Do you want to look younger, prettier, and more feminine? If so, try changing your hairstyle! There’s no easier way to improve your appearance.
What are the best male to female haircuts and styles?
I’m glad you asked!
The most flattering and feminizing hairstyles are ones that help soften strong facial features (like a prominent nose or jaw) while making your eyes and lips pop!
Read on to discover the top 6 MTF transgender hairstyles. Note that these style tips work for both wigs and natural hair.
1. Side Swept Bangs
Bangs are a great option since they draw attention to your eyes while hiding a prominent brow ridge. Bangs also make you look cute and youthful!
Straight bangs can highlight angular facial features, so go for soft, side swept bangs instead.
2. Layers
Layered hairstyles tend to be much more flattering than hair that’s all one length. Face framing layers soften your features and add texture and volume to your hair.
3. Soft Waves
Soft waves are super sexy and feminine. Waves also add volume to your hair, making thin hair appear fuller.
Most trans women and crossdressers look great with full, wavy hair that balances out stronger facial features and a larger body frame.
4. Shoulder Length Hair
Shoulder length hair is the best option for most women, including transgender women. Hair that’s too short can look masculine, while hair that’s too long can drag down your face after a certain age.
Shoulder length hair is very feminine and flattering. Additionally, it helps conceal a stronger jaw or thicker neck (if these are issues for you).
5. Side Parts
Middle parts can be tricky since they make your face look longer and highlight your nose and chin. Side parts are more flattering and can be worn by anybody with any face shape.
6. Highlights
Finally, don’t forget about color! Highlights brighten your face and look softer than a single block of color. Generally speaking, your highlights should be two shades lighter than your base color for the most natural look.
Make everyday a good hair day!
Nothing can boost your appearance like a fabulous hairstyle. As you can see from the tips above, the key is to think SOFT – soft cuts, soft texture, and soft color – to balance and feminize your features.
Hair is an important topic, so I’d love to hear from you!
First, take my poll and let me know if you’re a wig girl or natural hair gal! Then tell me if you’re happy with your current hairstyle or if it’s time for a change.

Wish I didn’t have to wear a wig but I’m bald on top so don’t have a choice. I prefer to wear short wigs, don’t have time or patience to deal with long hair. The brown one is generally my go to wig but the black one is more comfortable, but cheaper looking.
I have a few wigs
Here is another
I would love to style my own hair but it so thin that it isn’t an option. I go to my local wig emporium, dressed en femme and try different styles.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and treat me just like any other of thir female clients.
My style is blonde, shoulder length soft curls.
I dress en femme when purchasing a wig and agree with the other girls that you have to buy quality and buy in a shop, where you can try various styles, rather than just clicking a picture at an online store.
Where I shop the staff are really helpful and friendly. They treat me Judy like any other female clints
One thing I never do is buy wigs on-line. I go to a local wig shop where the sales lady who owns the store treats me like any other woman looking for a wig. I always go in dressed as a female and am able to try on different styles that fit me best. She also helps me. It’s great. I like shoulder length wigs that match the color of my natural hair. And I don’t buy cheap wigs. I want ones that look very natural. As a 72 year old trans woman I just want to blend in. Here I am the other day in my “shopping clothes” at the mall. What do you think?
Well yeah!!
Who goes to buy wigs in drab Male mode???
Always…go to a quality wig shop, Enfemme, always, always with your usual makeup, so the pro can see coloring, facial structure and eye color, etc.

I was recently convinced by my mother to cut & style my hair shorter than I usually like to endure,I swear Ive regretted that decision ever since going shorter,so much so,that since my cut & style I made do with my wigs, until it was long enough to simply add extensions that didn’t look silly (if I didnt get pro styling assistance)..Heres some pics to show what I mean!!
Hello Again,
This is post #2 for hair. This is my natural color and I love this style too. It’s kinda short but full and it makes me feel VERY feminine. Of course, the boyfriend of the moment has something to say about this style too….sigh…. Well, if he doesn’t watch himself, I’ll have something to say too but will have to yell out to the curb so he can hear me LOL!
This is my longer hair style and I do like the style and color. My boyfriend (at the moment) isn’t too crazy about the color or the style. Men! Some of them are so hard to please. Wish I could post 2 pics because the other is my natural color and the style I really love. Perhaps I’ll look some more for it and post a second pic…..Love you all!
Hi Lucille
I reckon that it is time for a change. I shall want to be a wig girl. Being in the UK, I could really use specific information/recommendation as to where I could 1:2:1 session, fixing up the best wig for me.
I love the blogs you produce.
