A beautiful pair of shoes or high heels can instantly make you feel more feminine and attractive.
But do you struggle to find stylish women’s shoes in your size?
In this article, I share my top places to shop for shoes for trans women and crossdressers – particularly if your feet are US women’s size 13 or larger!
How to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes
But first, let’s talk about how to convert between men’s and women’s shoe sizes. This actually varies a lot from country to country.
In the US and Australia, there’s approximately a 2 size difference between men’s and women’s shoes.
To find your women’s shoe size, simply add 2 sizes to your usual men’s shoe size. For example, a men’s US size 11 would be women’s US size 13.
If you are in the UK, Europe, or Asia, things are much easier since there’s no difference between men’s and women’s shoe sizes.
However, regardless of the size, keep in mind that men’s and women’s shoes are shaped slightly differently. Men’s shoes are usually wider at the heels.
For that reason, I always recommend trying on shoes before you buy them, rather than relying on the numerical size alone.
Now that you know your shoe size, let’s go shopping!
Long Tall Sally
The ultimate shopping destination for tall women, Long Tall Sally offers large size women’s shoes up to a US size 15. This UK based e-commerce site offers service and shipping within the US, UK, EU, and Australia.
Pleaser Shoes
While Pleaser Shoes prides itself on being the leader in sexy footwear, they offer a range of styles – from sexy to classic and pinup to goth. Most importantly, they offer women’s shoes up to a size 16.
Update: Our lovely reader Jolene has shared that with Pleasers, depending on the style of shoe, a trans woman or crossdresser may need to add THREE sizes to their male shoe size.
FSJ Shoes
FSJ Shoes is a China-based shoe manufacturer that offers a huge array of styles up to a size 15 US. Best of all, they also offer custom made shoes at affordable prices so you can make any shoe dream come true!

Lucky I don’t have a problem finding shoes, from pumps, sneakers, stilettos to boots. I wear a size 6 but have found that some makes are super small and I end up with mostly size 7 but sometimes size 8 (if USA sizes)
I’ve had lots of luck with Payless Shoes. They have them in-store and online up to size women’s 13, and with sales and BoGo you can get nice-looking shoes for as low as $10. Don’t expect them to be the most durable or comfortable, but for CD/TG men on a tight budget they can help you get a feel for how different styles fit your feet. Word of warning: the salespeople are always trolling around the store in every location I’ve visited, so if you’re shy about trying them on with an audience (like I am), you’re best off buying them online and trying them on in the privacy of your own home.
I just followed the link for the calculator for converting men’s sizes to women’s doesn’t work for anything above men’s size 10. I am a men’s size 11.5 and it didn’t work. Also, the link for “Sensational Soles” doesn’t seem to work and when I went to the site the link asked for my retailer’s password. Can you help me with this please?
I have had good luck getting shoes in my size very recently. I take a woman’s size 13W. Suggest look at these websites: http://www.shoes.com and http://www.shoemall.com. Last year I purchased shoes from Roaman’s. All the shoes that i have purchased size has not been a problem. They fit great and do not give me any problems.
I hate buying any clothing online as sizes vary by cut and brand. I get most of my shoes from goodwill as there is great variety of styles.
I used to give my gf grief for the amount of shoes she had. Since crossdressing, I understand the shoe issue much better as it is very hard not to look. I have 3 pair of men’s footwear and currently 10 womens.
Hi Luci, boy women’s shoes sizes seem to be all over the place even with in the same brand, especially the ones made in china. Then you need to figure out the euro sizing, Italian, Spanish sizing. Boy what we go thru to look good, Oh well, LOL. Any helpful tips on buying heels, short of going in and trying them on. Some of us buy on line so we don’t have to go to a store and try them on, big pain when you have to exchange them for a different size, Thanks for you great tips. Love Shirley
My men’s size is 10.5, women’s size is 11. So you add a half size to your man size and that’s it. But you usually can’t find women’s HALF sizes, so if you’re a men’s 10, you will have difficulty finding a women’s 10.5, but 11 would still work, and possibly a 10, but you’d have to find our by trial and error.
This is incorrect. You add 1.5 when going from U.S. male to female.
How do I know what size my feet are in women’s size. I’m in a men’s size 9. Can some one let me know. Linda/Gazza.
Try going a size up + add a 1/2 size if your feet are wide. I wear an 8 1/2 and I use a women’s size 9 1/2, if I can find a 9 1/2 wide, all the better.
Lucille, do you think it’s time retailers like Payless, Target and Millers should start looking at putting out larger size shoes in their stores.
Target stores around Melbourne(Aust) largest size is 41/11.
There are only 2 large size ladies shoe suppliers in Melbourne,
too bad if someone lives 150 miles away.
Business wise Lucille, what these retailers are missing, is opportunity, there is going to be a lot more TG women around with big feet. Us TG women are not going to go away!.
How do others feel?.
I agree I love going to stores and look at all the pretty shoes and thinking how I would look in them but sadly none of them are in my size 🙁
