Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!

I started my transition in 2021 and I was 61. I at 1st thought I was too old but I heard ppl online say not so! So I went forward with HRT and am having Vaginoplasty October 10th. It has made me feel much younger and I have felt much freer in spite of the accompanying Dysphoria and adversity and it has been very exciting to be the person I was too afarid to be only inside my closet!
I’ve been expressin my feminine side since a was a teen now at 69 I’m so glad I did even though it was sometimes hard to hear the ridiculous comments most people have greeted me with a friendly smile and help
I COMPLETELY agree that one is never too old to continue a journey of self-discovery. And if that journey includes transitioning or cross-dressing, pursue it to the greatest extent possible. I think being true to oneself is the most liberating and anxiety-relieving thing one can do.
I Didn’t start questioning until I was almost 50. Although, in hindsight I knew something by about 5 years old. I started medically transitioning when I was 57. I am now 61(in a couple days) and have never been happier :>) So no It is never too late to be yourself. Some of us just take longer to realize that :>)
At the age of 81, and being a Klinefelter Syndrome teenager that left me with a female body and hermaphrodite top and bottom I’m past walking out in a frock and hi heels.. However, I need a bra to support tired and weary full breasts and it may as well be an attractive feline one because that’s how I still feel. For years you couldnt tell whether I was female or male. Now age has caught up. Welcome to flesh sagging girls!
I am 43years old and am into closeted cross dressing. I look at myself a younger one when i dress up as a woman.. 🙂
I used to cross dress from around 7-8 and always felt better when I did, but it was always discouraged. By family and society at the time. I struggled with my identity for years, finally at 49 after health scare I decided to address my inner issues and find out who the real me is. I finally came out as Transgender and now at 54 finally feel free to be myself, I am surrounded by family and friends who accept me for who I am and I would never go back, so much happier and enjoying life!!
i am now 71 and still enjoy crossdressing, i started about 10 years ago
