both sides of my neck and make sure a little bit is caught by my hair too. This way, it seems to last a little bit longer.

Only two Scents Needed for Moi. Estee Lauder Youth Dew for Nights Out and Ted Hardy for Daytime. Youth Dew still Top Seller since The 1950s and Really Last on the Skin and it has a different smell on Individuals. x Nici
I prefer fruity scents. They are readily found almost anywhere, and are hard to overdo – It’s always better to do less than more. Even strange name drugstore brands are usually effective and draw compliments. A tip I picked up somewhere: try the merest hint of something like Old Spice along with your regular scent; it adds an interesting dimension. Once again, less is better. Along those lines, when dancing, especially in groups, the effect of your scent will be increased due to increased body heat. so go easy and don’t gas anyone out. M-m-m-m, what’s that delightful smell?
I normally wear Chanel #5 or 19 but have three daughters in their twenties so when they have something different I can often borrow a squirt of theirs
