Choosing the right words to describe your gender identity can feel tricky. For transgender and non-binary people, finding a label that fits is personal and important.
Using respectful language matters. Outdated or offensive terms can hurt, so it’s okay to set boundaries about how others address you.
At the same time, you are more than a label. What matters most is how you choose to define yourself, no matter where you are on the gender spectrum.
Do you have a label that feels right – like crossdresser, transgender woman, non-binary, or something else?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, so let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille
I am a non-op transwoman who would take the plunge across the gender line permanently if I were single-my wife loves me and it would hurt her to change our relationship to such an extent as surgery. I’m semi-retired and when I’m fully retired then I’ll be able to bring out the true me-she doesn’t mind being married to a feminine spouse in all other aspects of our life together.
You’re a lucky person Michelle to have a good partner, that’s a big stepping stone in life.
When I was little I called myself a girl. I grew up and now I am a woman. I just have a birth defect is all. If I was born blind or deaf or with a cyst on my face etc I would not be “oh that blind person, or deaf person or person with a cyst”. I would be a woman. So for me it is simple. I am a woman and I have a birth defect that I was born with that hopefully will be repaired before I die lol. 🙂

I CLASS MYSELF SA TRANSGENDERED FEMALE.THOUGH I DON’T LIKE LABELS.LABELS ARE SOCIETYS WAY OF LIMITING PEOPLE AND THEIR POSSIBILITIES.A LABEL IS GIVEN TO SOMEONE ,SO AS OTHERS CAN FEEL SUPERIOR AND OR THEN FIGURE HOW TO POSSIBLY RELATE TO THAT PERSON. TO ME BEST THING IS JUST TREAT PEOPLE AS HUMAN BEINGS. THAT WHAT MATTERS FIRST AND FOREMOST.AFTER ALL WE ARE HUMAN. LOVE TO ALL TRANS,KAYLEE
I started out referring to myself as transgender, then transsexual, as I learned more about the distinction and settling on transsexual woman for a period of time. Now, the only time I ever have to refer to myself as such is when talking to medical professionals. The rest of the time I am, quite simply, a woman, or better yet, Jessica.
I don’t believe in labels. I’m a woman, unfortunately in a man’s body. I’m one of the girls…PROUD OF IT…
crossdresser, but feel like a woman trapped inside male body, feel it’s too late and not enough funds to finish the transition
Well I prefer NO label at all Im just a person, BUT sadly I must adopt one, and the one Ive always chosen is crossdresser, basically because it does describe what I do, because I was born a male,..but then again do women who wear suits and pants and workclothes call themselves “crossdressers” I THINK NOT !
I would like to see the word, bi gender, or crossgender or maybe just “PERSON !”
AMEN to that one sista, I too agree, I see myself as HUMAN too and why can’t two “humans” fall in love and be together or just visit or chat and be known as “humans” but I know how you feel, society rules us these “labels” as in, (not to compare us to “milk” but humor me for a moment, and its like saying, hmmm, what “type” of milk are we… ^_^ Its so true… ^_^ an some are “quick to judge” these metaphorical milks, in a sense… if you follow what I mean… ^_^ SMILES all around,

I am really confused as I am 70% girl and I don’t know what to do. I am really embarrassed with people calling me “thank you Sir.”
But still the person need beautiful chest, hair, and no genitel. How that going to happen? Idon’t know.
