The fastest way to transform your image as a transgender woman or crossdresser is to change your hairstyle.
Whether you wear a wig or style your own natural hair, your hairstyle speaks volumes about your female self.
What does your hairstyle say about YOU?
Keep reading to find out!
Straight Hair
Straight, frizz-free hair shows that you’re a perfectionist who likes to be in control. Straight hair is beautiful and elegant, but it can also make you appear a bit serious and unapproachable.
Wavy Hair
Wavy hair is an ultra-feminine hairstyle that reflects a woman who is creative and confident. Loose waves give off a free-spirited vibe, while glamorous waves shout “bombshell.”
Curly Hair
Women with curly hair are perceived as fun-loving and a bit wild. Passionate and big-hearted, they can also be seen as drama queens.
Bob Cut
Bob cuts are trendy and stylish. They reflect a woman who is powerful and assertive, but who still likes to look great and make a statement.
Bangs
Bangs add a youthful, feminine touch to any hairstyle. Women with bangs are seen as fun and flirtatious.
Short Hair
Short hair says you’re a carefree woman who doesn’t like to fuss over things. It also reflects confidence since you don’t need to hide behind your hair.
And in case you are wondering, YES! Short hair can look feminine. See this post on 3 Tips for Feminizing Short Hair to learn more.
Long Hair
Long hair is a classic symbol of femininity and gives off a romantic, seductive vibe. However, it can look “cheap” if it’s damaged or fake-looking.
Shoulder Length Hair
Shoulder-length hair is the most versatile hairstyle. It shows that you know how to strike a balance between your serious and seductive sides. You’re a bit of a chameleon, which is a great quality to have!

I love my hair just on my shoulders and a little wild. I have had longer hair but I love the cute look of my hair now. I love flipping my hair right at the right moment as a way of flirting.
I enjoy my hair styled in a mid-length softly waved with a bit of side parted bangs. I like my color to be a blend of ash blonde mixed with grey.
My hair says that I am not totally free to express everything about me. I wore my hair very long but finally cut it shorter because I was losing roles as an actor (community theatre…long hours no money). I can apply gel and appear (somewhat) masculine or curl it and go out and about without a care in the world. I also realized that as I have become an AARP member that long hair tends to pull my face down. I look younger and prettier with shorter hair.

I read years ago for those who are Cross Dressing or maybe Transitioning and are using wigs, maybe because of Male Pattern Baldness or growing their hair out should take these Tips when Wig Shopping,
Try to find a wig that can possibly hide a Male Jaw Line near the ear.
A Wig that is Long enough to sit several inches (2+4in) past the nape of the Neck and down the Back, this will break up Male Shoulder Width.
A Wig that might have the ability to be combed with Bangs to hide a Male Forehead.
And last, a Wig that either has a Left or Right Part,
a Center Part forms a line down the Face bringing Attention to the Male Nose, which is different than a Female Nose, but can be contoured to look more Female., ….but why bring attention to your Male Nose.
It you take these Tips when Wig Shopping it can help.
When you do find the Wig for you, try a Makeup App called “Perfect 365”. You can take a photo with your current Wig Color and change the Color, to see if that Color looks good with your Skin Tone etc.
That’s how Tested before buying an Auburn version of my Brown Wig
Hi Gia. You always look so well put together and your hair suits your face. You’ve seen me with short(to frame my face) and mid-length.
since I am partially bald wigs are my only option and I will take your and Suzy’s tips to heart. See you soon

Great tips Gia! And I might add, a wig is so important! This is the one item on your shopping list that you don’t want to be cheap on! Get a quality wig! Not one that is cheap. This is one item I always paid top dollar for – I.e., $600 or $700. Get a good one! Hugs, Suzy
Yes, Suzy,
Thank you for mentioning Price and Quality that you get with a Higher Price Wig, ….as apposed to a Low Quality, what I refer to as “A Halloween Wig”
My first Wig,( Envy Brand) as seen in my Photo was a Clearance Item, that normally would be $350., with a full cap that can be styled with a Left or Right Part,I got it for $80, that was a fabulous Price.
I have since purchased several more Wig from Envy in different Shades. I currently own 5 Wigs.
Wavy hair that curls around the neck and lays midway over the chest area is my preference. It is so feminine. It makes one so attractive if other areas are also classy like the clothes, jewelry and makeup. The goal is for the outside to match the beauty of the inner most feminine persona.
At 74 in October, I am trying to do a”Do” that tends to make me look as” young” as possible.
90% of the time I am in a shorter, red color.
I also wear a dark, bangs, with & without a ponytail. Also, the ” age appropriate ,gray, flip, shoulder length. Also have a shorter, black curly.
Take a look and tell me what you think .
All these wigs came from the wig provider to Dolly Parton in Nashville,TN.
Always spend some money,to get quality.Cheap ain’t good!

I have always been a shoulder length girl. Since I’m retired, and in my early 70’s, it works best for me. Here I am the other day. What do you think? Hugs!
