Wearing lingerie is a guaranteed way to feel feminine. Best of all, it’s something you can indulge in on a daily basis.
What are the lingerie pieces every trans woman or crossdresser should own?
I’ve compiled a list of 10 must-have transgender / crossdressing lingerie items that should be part of your MTF wardrobe. Read on to learn more!
1. Basic Black Or Nude Bra
Every girl needs a basic bra, so a simple nude or black bra is a must.
If you’re having trouble finding your size, try the Leading Lady Lightly Padded Contour Underwire Bra. It comes in a wide range of sizes that would fit most crossdressers and transgender women. (Band sizes 36-54, cup sizes A-G)
2. Panty Gaff
For a flat and feminine look, a panty gaff is your best friend. A gaff is an undergarment designed to offer a smooth and tucked appearance. Here are a few options:
- Gold Seal Gaff by The Dress Form Store
- Super Strong Hiding Gaff by Suddenly Fem
- Thong Gaff by Glamour Boutique
3. Shaping Camisole
Who couldn’t benefit from a little mid-section slimming? A shaping camisole can help you slim down your waist and stomach without constricting you like a corset or girdle would. I like the camisoles from Yummie, which go up to a size 3x.
4. Padded Panty
If you crave feminine curves (and who doesn’t?), padded panties offer an instant solution. Your options range from light lifting to full-on hip and butt shaping. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Light shaping – Ulta Sheer Padded Panty by FeelFoxy
- Medium shaping – The Glamour Gal Silicone Hip and Butt Padded Shaper
- Full shaping – Veronicas by Classic Curves
5. Nude Or Black Pantyhose
While women don’t wear pantyhose as often as they used to, pantyhose looks more polished than bare skin and enhances the appearance of your legs. Your lingerie wardrobe should definitely include a pair of black and/or nude hose.
6. Slinky Nightie
There’s nothing like slipping into a slinky nightgown to make you feel extra feminine. Whether you prefer long or short, you should own at least one silky nightie. Or better yet, buy a few in different lengths and colors.
7. Basic Panties
Sometimes simple is best! Whether you prefer thongs, bikinis, or briefs, you should own at least a few basic panties.
8. Sexy Bra And Panty Set
While the basics are important, half the fun of lingerie is expressing your sensual side. That’s why no wardrobe is complete without at least one super sexy bra and panty set.
9. Nubra
The Nubra is an adhesive bra that’s fantastic for creating cleavage. Since it’s backless and strapless, it can be worn alone or under another bra. To learn how to create feminine cleavage with the Nubra, see my post on How to Get Feminine MTF Cleavage.
10. Silk Or Satin Robe
A silk or satin robe is a classic boudoir piece that will make you feel ultra feminine. You should have at least one so you have something sensual to slip into when you are at home.
Let’s talk lingerie!
It was hard to narrow this list to just 10 items, so I’d love to hear your thoughts…

I have most of what was mentioned. The issue I have is finding a bra that fits what I measure. I fit smaller then what I measure. I recently got back on HRT after being off it for over a year. my dose of estradiol was uped 2mg so taking 6mg a bay caused my breasts be really grow. And there still growing my band is 32 and bust is 38 1/2” as of this morning. witch means I fit in a 32E or 32G or even a 32F depending on the bra. But I fit smaller then what I measure I fit mutable sizes B C etc. I fit in a 32C or some 34C is what I have been wearing. And gaffs are important as well but they do stretch out over time. Tailoring them so they fit tighter helps to make them last longer, tell you can get new ones. I have found the one I got from crosdressor.com/suddenlyfem didn’t do the job as well as the others I got. I find gaffs to expensive when you have to use them 24/7, but worth having the right one.
Help on now I know bra size = 40 C now need to 86 (get rid of wrong sized bra’s & replace with $$. On the range of up to $60.00? Sousa in Spanish means HELP!!
Hi there i go by the name of Trixie, lingerie i have to agree is my favourite black or red, nighties well a gurl has to have a good silky supply for bed. Makes one feel desired
Just a wee tip when you are thinking “gaff”: Back in the days when I needed to tuck, my favorite tools were bikini bottoms. The material is tough and strong, so will meet all challenges. They come in all styles and sizes of course, and are available everywhere. You can find absolutely gorgeous ones for all occasions, and when you get the perfect sizes, they work amazingly well at keeping your gadgets out of sight. I still wear a few favorite pairs instead of panties sometimes.
One of my favorite retail outlets is Goodwill, especially the bin stores. Things are so cheap you can experiment with hardly any risk of impoverishing yourself, and whatever doesn’t work can always be donated back to them (you can even get a receipt and take a tax deduction). And in the Goodwill bins, both parts of a bikini set can seldom be found together, so you don’t have to feel guilty about breaking up a set.
Hi Joan honey thank you for that excellent tip I’ll have to find some that fit right I need those gadgets you refer to out of sight I have one pair of bikini bottoms but they just don’t work they might be more affordable than the gaffs I’ve been looking at and I might find some in a thrift store if I can afford that Love MJ
Yes Joan. I agree with your choice of wearing bikini bottoms. They seem to work very well. Another thing that I enjoy about them, and it may be just a personal preference, but I like the panty lines that show when I wear a bikini bottom under my jeans. They are shaped in a very feminine way and the thicker, more elastic material shows much better then panties.
“Ken”…Do you like to wear Bras like I do ?
