Hair removal can significantly enhance your femininity and attractiveness, especially in the bikini area. After all, who doesn’t want to feel extra pretty in their panties?
In this blog post, I’ll share everything you need to know about bikini hair removal for crossdressers and trans women.
We’ll explore the best hair removal methods, their pros and cons, and important tips you won’t want to miss.
So, let’s get started on achieving a smooth and flawless bikini area!
Shaving
Shaving is a simple and affordable method of removing hair from the bikini area, allowing for convenient at-home hair removal.
Pros:
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Inexpensive compared to other hair removal methods
- Conveniently done in the comfort of your own home
Cons:
- Potential for razor burn, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps
- Hair regrowth can happen quickly and feel coarse or stubbly
- Requires frequent upkeep to maintain smooth skin
Tips:
- Start with exfoliation: Gently exfoliate the bikini area before shaving to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
- Use a sharp razor: Ensure you’re using a clean, sharp razor blade to minimize irritation and achieve a closer shave.
- Shave in the direction of hair growth: Shave in the same direction as hair growth to reduce the likelihood of razor burn and ingrown hairs.
- Moisturize afterward: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer after shaving to soothe and hydrate the skin.
Waxing
Waxing is a popular method for MTF bikini hair removal, offering longer-lasting results compared to shaving. It can be done at home or by a professional.
Pros:
- Results last longer than shaving
- Slower hair regrowth, often resulting in finer hair
- No more shaving nicks or cuts
Cons:
- Can be painful, especially for those with sensitive skin
- Can be expensive, particularly when done at a salon
- Risk of ingrown hairs, especially in the bikini area
Tips:
- Trim hair to a suitable length: Trim bikini hair to about a quarter-inch before waxing for more effective results.
- Test wax temperature: Check the wax temperature on a small area to avoid burns.
- Stretch the skin: Hold the skin taut while applying the wax strip to minimize discomfort and ensure a cleaner removal.
- Apply soothing products: After waxing, apply a soothing gel or aloe vera to calm the skin and reduce redness or inflammation.
Depilatory Creams
Depilatory creams, also known as hair removal creams, dissolve the hair at the skin’s surface using chemicals.
Pros:
- Can be done at home
- Quick and easy hair removal method
- Slower hair regrowth compared to shaving
Cons:
- Chemicals in the cream can cause skin irritation
- Results may not last as long as other methods
- Strong odor
Tips:
- Patch test first: Perform a patch test on a small area to check for adverse reactions or allergies before applying the cream to a larger area.
- Follow the instructions: Read and carefully follow the instructions on the depilatory cream packaging for safe and effective use.
- Apply an even layer: Use a spatula or applicator to apply a smooth, even layer of the cream for full coverage.
- Remove with caution: Gently remove the cream at the specified time using a damp cloth or the provided spatula, avoiding rubbing or scraping the skin.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution by targeting and destroying hair follicles using laser technology, resulting in reduced hair growth over time.
Pros:
- Long-lasting results
- Less painful than waxing
- Eliminates ingrown hairs
Cons:
- Can be expensive
- Multiple sessions required for optimal results
- Not effective on all hair types and skin tones (especially light hair and dark skin tones)
Tips:
- Consult a professional: Seek a consultation with a licensed professional to determine if laser hair removal is suitable for you and discuss the specific treatment plan.
- Avoid sun exposure: Minimize sun exposure to the bikini area before and after laser sessions to reduce the risk of skin damage or pigmentation changes.
- Shave before treatment: Shave the bikini area a day or two before your laser session to enable effective targeting of hair follicles without burning surface hair.
- Follow aftercare instructions: Adhere to the recommended aftercare instructions provided by the professional, which may involve avoiding hot baths, exfoliation, or specific skincare products to protect the treated area.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
IPL is similar to laser hair removal, but it uses a different kind of light. Instead of a concentrated laser beam, IPL uses a broader spectrum of light that isn’t as focused.
