Do you dream of having a curvy hourglass figure? If so, it’s all about the hips!
Fortunately, there are several ways to achieve feminine hips as a crossdresser or transgender woman, including both temporary and permanent options.
In this blog post, we’ll look at the top 5 ways to get bigger hips so you can attain a more feminine body shape. Read on to learn more!
1. Hip Pads
Padding your hips is the quickest and easiest way to achieve those desired lower body curves.
Hip pads come in a variety of different styles and are specifically designed to mimic the natural look and feel of actual hips.
The most popular options include removable hip pads and padded panties with built in hip padding. Here’s what you need to know about each option:
Removable hip pads
Removable hip pads are typically made of foam or silicone and are designed to be worn under clothes to add volume and shape to the hips.
Though most removable hip pads are attached to the skin with adhesive, they should be worn with hosiery or shapewear to hold them securely in place.
The advantage of removable hip pads is that they can be easily adjusted or repositioned as desired. And because they come in so many sizes and shapes, you can create the exact feminine hip look you desire.
Padded panties
Padded panties, on the other hand, have built-in padding sewn into the hip area to create a fuller and curvier appearance.
Some styles have padding on both the hips and buttocks, while others only have padding on the hips or butt.
Padded panties are a more convenient option than removable pads since the padding is already built-in. However, the downside is that you cannot reposition them as you can with removable pads.
2. Exercise
While exercise can’t change your bone structure, building up the muscles in the hip and glute area can help you achieve more shapely hips.
To increase the size and definition of the outer hip muscles, focus on exercises that involve moving the leg away from the midline.
Here are some of the best exercises for MTF hip widening:
- Side lunges
- Curtsy lunges
- Squats
- Bulgarian split squats
- Squats with sidekicks
- Clamshells
- Sumo walk
- Hip lifts
- Hip lift progression
- Donkey kick
The 10 minute Curvy Hourglass Hips workout above includes several of these exercises to help build more feminine hips.
3. Clothing
Clothing is another great tool for creating the illusion of wider hips. The right outfit can make all the difference in the world!
Instead of tight skirts or pants that draw attention to flat hips, opt for bottoms with lots of fullness or gathering to add volume to the hip area.
A beautiful, flattering option is a tulip skirt, which adds a rounded curve to your hips and upper legs. An A-line skirt is another great option if you’re into cleaner styles.
Wearing larger prints and bright colors on the bottom is also a great way to visually enlarge the area.
Finally, consider the fabric. Heavier fabrics help create the impression of weight compared to thinner, lighter fabrics.
4. Hormone Therapy
If you are transitioning and seeking a more permanent solution, gender affirming hormone therapy (also known as hormone replacement therapy) could significantly impact your hip area.
Administering estrogen through HRT can promote fat redistribution, boosting hip size by enlarging the fat cells around the hips.
It’s important to note that the effects of hormones on hip size and shape can vary from person to person. These changes can also take several months to become noticeable.
Of course, curvy hips are only half the equation. To get that desired hourglass figure, you will also want to think about your waistline.

5. Hip Augmentation Surgery
Finally, if you’re looking for the most dramatic and permanent way to enhance the shape of your hips, you might want to consider hip augmentation surgery. This can be an important gender affirming surgery for trans women.
The two main types of hip augmentation surgery include hip implants and fat transfer.
Hip implants
Hip implant surgery involves placing silicone implants in the hip area to enhance the size and shape of the hips.
Hip implants come in various sizes and shapes and are similar to those used in breast augmentation surgery. The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia and can take several hours to complete.
During the surgery, the surgeon will make incisions in the skin and create a pocket in the tissue to insert the implant. The implant is then positioned in place and the incisions are closed with sutures.
Fat transfer
Fat transfer, also known as lipofilling or fat grafting, involves transferring fat from another part of the body to the hips.
The surgery begins by harvesting fat from a donor area, such as the abdomen, through liposuction. The extracted fat is then purified and injected into the hips to enhance their volume and shape.
Fat transfer is a more natural option than implants since it uses the patient’s own tissue. However, the amount of fat that can be transferred is limited, and the results may not be as dramatic as with implants.
In Conclusion
I hope this blog post gave you some new ideas for creating shapely, feminine hips.

As typical MTF I ‘m interesting only in natural kinds of enhancing hips and butts. So these exercises are very important to me. As Wicca green witch and a fan of deceased Scott Canningham, I prefer all natural. In pic I’m in a blonde wig, but now I’m grown up my own hair and do only classic kare. Recently I’ve bought a book How to enhance breasts without any medication. It’s a complex of exercises like these. Together with these exercises it will build a system of total body feminizing changes. Thank you very much for these videos.
First the wigs. The tips you gave us will really help. You’ve heard the saying, “I don’t leave home without it.” Well, I don’t leave stay in my home, or leave my home without wearing a wig.
So far, regarding the pads none seem to help me at all. But I keep trying. 🙂
Lucille,
Yes dear girl I dream of an hour glass figure. I am lacking in the hips and butt portion of that dream. Once again great tips and ideas. I will look for better shaping hip pads and panties, and welcome suggestions.
Have fun

For building our glutes with exercise, you can’t go wrong with Dr. Brett Contreras, the Glute Guy:

Absolutely true with everything. I do many exercises to shape my legs and butt.
A nice flowing outfit also helps make things look nice. I either use a corset when I wear a tighter bottom or go for a loose fitting skirt.
The results achievable can be outstanding.
Love you Lucille, you and your programs have helped me so much ❤️
With my crossplays, I use silicone pads (as well as silicone breasts) I purchased on Ebay to widen my hips. I think the seller was DressTech. I was easily mistaken for a genetic woman with those pads in place.
Thanks Lucille for such an interesting blog. I personally use hip pads to enhance my hips. That works for me and I think it’s an important part of the femme image.
Using waist cincher, hip pads and padded panties currently. Exercise video looks promising leading to more natural hip proportions and feminine body shaping. I am not sure how long it takes doing these exercises to get the desired results – doing it on a daily basis would accelerate the time no matter. Exercises look rather rigorous so gradually build up to it I suppose ( I wish I was in as good of shape as the lady in the exercise video and as young – would make things easier ).
My experience is that a male can increase the glute muscles for the bubble butt look by exercise and strenuous bicycle riding is an exercise option. Look at professional bike riders; small shoulders and arms and overly large glutes.. Increasing hips thru exercise…ehh….not so much. Some hip flexor work on an adductor and abductor machine will help modestly.
This is just my personal experience.
The exercise video does mention 14 day workout – is that long enough? She mentions a regimen of 2 new free workouts each week ( is this all for the booty – how many weeks? ).
