Although I had been out dressed many times before, they were all one hour or an hour and a half from where I was living. This was the first time I was out in the town where I lived. When I was working (retired in 2016) our LGBT employee resource group hosted an entertainment event that we free to the general public. In other years we had Suzanne Westenhofer twice, Alec Mapa, Marga Gomez and others. For 2015 Ian Harvie was our first trans performer. I took that as a golden opportunity and volunteered to be Mistress of Ceremonies as DeeAnn. The group knew me as a bisexual person, so there was a little surprise when I came out to them as a trans person. There were about 130 people in attendance for the event, some of whom I knew. I guess this qualified as a Go Big or Go Home moment…
Just me getting ready to go out for the night.

Me, Julie, a couple of years ago.
I am in my early 70’s, have been dressing most of my life but only over the last 10years or so have felt confident in my makeup skills to venture out. I have spent a few weekends at a hotel taken over by CD’s for the weekend as Julie with walks in the countryside as well. I also went out to dinner with a genetic girl friend, addressed as ladies by a passer-by which was a lovely feeling.
My wife knows I dress but does not approve, turns a blind eye most of the time, other times I am beaten up with it.
I don’t think I want to transition, I am not interested in men but I would like to be taken by one as Julie but don’t want any of the sexual part.

I am new to this letting people know that I crossdress. My ex girlfriend kind of started me to this. She wanted me to wear her clothes at times. But unfortunately no make over or makeup. Since then, I have been doing it on and off. I have went to Halloween parties dressed as a girl. ( I really enjoy when women flirt with me and give me attention!!! I feel like that I have been a lady for a while now, but don’t feel comfortable transitioning. I absolutely LOVE women, and have felt feminine for years. I am afraid to dress out in public or let close ones know who I am. I think that I am a feminine man that wants to be a trans Lesbian. Not sure if I should let people know that!
So hard to get the bravery to step out and be who i feel should be. A woman. To much redneck stigma left in my head when i was seriously chastised for dressing in womens clothing.
