Stepping out publicly as a woman is a powerful way to validate your female self.
In fact, I recently published a poll asking “How often do you go out in public as a woman?”
I was happy to see that the majority of my readers (transgender women and crossdressers) go out at least occasionally.
No matter how often you do it, I’m sure you can remember your first time presenting as a woman or crossdressing in public.
Since this is such an important gender-affirming step, I’d love to hear about it!
When was it? Where did you go? And what was your experience?
Please share with us in the comments below!
And if you’ve never been en femme in public, I’m sure you’ll find lots of inspiration in these stories.
As always, thank you for reading and participating!
Love,
Lucille

Good Luck to you, I wish that I could do as much as you, but am currently my ‘dreams’ are kept inside or in the deep of the night.
Maxine : I hope you are able to fulfill your adventures in public. ..I have been out in public since 1967…& now out weekly. . How am I doing? ?
You are so right about the first time being so memorable. I love it each time I do but GF and I still talk about the first time almost daily
When I was last working, I used to pack a skirt and ladies top in my work case and tuck a pair of court shoes under the seat of my car. After the meeting I would stop by a pull in and change from my suit into my female clothes. I already had a silk camisole, suspender/garter belt and stockings on. So I would drive home as a woman. Not so public , but I used to park up a little way from home and take a walk around the block. That’s not all. At night when my wife had gone to bed and was asleep, I would ‘transform’ myself to watch the Tv and sometimes go out and dare the people in the town to find me out (they never did, but hey it was dark!), that was public yet in a sort of hidden way. have not got the nerve at the moment to do my preferred dressing outside (especially during the day) just yet. I think the time will come, as I feel so much more comfortable in ladies clothes.

First I’d like thank all u ladies for giving your answers on here=my first experience was on my own although some of women didn’t really notice me and the guy’s paid no attention I was shopping one day when a little girl ask me what I was turned an said to her I’m woman like your mom is she looked at her mother and ask her if I was then she said excuse her she doesn’t know any better with lady looking straight at me couldn’t tell if I was guy dressed up or not she herself though I was another woman shopping and then same day came across simler situation once again I fooled the people around me thinking I was a woman
the first time out was with my wife and her cousin felt very fem. don’t know how well I passed but having others with me was a big releife it was so great to feel free no one said anything probley didn’t even notice me. Good advice to all crossdressers tell your intendent ahead of time don’t wait to get married and then find out she cant take it or worse have children involved. My crossdressing I thought would end when I got married it just increased thankfully she was fully awear and accepting of me crossdressing
always am thin so first time i went i was 24, bought make up from dollar store hoisery, then at kohls i got black heel boots on sale for $27 and shapewear, a white cheap casual dress, and a legit push up bra from walmart $10 instead of payin 40 and already had brunette wig, the main key to look great is removing hair, so after about 30 min i was all ready, once i looked at myself i was stunned i looked just as good as jlo or beyonce and similar to kim k but better, i was very passable went out to at bout 9pm with a girlfreind went to dinner and club had more fun than i expected and not one person noticed or thought i was a dude, once the night was end around 1130 we went to gas station i usually go so worker knew me to buy a drink when i first walked in just quiet no notices but once i went to pay the girl at cashier started gigling to herself laughing but looked happy and thought it was hilarious, when i went there next time she told me she cudnt even tell and how passable good looking young woman i am from my walk ,style, make up, now its been awhile this was 4 year ago so my new goal is to be full time woman trans to get back to that look a lil similar in picture, and by doin that my life will be more fun lil easier, better financially oppurtunity and easier to find place as looking like that will have my expenses and life paid for wish me luck
The first time out in public was many years ago. Went out for Halloween dress kinda “slutty” with my wife. I shaved my exposed areas my wife herpes me with my make up wore flat shoes carried a purse with a compact and lip stick . Spent the evening at a bar Halloween party. went home around 12 the kids where asleep in bad and sister in-laws was watching them wife changed out of her costume I wanted to stay as I was as long as I could. She said we needed to go to the food store so I started my skirt and re new-ed my lip stick and said let’s go she wanted me to change I said I wanted to go like this and we went. After that she Deeside she didn’t want me to do it any more so I had to go under ground have done stealth mode when she wasn’t around but only last year went in public again, after many years. I could relate how I worked up to going out in public is someone is interested.
let your gf know before you get married you may save yourself a world of trouble and your dressing up increases after marriage the womans clothes are always rite in front of you. dressed in girls clothes since my earliest childhood days that I can remember only wanted to dress in ladies clothes even more after marriage.I guess its the same with all crossdressers.
