Age is a popular topic around here and I’m occasionally asked…
“Am I too old to crossdress?” or “Am I too old to transition as a transgender woman?”
My response?
NO, of course not!
Whether you are a so-called mature crossdresser – or an older MTF woman beginning her transition – it is NEVER too late to be your true female self.
I believe that the true desires or your heart are meant to be expressed – no matter how long they’ve been buried.
Is it true that your age may have an impact on hormone therapy or surgery? Yes, that’s possible. But a good doctor will guide you on your best and safest options.
The fact remains that you can transition and/or present yourself as a woman at any point in life.
In fact, embracing your feminine side can give you a whole new lease on life…
I see it all the time: People seem to grow years younger when they make the decision to be themselves fully.
Having the courage to express your true self also inspires others to do the same. The world needs more of this!
In the words of Laverne Cox:
“It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist.”
I’ll say it again: You are NEVER too old to be your true female self.
So, I encourage you to take that next step and do whatever it is that you’ve been holding back on.
You deserve it. And it’s not too late!
Do you agree that age is just a number?
Now I’d love to hear from YOU on this topic…
How old were you when you decided to fully embrace your female self? (Or are you still waiting?)
Let’s continue the conversation in the comments below!
Love,
Lucille

I too have been dressing for as long as I can remember, but it was probably 2014 when I reached out to my first friend and share my Julie Life. (my wife has know since befiore we got married, but she would rather not be involved) My friend Sarah was instrumental in getting Julie Out And About. Since then, my circle of Sister Friends has grown, but rather slowly.
I dunno–as I age–I just get Uglier –Not fat or anything like that, but my face has wrinkles & bumps that makeup doesn’t hide- paying for a dermatologist is out of my income bracket-(if they Could even do anything)–
I am still waiting. I have tried a couple of times to join groups(of like minded people) only to have life interfere. I am 62 and since moving to south central PA, I have had trouble finding any like minded individuals in my area.
I started my HRT at age 62
And the honest truth is I have never felt better. My overall health improved and I look 20 years younger due to facial fat distribution. All my deep wrinkles are now gone. I am doing it for myself and dont really worry about what other people think. I am happy and thats all thats important.
Im 63 still being the woman of my dreams. Its never too old.
I’m 75 years old and still feel young at heart. You’re never too old to indulge in the things that make you happy and I am never happier than when dressed. I think I can pass as a woman but see for yourself and let me know. Always like compliments but feel free to be honest. xx
So pretty and beautiful
I’ve been crossdressing my whole life but really embraced my femme side in 2019 when I came out to my wife. I am currently 76 years old and not too gnarly appearing as my male self. However, when Kathryn emerges in the mirror, I have had people tell me I look 20 years younger! So, no, it’s never too late to be who you are!
No for me age is not a problem. It’s a state of mind. The transition give so much power when we realize all the benefits and appreciation of oursellf grow affirming our true inner self we are. MTF has no age.

I don’t think that age matters for many. But i think when you are younger then 50 your skin is better for make up. What is most important for me is the shape of my body. At the moment i am 15 kg more then normal. My belly is so big, this for me is the reason not to dress as a women. I don’t want to look as a fat women, this i think is not how i see a women. So age can be a reason not to dress as a women when the skin is getting old, or when the body doesn’t look female again.
