Are you looking for male to female (MTF) fashion tips to help you look your best this summer? If so, you are in the right place!
Even though hot weather can be tricky (hello, sweat!), summer can be a great time to embrace your feminine side. There’s nothing like stepping out en femme in a cute sundress or sexy swimsuit.
Here are 7 tips, tailored specifically for crossdressers and transgender women, to help you look extra sexy and feminine this summer.
1. Rock Some Sexy Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a summer must-have accessory. They not only shield your eyes but also exude a touch of glamour and allure.
Here’s are the best frame shapes to flatter your face:
- Rounded frames balance angular features.
- Angular frames are most flattering for round faces.
Tip: Avoid wearing your sunglasses too high up on your face. Most stylists recommend that your sunglasses should not cover your eyebrows.
2. Illuminate Your Locks
Summer and highlights go hand in hand. Add some highlights to your natural hair or pick up a wig with highlights.
Good news: Crossdressers and transgender women of all skin and hair tones can pull off highlights. Shades like auburn, chocolate, or dark blonde complement darker coloring beautifully.
3. Try a Sun-Kissed Glow
A tan exudes sexiness and gives your body a more toned appearance. Rather than risking sunburn, opt for a self-tanner.
I recommend using a tanning mousse with a mitt applicator for an even, natural-looking tan. Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Body Mousse is an excellent option.
4. Switch Up Your Fragrance
Change your fragrance to match the summer vibe. Take a break from heavy, musky scents and opt for something light and fruity.
Consider these summer-worthy scents:
- On the Beach by Louis Vuitton (unisex, so you can wear it in male mode too!)
- Sugar Lemon by Fresh
- Be Delicious Fresh Blossom by DKNY
- Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs
5. Bid Farewell to Body Hair
Smooth, silky skin is irresistibly sexy. Summer is the perfect time for a full-body shave or wax, bringing out your inner femininity.
You’ll not only feel more girly but also cooler and fresher, enhancing the feminine experience.
6. Lighten Up Your Lip Shade
Summer calls for a shift from deep lip colors to fresh and light hues. Soft pinks, corals, and nudes are ideal choices for a warm weather look.
7. Treat Yourself to a New Dress
Invest in a sexy new sundress to kick off the summer season. Look for flowing, gathered styles that create the illusion of curves.
Now, show off your summer look!
I hope these MTF fashion tips have convinced you that summer is the perfect time to embrace your feminine style.
This applies whether you plan to step out as a woman in public, or simply enjoy your female side in private.
I’d love to see your favorite summer look, so please share your photos below!

Our weather in the UK can at times be untrustworthy, so it can be difficault at times to know what to wear as we have to be prepared for sudden changes. But I have brought a couple of nice summer dresses, and just wear a bra and pants underneath, I do shave all my body every week and brush down with a sprinkle of jasmine water. OH! and do not forget the brolly.
Love Amber.
OMG! i’m so jealous of all you girls that can wear tank tops and/or sleevless blouses. i made the terrible mistake of getting tattoos when i was trying to be “manly” and so can’t wear things like that. i have to wear something with sleeves that go to my elbows and tops that don’t show a lot of chest.
plan on letting my hair grow out and to lose weight and look, read, goto more fashionable stores for us transgendered woman here in colorado. and make the estorgen work become more openly and become the woman i am . pluse i plan on buying more dresses, and skirts, shoes, and tops all that a gril would get for herself. pluse mani, pandi curs all summer long
I start my summer off by using some indoor tanning moisturizing lotion to bring that summer glow to my legs and chest. I just purchased Lucille’s “The Ultimate Cleavage Guide” so I can wear some V-Nick Tank Tops to show off my 40DD breasts and cleavage.
I plan on working in the yard in sleveless tops and shorts. I have several flower gardens with lots of flowers that need some TLC. I also grow a garden with lots of natural vegitables. I started all of this becuase I went to Weight Watchers in March. Week 12 and I have lost 25 lbs so I can be ready for my wedding to a wonderful and accepting woman in on November 11, 2011.
Thanks Lucille for caring so much about us T-Girls. Your programs and resources are so refreshing and helpful.
Hi Lucille,
I totally agree about going bare which is why I had an all-over body wax last week (yes ALL over!).I’ve also had a couple of sessions in a stand-up tanning salon and bought a new summer dress so I hope it’s along summer.
Love
Carole.
Lucille,
I luv Summer and being completely smooth..everywhere. It feels and looks so feminine. I find a ponytail and sometimes a baseball cap with it and a haltertop and very femmy shorts is alwats a hit with the guys. 🙂 And I prefer a pink lipgloss and light sexy perfume.
Luv Ya’ll

I’ve been growing my hair out since February of 2010, and it’s now well onto my shoulders, so for summer I am really enjoying pulling the sides up and using a big clip in back, while keeping my bangs in front and still having long strands on the sides and long in back under the clip. With dangling earrings, my big sun glasses (great tip Lucille), some nice lip gloss to match my nails, and a cute necklace to match my earrings, it’s a great warm weather/summer look and feel. Your shave silky smooth is also a great idea, so I am ultra hair free and moisturized with a very natural looking (not orange) Nivea self tanner with 15 SPF. Next I go for lots of deep cleavage from my Nu-Bra under my demi-cup padded/push-up bra, and then wear a cute short sleeve or strappy cotton dress with either a very low scoop/V-neck, or a nice horizontal straight top, and then I make sure that lots of my soft and jiggly and bouncy is right above whatever neckline I’m wearing. And I finish off with little ballet flats or sandal-flat, and a cute matching shoulder bag. Great perfume or body spray that’s light a flowery makes me feel like I am super girly, and then I just head out for the day!
