Stepping out into the word as your female self can be incredibly empowering. It’s powerful validation for crossdressers and transgender women alike.
In this blog post, I want to dive into this topic and hear about your own experiences. How often do you present yourself as a woman in public?
Do you live as a woman full time? Do you crossdress regularly or on occasion? Or is the answer, sadly, “never”?
Please take my transgender / crossdressing survey and share your thoughts in the comments below!

Lucille

I usually dress as a woman one or two days a week. I get all fixed up in the morning and leave the house on my normal work or play schedule and stay a woman all day. And sometimes all night too! I never take boy clothes with me, so there is never a temptation to change.
I live full time as a woman. Matter of fact I am legally female.
Full time, came out at work this year…coworkers said it was about time!
Hi Lucille, I so love your site. I get to dress twice a day most of the time, for about an hour each time. Going to and from work. Unfortunately, I am out of work right now, and can only wear my under garments with my drab clothing. As my wife does not approve, and doesn’t want to see it. I usually stop at 3 businesses, and the ladies in those places absolutely love me, or so they say. One lady comes from behind the counter and hugs me every time I see her. Yes they all know what kind of gurl I am. I love being dressed and being out, it’s so exhilarating to be the real me.
tina, I feel for you having to put on those nasty drab clothing. I got rid of his clothes and I live as a woman full time. When I go out I am dressed even going to my Dr. on the outside I go as Elizabeth and even when I go to the VA clinic I am Elizabeth and I am treated just like the other ladies, and it is so nice to have that feeling of belonging. I am totally free as my whole family knows.
Tina, please don’t wait go to the VA and talk to your doctor as she will be the one to do the referral for you to see the women’s health doctor. I have no side effects except sore nipples. I can say that I have a few of his shirts left to work in while in the yard; besides that I have only women’s clothes and I do wear them every day no matter where I go and I do look decent when dressed up nice. Please get rid of the shackles that are holding your true self back; you will be much happier.
Hi Dianne
I’m so sorry it has taken me sooooo long to reply. I don’t get on the computer very often.
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately I can’t get rid of his clothes YET. His wife (well you know).
One of my Dr’s. know of me, has never seen me fully dressed and probably never will. I wasn’t expecting her to reach under my pant leg to check for ankle swelling and found my pantyhose, ( she did it so quickly I didn’t have time to stop her). We discussed it for a bit, she said it was fine, the next time she saw my slip and said it was pretty. My Dr. at the V.A. has never known of my proclivity for dressing. Although I would at sometime like to go to the V.A. to inquire about hormone treatments, but with the possibable side effects I just don’t know 🙁 .
I love driving around dressed, once I dressed while washing his work clothes at the laundry mat, then drove to our local State park and walked around for a while. I was in heaven!
Last year I had about a dozen G.Girlfriends that I saw almost every day, but the company I worked for layed off everyone so I don’t get to go that way anymore.
Anyway I’ve rambled on enough now, but it’s so nice to have someone to chat with.
Much love
Tina D.H.
Now that I am retired I go out in public now three
or four times a week. I am 5’6″ and 150 lbs., and seem to blend in where ever I go. I am called maa’m or miss in stores I frequent. In the women’s section of department stores, the sales ladies always treat me as another woman just out shopping. I love it. Now thinking of living full time as the woman who I am.
Iam trying to go out when ever I can. but that only about 15 or 20 times a mounth. Iam really have a hard time finding places to go Iam not a bar type and there is only so much shopping you can do. I went shopping the other day and all I bought was a new purse. Its hard to find cloth that fit and look nice. I don’t want to look sluty but nice
I’m not out of the closet other than to couple of close freinds. I have cross dressing for guiet sometime but just in last year venture out as the femminne me. It was a great feeling even though I’m not really pass able . It’s nice to be my real self for a while
That’s good diane but more you dress up an move bout rather be inside of home or going outside for brief moment’s will free your inner self and should try wearing your feminine clothes out more even if it’s under male clothes
I go out whenever I get the chance to..it’s not often enough but circumstances deny me the time to do it.
I’ve been going out dressed in public now for over a year and each time I gain more confidence.
I’ve only been outed once in all the times I’ve been out and that was by a young mother who was stressed out with 3 small children.
I like going shopping for clothes but I really enjoy going out to dinner and being treated like a lady.
I’ve never had a bad experience while out in a restaurant and I’ve been to a lot of restaurants.
Our day of fun is almost here and I’m looking forward to going out for Halloween.
I’ve got a new dress that I’m looking forward to wearing with a new pair of 3 inch heels.
I’m going to go to a party for crossdressers and I’m excited about meeting new people who have the same interests as I do.
This is going to be a first time meeting new people for me.
I’m going to do my best to look as sexy and confident as I can be.
I’m getting a makeover and getting my nails painted and a new hairdo on Monday.
Can’t wait until I can see what it looks like to be made up by a professional makeup artist.
I have the confidence and the right attitude so I’m really looking forward to seeing myself with a professional makeover.
Thanks for helping me gain the confidence to try new things.
I’ll keep you posted on how it goes meeting with the new people and what they think about me.
