Wearing lingerie is a guaranteed way to feel feminine. Best of all, it’s something you can indulge in on a daily basis.
What are the lingerie pieces every trans woman or crossdresser should own?
I’ve compiled a list of 10 must-have transgender / crossdressing lingerie items that should be part of your MTF wardrobe. Read on to learn more!
1. Basic Black Or Nude Bra
Every girl needs a basic bra, so a simple nude or black bra is a must.
If you’re having trouble finding your size, try the Leading Lady Lightly Padded Contour Underwire Bra. It comes in a wide range of sizes that would fit most crossdressers and transgender women. (Band sizes 36-54, cup sizes A-G)
2. Panty Gaff
For a flat and feminine look, a panty gaff is your best friend. A gaff is an undergarment designed to offer a smooth and tucked appearance. Here are a few options:
- Gold Seal Gaff by The Dress Form Store
- Super Strong Hiding Gaff by Suddenly Fem
- Thong Gaff by Glamour Boutique
3. Shaping Camisole
Who couldn’t benefit from a little mid-section slimming? A shaping camisole can help you slim down your waist and stomach without constricting you like a corset or girdle would. I like the camisoles from Yummie, which go up to a size 3x.
4. Padded Panty
If you crave feminine curves (and who doesn’t?), padded panties offer an instant solution. Your options range from light lifting to full-on hip and butt shaping. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Light shaping – Ulta Sheer Padded Panty by FeelFoxy
- Medium shaping – The Glamour Gal Silicone Hip and Butt Padded Shaper
- Full shaping – Veronicas by Classic Curves
5. Nude Or Black Pantyhose
While women don’t wear pantyhose as often as they used to, pantyhose looks more polished than bare skin and enhances the appearance of your legs. Your lingerie wardrobe should definitely include a pair of black and/or nude hose.
6. Slinky Nightie
There’s nothing like slipping into a slinky nightgown to make you feel extra feminine. Whether you prefer long or short, you should own at least one silky nightie. Or better yet, buy a few in different lengths and colors.
7. Basic Panties
Sometimes simple is best! Whether you prefer thongs, bikinis, or briefs, you should own at least a few basic panties.
8. Sexy Bra And Panty Set
While the basics are important, half the fun of lingerie is expressing your sensual side. That’s why no wardrobe is complete without at least one super sexy bra and panty set.
9. Nubra
The Nubra is an adhesive bra that’s fantastic for creating cleavage. Since it’s backless and strapless, it can be worn alone or under another bra. To learn how to create feminine cleavage with the Nubra, see my post on How to Get Feminine MTF Cleavage.
10. Silk Or Satin Robe
A silk or satin robe is a classic boudoir piece that will make you feel ultra feminine. You should have at least one so you have something sensual to slip into when you are at home.
Let’s talk lingerie!
It was hard to narrow this list to just 10 items, so I’d love to hear your thoughts…

Nubra is a lifesaver and a very effective, and comfortable way of showing boobies that are not there! As always, thank you, Lucille for providing wonderful info to us special gurls. ;p
I love all these articles as they are so helpful to us women. I do have most of the items apart from a gaff – I was (luckily, now I guess) born with such a small clitoris that I don’t need one. I tuck so easily and look so flat with some surgical tape – I’m a lucky woman and I know it.
Hi Lucille. If I had to add one item it would be a long, warm, thick (terry cloth) bathrobe. They’re awesome right after a shower, something warm to wear while your body slowly dries and adjusts to the ambient temperature of the room. Mine is navy blue with satin trim and has two belts that tie, one inside and one large/wider one on the outside. It won’t accidentally fall open if you have to answer the doorbell.
Every girl needs a garter belt and thigh highs in her arsenal.
There is nothing mentioned in that list of 10 that I don’t have in abundance. Then again, I need them as I now live full time female and have for about 11 months. I would add cami’s to the list though. I have tons of camisoles in all different colors and materials. I usually prefer the spaghetti straps on mine. I use the seamless ones to wear between my body and any heavy duty body shapers I might choose to wear to prevent irritation. I also enjoy the ones with attached bras or just sewn in stitching that cradles my breasts. I also have matching sets of cami and panties. Its funny but I think I wore bras more often before I started living as a transgender female.
Am waiting for your reply.

no women can go without slips, teddies and night gowns. at least i can not go without. nothing better then wearing a full slip all day. or even a half slip with a camisole. or a teddy with a half slip. then to take them off to put on a long silky night gown.
