It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
How I chose my femme name was that I was rearranging the letters in my full birth name, and came up with Sharme’Brea DeWott, from Robert Wade Matthews. I fell in love with Sharme’Brea the first day I did this. She is classy, sexy, sophisticated, and alluring. To this day, I will only answer to Sharme’Brea.
I started out with Daphne. I loved the name and it was also a name of one of the girls on a cartoon that I really loved, Scooby Do. Later I fell in love with Stephannie. I don’t really know why that name hit me so hard, but I really love it and can’t imagine being anyone else but, Stephannie.
The choice was easy; as I was named after a person I loved dearly (my Godfather), I wasn’t about to dishonor him. Plus, it fits and feels right. And it doesn’t confuse any of my family members.
My last name is an Anglicized/Americanized version of a Swedish name so I wanted the same for a first name
I have always liked the name and it fits nicely.
did not pick the name whlist looking into a mirror, but i have always loved the name Amanda after my favorite Celeb Amanda Holden, she has naturaul beauty and never judges anyone by gender, a wonderful woman
Over the years I have had three names. The first two were names of women I wanted to pattern myself after but they really weren’t me. Now that I have started HRT and begun my journey the third name fits better than I ever imagined when I picked it. It is the female version of Daniel which means “God is My Judge” or “Only God will Judge Me”. So as I navigate my daily life filled with everything from the most wonderful joy to the most negative, hurtful people I always remember that it is my life and no one will judge me here! <3
I tried a few different names to start with, but then settled for one which has several letters of my Initials and it seemed to work nicely
