The right pair of shoes can instantly transform the way you look, feel, and walk. That’s why a girl can never own too many pairs!
Of course, not all shoes are created equal and some styles are much more flattering and feminizing than others.
That’s why in this blog post, I’ve compiled the top 7 shoe styles for crossdressers and transgender women.
From classy high heels to comfortable flats, here are the best MTF shoes to enhance your feminine image.
1. Classic Black Pumps
What could be more chic than a pair of classic black pumps? They add a polished look to any outfit, making them a feminine wardrobe staple.
For the most mileage, choose a closed-toe, full back style with a heel that’s high enough to help loosen up your hips as you walk.
2. Ballet Flats
You don’t have to wear high heels to look feminine!
Ballet flats are a fantastic option, especially if you’re on the taller side or want to look pretty and stylish without sacrificing comfort.
3. D’Orsay Pumps
The d’Orsay is a beautiful and elegant pump style in which the sides are cut away to reveal the arch of the foot.
D’Orsay pumps are perfect for showing off shapely legs – an asset for most crossdressers and transgender women.
4. T-Straps
T-straps add a sexy touch to pumps, high heel sandals, and flats. T-strap shoes have two distinct benefits:
- The ankle strap offers extra support for your ankles, making them easier to walk in than other heels.
- The vertical line created by the center strap draws the eye upwards, making your legs look longer.
5. Nude Heels
If you’re on a budget, nude heels will give you the most mileage since they can be worn with literally any color of outfit.
Choose a nude tone that blends in with your skin to make your legs look miles long – an added bonus!
6. Wedges
Still trying to master walking in heels? Then consider a wedge heel. Since the sole covers more ground, they’re much easier to walk in.
One caveat: Wedges have a chunky look, so they are best for those with thinner legs. Stay away from them if you have large or muscular legs.
7. Tall Boots
Boots are sexy and sassy, so they’re a wardrobe must.
Choose knee high boots for the most elegant look. Tall boots are more flattering and slimming than ankle boots or boots that hit the middle of the calf.
Let’s talk shoes!
Of course, these 7 shoe styles are only the beginning! While all of these options are fantastic, the best shoes are the ones that make YOU look and feel your best.
I could talk about shoes for days, so let’s keep the conversation going!
Take my poll and then and share a photo of yourself wearing your favorite shoes in the comments below!

Hi ladies – I hate to bring this photo up again, but I would highly recommend The Rack at Nordstrom’s if your interested in shoes or any clothing for that matter. Here I was at their store a few days ago. They have tons of great shoes with great discounted prices and sizes up to 13 or greater! I wear a size 10 in women’s shoes. P.s., I love all styles of women’s shoes. I’m just trying on some heels in this photo. Have fun! Suzy
Suzy….Even if you don’t purchase any shoes it’s just fun to try on different styles in-store. I’m in heaven in shoe stores because I can shop for something that I must have but if I don’t find it that day it’s alright
Hi Dana – yes, I love shopping! I always shop enfemme and am always treated as a lady wherever I go. So fun to be called ma’am, miss, etc. by the sales staff!
I’m 6 Ft 7 inches tall. But my feet are relatively small at 11+one half. I love high heels. Like most C/D’s I’m basically closeted. However us mega girls love our sexy shoes. My larger friends like the fact I’m even larger.
Yes, shoes offer the definite gateway to entering that space of feminine bliss for me. I absolutely have a shoe fetish (and so many more for that matter), just like my wife, so we always have something to share and talk about, for sure.
Nordstrom Rack is definitely the place to go for us larger girls. I used to wear size 11 but have over time somehow had to migrate to size 12. Fortunately, NRack kept more than up with me in increasing their offerings for the larger sizes. With a warm thank you to Lucille for her ever inspiring messages.
For me it’s sandals, painted toe nails with or without hose.
Thank you Lucille. You rock and so this site. Can get tons of information
Which one shoes you suggest for indian 5,7 hight cd , ( i mostly wear sarees only )
I love my boots and sandals
I personally will not wear pointed-toe shoes. It’s not for the discomfort, it’s the look. Those of us with large/long feet don’t need to make them look even longer! Being self-conscious, I worry about passing and I notice people looking at my feet after they check out my neck for an Adam’s apple, and/or my large hands. Thankfully I don’t have a pronounced Adam’s apple, never did. I try to hide my hands or hold them in a way that makes them look sleek/thin.
On shoes, I prefer round toe styles. Comfy and classy.
I agree. Rounded toes are both classy and comfy. Peep toe are supposed to be a faux pas but I still love them because I have pretty feet.
I am with you on that Meran. I do not like pointed toe shoes either. What I wear mostly is ankle strap sandals with a 3″ heel for just out and about and everyday wear but I also have a pair with 2″ heel and a pair with 4 inch heel for special occasions when husband takes me out.
I do not want to be too tall for my husband. I am 5’8″ barefoot and husband is between 6’1″ and 6’2″ so 3″ heels do work cuz I have to tilt my face up and he tilt his down when we kiss. I do have a couple of pair of Marabou slippers with a 3″ heel. My husband likes me wearing heels
I’m 6 Ft 7 inches tall. I love my 6 inch platform pumps. The only problem is the door is too low. They make me just short of 7 feet tall.
This a cute out fit but you ca see all the shoes that I have at present
I love all shoe, but I especially love heel and heeled boots.
Does anybody know of a good place to buy high heels other than target?
I discovered torrid.com for shoes and other items. I miss payless as well.
I get my shoes online at Masseys. They have a large selection of all styles and they arrive in about a week. I currently have between 30 & 50 shoes and boots with the majority coming from Masseys. I just order another pair that should be here at the end of the week.
Amazon and EBay
These are some of my fave shoes. I have around 30 pairs from flats to heels
Thanks
Ross, DSW and Marshall’s
Try Macy’s, Nordstrom’s , Kohl’s and other high end retailers. Always check the clearance section. Especially if you wear size 10 or above. The clearance shoes are typically the smaller and the larger sizes that are left over. I’ve got some real bargains like a pair of Guess peep toe heels in ox blood alligator and python across to toe. And A pair of Ralph Lauren riding boots for around $50 each! I could go on and on. Never be afraid to buy quality shoes not only will they fit better they will last much longer and hey who doesn’t feel sexier in a pair of Prada versus Payless lol.
And don’t forget resale shops and my favorite online resale Posh Mark just be aware of knock offs and learn how to spot fakes. Happy Hunting!!!
Have you tried Fullbeauty.com? Womanwithin.com and jessicalondon.com are part of the Fullbeauty company. They have a lot of different shoes and larger sizes with WW widths. If you sign up for emails you’ll get notified of sales, and they have some good ones. I often wait until they have a percentage off clearance shoes. I have also had good luck with shoes.com for larger sizes and widths.Hope that helps.
