Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

Hi everyone, I’m 54yo and I’m kinda just getting started along the more difficult part of my journey. The actual transition. I hate that I waited so long but am pretty delighted to be moving forward.
I’ve come out to several people at my workplace and I’ve gotten 100% favorable feedback. Even from persons that I deemed to be more, how shall we say… mainstream. I also talked about it with my ‘little’ brother. He told me he was stunned but not surprised. Understandable, to be sure. I doubt he ever thought he’d had three sisters instead of only two.
I used to pray that I would wake up in the morning one day with breasts and other changes. I wanted the best surgeon on the job, God! Well, apparently he was all booked up so now I have to take the proverbial bull by the gonads and make this thing happen.
I’m in the process of making plans but first I must get some issues out of the way. By issues I mean ex. And she ain’t gonna go quietly. We were together for 14 years and we raised a dachshund from a young pup till now (he is now 7yo). All told, this relationship has lasted 17 years. My dog, Finneganis technically mine. Everything concerning his ownership is in my name. We share custody but I want to break from her completely. She is, and if this goes on, will continue to be, a thorn in my side. She doesn’t accept me. What’s really messed up is that she encouraged me early on in our relationship. This may turn out to be a knock-down, (drag)-out.
Anyway, I’ve waited a lonnggg time but I’m not waisting any more.
I kept my inner desire / fetish for crossdressing in lingerie and pantyhose in check until all three kids were grown and gone. Then I slowly introduced the idea to my wife and the mother of our kids.
Once the shock wore off, and I could see she was struggling to get a grip on the whole idea, and wondering just who I was, having believed she knew, me…an intimate time of sharing occurred. Being able to share fantasy, and emotion with her drew me into the intimacy like never before.
However, as things moved forward, always with an eye on the speed and her acceptance, I came to realize that she basically doesn’t like it. Its a fair emotion for her to have. I won’t buck that or try to make her change to please me.
I just keep things out of her field of vision now, and keep it private. I would love it if she would share this side with me, but I don’t see that happening…its just not who she is, but I love her as my soul-mate, and would not change her, or try.
Sincerely,
“Robyn”

Hi, I am 64 and have begun transitioning after many years of on and off crossdressing…
I have been transitioning séance I was 23 Nov, 20th 2010 now I’m 30. I say to myself when I see older people who are transitioning its better late then never.
I will be forty this year and only came out last October. Seen than I have gotten happier, bolder, and over all better feeling about the future. Be your self! You know, the person you are when know one else is around. be that girl, because I bet she is pretty damn cool.
Hello,
Just wanted to say how beautiful you look!
Hugs,
Marcy

Hi – I am 71 and retired two years ago. I now live my life almost 100% as a woman. I am rather small – 5’6″ and 150 lbs and seem to blend in like any other woman when I am out somewhere. I still like short skirts, but try to keep it to a minimum! Anyhow, I am truly loving my life as a female, and have been lucky to meet a nice man lately who loves treating me like a lady!
Hi Suzy,
I am so happy that you are out at your age! I am 64 and still questioning myself.. You have given me encouragement..
Hugs,
Marcy
I am 56 years old and just started the full experience of CD in public over the past few months. I found a wonderful makeup artist who embraces and fully supports me and makes me feel proud of what I am doing. I feel like my ability to ever do makeup that would look good is non existent so having it professionally done gives me tons more confidence. So I go out with professional makeover, wig, clothes, fake nails, heels, jewelry etc and spend the day out having a blast!
You look great. I will take your results and see how it works for me
Thank you! Let me know if I can support you in any way!!!
Hello Jen,
You look very beautiful! How did you find someone to do a makeover for you?
Hugs,
Marcy
Just had makeover and photoshoot a few days ago. Waiting for final proofs but I was thrilled with the few early pics she shared with me! I will get some on here as soon as I can!
Any luck in finding someone? It might be easier than you think!!!
Plus I knew I would never be able to do makeup that looked any good at all. Plus I’ve learned that the makeover itself can be a wonderful and enjoyable experience. I’m sure you can find someone near you!!
Oh just saw your other note below. I’m planning on short skirt and 4 inch heels for shoot then head to the mall. Don’t be afraid to go out sexy!!!
So I got the nerve to go on thumbtack website and just be honest about what I wanted to experience. I got just one response from a young lady who was just so open and supportive and it was all history from there. I am having my 4th makeover with her in 2 weeks then a professional sexy (hopefully lol) photo shoot (also found through thumbtack) immediately after which I am super excited about!!! This will be first photo shoot. I’m kinda scared/nervous/excited all at once since I’ve never really “posed”as a woman before!!! Wish me luck!!
You look great Jen, go ahead!
I have only crossdressed having fun with really sweet and naughty prostitutes, while getting some drinks and so on and then come out like relieved. And that’s good too. Live fantasies!
Thanks for the support! Yes each time I go out in public it gets easier. I have read (I think on this site) to go hang out with women while in CG mode is a good way to blend in more so thanks for the ideas! I may get my photographer and makeup artist to go out with me next time to party – as a good next step!!!
you look fantastic you go girl
Thank you so much I appreciate the note! I also recently found a photographer who wants to capture my next event with a professional photo shoot session which will be happening in mid May! I’m so excited!!!!
