It’s amazing how much our names shape our identities. Some names feel like a perfect fit from the start, while others never quite resonate with us.
However, crossdressers and transgender women have the unique opportunity to choose their own feminine names.
Every great MTF name has a story behind it, and I’d love to hear YOURS.
How did you choose your feminine name?
Please tell us your story in the comments below, and if you can, share a photo too. It’s always lovely to put a face to a name!
Love,
Lucille
I chose “pepa” because I had a female friend that called “pepa”. This girl was very very feminine in all of her, clothes, shape, make up, voice. I liked her very much, I was in love, but she wasn’t.

My fem side always had her name even before i even understood I was gifted with a feminine side. it wasnt until i was in my early teens when i started to listen to her voice, that I became aware of her name. to me Lise is more suiting of myself then even my “other” name
MI NOMBRE DE NACIMIENTO, ES OMAR Y MI NOMBRE FEMENINO ES OMAIRA, DESDE LA CIUDAD DE CALI VALLE DEL CAUCA, COLOMBIA, RECPBAN UN BESO Y ABRASO, SALUDOS A TODAS MIS AMIGAS.
My father named me Cary, after my great grandfather. At one point in my life I asked my father what my name would have been if I was a girl. I then told him that mom would have named me Jennifer. He got very angry and told me that hell no she wouldn’t. She named my older sister and promised him the next child would be for him to name. He then said ” You would have been named Carrie after your great grandfather’s twin sister. Either sex, your name would have been so to honor them.” When my time to change came, it was very easy because I loved my father and wanted to honor his memory. Thus I became Carrie. My middle was Allen, and I changed it to Aislinn, meaning dream.
When I was a little boy in the late 50’s-early 60’s, I knew girls with the names Deborah (Debbie) and Lynn. I always liked those names as to me, they sounded so soft, feminine and girly. Who knew back then that today I adopted the names for myself.
Originally, I used the name Rosalind. This was after a character from Shakespear. Later, I changed it to RobertA, which is my first name and my middle initial.
I chose Jamie because my birth name is James so I can sign things Jamie and no one even notice’s. So I’m going by Jamie all the time. My full chosen name being Jamie Lynn O’toole.
Donna is a variation of my first name
