You can go down anywhere from a half size to 1-1/2 sizes if you go with a wide width shoe. However, this depends on the style of shoe. As a male, I wear a mens’ size 9, but I’ve got womens’ shoes in sizes ranging from 8 1/2 wide to a size 10 shoe. I can’t emphasize enough the style of the shoe in this area! Rounder toe pumps are best and make your feet look smaller. My favorite pair of pumps is a size 8 1/2 wide, black Mary Jane style pump, 2 1/2 inch heel, rounded toe. they’re comfortable, easy to walk in, go with almost everything I wear, make my feet look much smaller, and were only $19.99 at Payless Shoe Source. They are so versatile that I rarely wear anything else if I want to wear black shoes!! What an awesome find!!