Because of this, IPL can cover a larger treatment area, but it takes more sessions since the light is less powerful.
Pros:
- Faster than laser hair removal since it covers a larger area
- Good availability of at-home devices
- Usually less painful than laser hair removal
Cons:
- Requires more sessions compared to laser hair removal
- More risk of irritation due to the broader light spectrum used
- Can only be used on lighter skin tones / darker hair tones
Tips:
- Choose the right device: Invest in a high-quality IPL device that is suitable for your skin and hair type. (The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 is popular choice among my blog readers.)
- Prepare your skin: Before using IPL, shave your skin to ensure that the IPL light targets the hair follicles directly.
- Follow the treatment schedule: Consistency is key for effective IPL hair removal, so be sure to follow the treatment schedule provided by the manufacturer.
- Protect your skin: After IPL treatment, your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. Apply sunscreen to the treated areas whenever they are exposed to the sun.

PETA
WOW,
I have been using a home laser removal tool for almost a year.
It is a lot of work to clear large areas but evntually it pays off. I find it strange that Lucille does not discuss the latest and most wonderful technology. My chest and pubes are mostly gone for good now. There are at least 2 manufacturers of home laser hair removal products. I love my now silky smooth chest and stomach which always had lots of hair. Some areas may be difficult to do yourself but if you find the right partner to help it is a not so bad process.
Have fun all you sweeties!
After years of shaving everywhere, and electrolysis on my face, I have ordered the home laser unit from Costco. It will not arrive until Monday but I did a lot of research and this one seemed to be the best.
My issue is not so much with my pubic area which after 20 years of shaving is not a problem but it would be nice to not have to shave the area every day or so. My legs don’t have much hair but I have to shave my arms every day or they will get a bad stubble that feels like sand paper which my partner hates.
I will report on it once it arrives and both my partner and I have a chance to use it as she also keeps her pubic area shaved.
Hi, I’ve heard mixed reviews about the home laser hair removal kits – but that is awesome that you had such great results! They are definitely an option. In fact, I’ll do a blog post later about home laser hair removal so other girls can chime in about their results.
Thanks for bringing this up!
I have been feminizing for four years and as of late been running into stumbling blocks as I have been homelesss living in shelters and have been told not ot femminize in front of them …..I frustrated.
I have been wanting larger breasts for a very long time but my wife is not sure about it afraid what would happen if some one found out. She thinks I have to good of chance to grow very large. Naturally no padding I wear a 38 B or 38C depending on cut and style. I shave entire body sometimes leave a little patch above my big boy clit. I love dressing up real sexy and getting used by a man
Really glad that you have brought up this subject. I keep myself shaved smoothly. I love having a hairless pubic area. It feels so much more fem that way. Still find it hard to get my scrotum really smooth. I shave my pubic area once to twice a week whenever I shave my legs. It is part of my normal routine now.
Hi Lucille,
I have totally shaved for many years. I use Venus Razors and if I get a little irritation, Ill just put on a little Aloe Vera gel. I love the looke and feel very feminine when totally hairless. Thanks for giving us girls this forum..
Hugs, Sheila Wheeler
Hi Lucille
I have been following your articles for several years now and this has to be one of the best. I agree with all the comments regarding going “Brazilian”. It is the only way to go; it is clean, hygenic, erotic, sensual, and feminine. To have an “enfemme” having hair anywhere unkempt except on her head, is actually a total out-off. I tried to have a “Bikini” once and didn’t enjoy at all.
It is so erotic and thoroughly feminine to put on stockings and satin lingerie on smooth legs and pubic area and the rest of the body – I just keep wanting more and more feminiization it is just so beautiful. Yes all girls should think and be this way.
Thank you for your articles
Gerald (Georgina)
Bald IS beutiful!
I have been using the Shick Intuition, for sensitive skin, razor for many years now. I can shave all of my pubic region every day, in the shower, if I want to with no irritation.
It does take several passes in most areas to get the best results, but the end results are worth the time and effort.
