Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!

Lucille

I am 61 & I will never stop dressing as Joanne. If I ever get the chance to take female hormones, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. I love being a woman & being treated as a woman by my male friends, the more they treat me as the woman I want to be, the better I make them feel & I will never say no.
I am 66 and yearn to wear female clothing again. When I was in my early thirties I went to a transformation shop and came out looking like a woman. I even drove home like it. Luckily it was night time when I got home so no one saw me. I gave it up as my wife did not like it. I still shave my body tho. I can’t stop. I feel as if I’m too old and overweight now and I am diabetic type 2. I would love to take hormones to grow breasts and maybe later have surgery to remove my genitals. Unfortunately I can’t see this happening
I have been a cross dresser since I was 12. I am now 73! Like most trannies I have purged every so often and given up for some time. I actually gave up for 20 years after I got married! I have spent a small fortune on clothes, wigs and makeup and got rid of it all time and again! And after giving it all up again 3 years ago, I have just started again. I wish I could tell my wife, but I don’t know how to do that. Any advice from anyone?
Hi knew that I wanted to be a girl from five or six years old but as I was born in 1948 the word transgender had never been heard so I spent most of my life living the “normal”life I married but cross dressed in secret it was when I got to my mid sixties when I couldn’t go on living as a man so started my transition and started living full time as a woman I got my first appointment at the Nottingham gender clinic in April 2018 and only 18months later I had my reassignment surgery done on the 18th of October at the grand old age of 70 and NO you are never to old to do anything that your hearts desires
I started taking feminizing hormones at age 64 and came out as a transgender woman-I feel like it’s never too late to be your true authentic self And express the Woman Within♀️
As a child wearing the girls school uniform as most of the other kids thought I was a girl as I could pass off I was skinny and had really long hair. And now I’m a adult I dress as often as I can and I wear lingerie when I make love as it makes me feel sexy and a woman.
I came out at 60. The hardest thing was overcoming my own fears. I love being told I need to dress my age. “I didn’t do this so I could conform to societal standards” Besides, I am dressed appropriately for an 18 year old girl.

I was 66 and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Maybe it was there for decades. Not sure. I enjoy women’s clothes. I have been seeing a gender therapist. Not sure where this will take me. I have too many health issues.
